COLORADO BOUND by Michael Allen

Last time I took this flight to visit Cindi, I was hoping it wouldn’t crash and burn. The visit, not the plane, (although that, too).

This time, I’m hoping for something amazing. As much as I’ve seen her grow through her challenges, I’ve also seen myself grow in my care, concern, and yes, love for her.

I still get comments and discussions that it can’t be real. That it’s only an Internet thing. I decline to agree.

This trip to Colorado is the capstone event for a fall full of amazing turns for me. Beyond the slow growth of things with Cindi, my situation began to change when Jordan’s senior project started.

But when we met with Roman Lenox and picked up Lenox, Marston, and Davis as a client, the growth of my little communications company hit after-burner speed.

Then, the LLC, ClearStream was formed with Cindi, Jordan, and me as its members. In an LLC, members are pretty much the same thing as partners in an Inc.

With that in place, Roman called. He had referrals. Big clients. International! I made some calls. It all looked good.

But, there was no way it could happen with me full-time in the Nashville company.

Since then, I have shifted back to them becoming a premier client of ClearStream, LLC. I also talked Carter Ellis into starting work a month early before his graduate program Internship begins.

To be honest, the paperwork alone is almost a full-time job! I never dreamed anything like this could happen.

Nor did I ever dream anything like Cindi could happen either.

Through it all, she’s been there for me. I sort of moved her into my condo via FaceTime—just the kitchen and living room, but almost continually.

We turn it on as soon as we wake up, leave it running in the kitchen after coffees, even while we were elsewhere getting dressed for the day. Sometimes, we leave it on while working—just running at the side of the desk.

Then, after work… The evenings we’ve spent! And the weekends.

Now, I’m flying out to actually see her. This feels amazing!
