Patreon Extras 8/9/2026 (Patreon)

Hola Familia!

Sorry for the late post. I started playing a game last night and forgot how fun it was so this is why my post is late.

I have 3 weeks before I start my school year, but before we do that…

Music time!

🎀BAND-MAID Sunday:

Kanami. Santana. Catharsis. These 3 things have something in common and I wanna talk about it! I did some research and would love to share what I have found with you. I have some cool musical research and general research. I hope you tune it!

🔹DIR EN GREY - “Shokubeni” (蝕紅)

I have always enjoyed a reaction to DIR EN GREY because not only is their music pretty awesome, but their music is also artistic. They really lean into the style and look of what the story their music is telling. I am excited to get into it!

🔹Lake Street Dive - “Hypotheticals”

This week is about checking out returning artists and I am happy about it. LSD has such a great a great sound and I am excited to check out this one. I’ve recently been telling my friends about some new music that I have been introduced to and this is another one that I need to get them hooked on. Let’s dive into this era of LSD!

🔹BAND-MAID Prime - “Catharsis” LIVE, Line Cube Shibuya, 2020

I haven’t had a chance to see this performed live other than the first Christmas acoustic version. I cannot wait to see the references I have made above about Kanami come alive on stage. Also...we HAVE TO CELEBRATE that I am FINALLY going to see BAND-MAID in OCTOBER!

I have started working on my lesson schedule and I find it the most stressful time of the year. Preparing kids to play music well for competitions and such are no match in having to schedule all my students. It’s a blessing and a curse!

I can’t wait for fall. How about you?
