Good Morning
Friday is here and so is Izzy. She came in Wednesday night, and yesterday we had a lot of fun modeling for SwimFit. But today, things are a little more serious.
Later, we’re going over to visit the Good Neighbor Settlement House in Brownsville, Texas to help serve lunch. But this morning, we’re just savoring our coffee and talking.
Izzy told me about a man, Kent Marlon, that does a lot of volunteer work for where she works. (Habitat Housing’s program called Stop-Gap Homes).
“Over the months, things between us,” she said, “have become very comfortable.”
She said she posted details on The Chosen’s page ( @agi_thechosen ). Her thoughts about Kent started to change when, after seeing him do a sweet, kind, thoughtful act, she had impulsively kissed his cheek.
“I don’t think,” she said, “the kiss was that big of a deal. But wondering if it was got me thinking.”
“It was an ‘aww, that was so cute’ kind of kiss,” I suggested.
“Right! But now that I’ve thought about it, I wonder… maybe my relationship with him has come to a place… where we should be asking each other if it’s going somewhere more.”
We explored that topic a long time, then talked about options—which boil down to tell him her thoughts or don’t.
“If you tell him, he might agree and things would move forward. Or…”
Izzy nodded. “He might pull back and what we have now would be choked out. I don’t want to lose what we have if he’s not as far along as I am. I don’t want to scare him off.”
Tough choice! We talked around and around.
Finally, I suggested she send up a trial balloon. “Next time you share a nice time together working on light switches or something, say, ‘This was really nice. We should hang out more often, but without tools.’”
She got the point. “Let him know I’m open to something besides the work we share.”
Now, the problem with giving advice is that it might be followed. And it might go wrong!
So, I’m going to be biting nails to see what happens!
We’ll be back later, so see you then!

Look Around
Izzy and I are at the Good Neighbor Settlement House in Brownsville, Texas where they serve meals to their clients. We are just pitching in… as we can.
Often, when I post these kinds of posts, I share statistics and data. Today, I’m going to try something different.
I’m giving you an assignment. There are two closely related parts.
Part 1: Open Google or your favorite search engine and type:
“What is the closest homeless shelter near me?”
Part 2: Open Google or your favorite search engine and type:
“How many people do they serve?”
That’s it. That number ought to tell you something about the needs in the area nearest you.
And you can use that information, hopefully, to find some way you can give back.
A long time ago, I came up with a super fast, super meaningful thing you can do. Ready?
1. Call that facility and say you want to donate some hygiene items. Ask for a delivery address and what types of items are needed most.
2. Go to Amazon, order some stuff, and ship it there. You can be done in less than 20 minutes and spend less than $10.00.
And you better bet the people on the receiving end will benefit greatly. Sometimes love starts with something small—like a bar of soap or a little time.
That’s all… See you tonight!
Goodnight
The sky tonight feels like it’s been brushed with every shade of warmth there is. I’m standing here with a mug of hot chocolate, watching the last streaks of light fade over Texas.
I’ve been thinking about everything this week—Izzy’s visit, our time helping at the Good Neighbor Settlement House, and how easy it is to forget that kindness doesn’t always have to be complicated.
It’s been a week full of motion—waves, travel, laughter, work, and reflection. And somewhere in the middle of it all, I think I found the thing I keep chasing: stillness with purpose.
Tonight, I’m letting that settle in. Letting gratitude take the lead.
May you find your own moment of peace at the end of this day—no matter what the day held. May you remember that quiet is not emptiness—it’s the place where meaning takes root.
Goodnight.
Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! It helps keep things going.
The cost of software is real and far from trivial. At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just at $100 per month. Patreon members are covering a nice portion of that.
I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. While most of the content is free and public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Again, thank you very, very much.
