Good Morning

Good morning! Today’s first diary entry is brought to you by toast and coffee, live from my kitchen! I really hope no one expects anything deep and profound today. If so, toast might be all you get!

I’m sure it would be easy enough to Google or AI search the chemistry of making toast. I’m guessing something about heat causing the sugars in the bread to react and caramelize.

But that would ruin the magic! We put a slice of bread into a machine and it not only gets hotter, it changes how it tastes!

Not to malign bread! There are lots of situations where bread is PERFECT as is.

But… toast… How can you deny that toasted bread with butter and maybe honey isn’t heavenly mana some mornings?

Moving on… because I need to get moving on!

After I finish my morning mana (speaking of mana) we’re all heading to church. After church, we’re going to walk over to the marina and chill on “Savannah’s Charm” (Clay’s Leopard 50 docked there) and pass the afternoon. We’ll all help with a quick wipe-down—keeping spiderwebs and dust under control is an ongoing, never-ending process.

Some sports will probably be watched. I’ll knock out some content if I feel motivated.

So basically, just a chill afternoon!

I’ll check back in with you at some point, so I’ll see you then!

After Church

Let me begin by saying the church was very nice, as always. Some of the people have noted our attendance, now greeting us by name and asking about our week. That’s a special part of being in worship with others.

There was a little bit in the sermon that spun my thoughts to the theology idea of divine partnership. In simple terms, God uses humanity to do God’s work on earth. That’s why we are here, instead of being taken up into eternity immediately.

Once my mind gets on that idea, I have to confess, I start to fixate on that. I guess it is a core idea that pushes me into all the #giveback work that I feel like has the most meaning in my life.

Well, we are heading from the church over to the marina. It’s not far. Jason and Clay dropped us off at church earlier, then moved the Highlander over there so we could all walk together.

Together… That’s sort of the vibe for today. Family and friends…

Dad’s going to get Grammy settled in (she’ll have lunch then nap, then play on her iPad or watch TV), then he’s going to come watch sports with the guys.

It’s not really a complex plan, but it has big, big meaning! It has value, and that’s what counts.

P.S. Geoni gets credit for this pic! “Stop! Stop! Stop! You look really cute!”

Then, she started giving me pose directions and went into pro-photographer mode! I guess I should add that our Tuesday plan has expanded to include Josh and Geoni—they are going to try and knock out a little travel article while we do the lotion shoot.

Okay, I’m falling behind now! See you later for a goodnight post!

Goodnight

Good night friends! The day has come to the end, and the new week awaits. I have some serious closing thoughts about tomorrow, so bear with me.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and tomorrow, I hope to raise a little awareness about that. I have an annual check up scheduled, and sharing it will be my “authentic slices of life” content.

Gentlemen (and I hope I’m using that word predictively), please don’t just look at the pictures. There will be words with meaning that I’m going to write!

I know most of my followers are men. That does not mean tomorrow’s content isn’t for you. You all probably have women around you. Your awareness supports their awareness.

I’m not suggesting that you go up to some lady at work and say, “Hey, just thought I’d let you know you ought to go get your ‘girls’ checked out.” (That might get you fired!)

But maybe just say to your mom or sister or someone close something like, “I saw some posts on the Internet that it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Do you keep up with your check-ups?”

Something… I’ve learned that awareness isn’t about fear—it’s about love. The kind that wants to keep people here, healthy, and part of our lives.

I appreciate all of your interest in my life. Health is part of it, right? So tomorrow, we’re going to see the doctor and do all that normal annual checkup stuff.

See you then.

May all the women in your life live in good health and remain free of cancer.

Good night.

Be your best you!
