GOOD MORNING
Good morning! Yes, it’s early, but I have a full plate today! I can’t talk for long—I have to get Aimee Cole < @aimee_cole_ai on IG > to the airport.
I’m still basking in how wonderful yesterday was. I only wish London was closer! It would be nice to be able to repeat days like that more frequently.
But, we must live within the bounds of our realities, right? We enjoy the moments we get, hold onto the memories, and look ahead to the next time.
I’m also looking ahead to this afternoon. Dad texted and said he’d like to meet for lunch. He’s going to swing over from the Coast Guard station and meet me at Sea Ranch Restaurant. It should be a lot of fun!
Well, Aimee’s packed, and I need to be a good host! Coffee forthcoming!
Watch for my lunch post with Dad later! See you then.

AFTER LUNCH
I was on my way back from the airport when I got a DM on IG. It was from Jack Tempest.
“I know we’ve been talking about meeting. I had a change of plans, and ended up in Brownsville today. Any chance to meet?”
I told him about plans to buy lunch for Dad at Sea Ranch Restaurant and invited him to join us. We had a great visit.
I’m not sure who had more fun meeting him—me or Dad. We were barely past placing our orders and getting our food before he started in with “When Ailana was a little girl” stories.
He skipped the rough patches and focused on things that were pretty embarrassing to me! You know the type of stories… “Oh, one time when she was around 12…”
I survived.
Meeting Jack was a lot of fun. It fit perfectly into my day, and I’m really glad it worked out.
And when the meal came to an end, I was a little surprised and glad that Dad and Jack swapped contact info.
Dad said, “Well, if I lose it, I can get Ailana to get it back for me.”
I have to say I am really happy this worked out!
I’ll be back later, so watch for the next post!
CAN THIS BE REAL? By Jasmine Banks
I’ve been texting with Sasha ever since we met at Starbucks, and since I have today off, she invited me to come over to South Padre Island. She wanted me to see the progress on the condo that’s going to be for me and Micah.
I took the bus over—not direct, of course, but I made it.
She was ready to make lunch for me when I got here. “It’s nothing fancy… Just sandwiches and some cut up veggies. I have Ruffles, if you want some chips…”
“That sounds great,” I said.
There’s something about Sasha that just feels easy to me, and she said the same thing. She said she’s known Ailana for over a year, and that they are great friends.
“But Jasmine, I get the same feeling around you. I don’t know you very well, yet. But I really feel like you and have a connection.”
She told me a little about herself. Her father was Korean and met her American mother in Tokyo. She grew up in Tacoma, Washington.
“Where are your parents now?” I wish I hadn't asked.
She forced a smile. “I lost them both back in 2021. Car wreck… I locked myself away in my work after that… Project management. Remote when I could pull it off. Then, I figured out I could drastically downsize my home and live on the road. I guess I spent 18 months living mostly off expense accounts, per diems, and frequent flyer points.”
“You already know,” I said, “that I grew up a foster kid. I know it’s not the same as losing someone you loved. But I think I know how the loneliness might have felt when they passed.”
Our conversation changed directions when Geoni and Josh came in. They said there was an electrician outside with some questions.
That’s where Sasha is right now. Doing her thing. Managing a project.
I have to agree with her about feeling connected. But I’m sitting here asking myself if this is really happening! Can this be real?
Micah and I are hoping—praying—that it is.
GOOD NIGHT
I can’t believe it’s still 80°F (≈27°C) this close to sunset in November! And never mind that the 70% humidity makes it feel even warmer!
The girls and I hit the beach for the good night post. Jasmine Banks was here most of the afternoon, but had to pass on beach time. She wanted to get home and see about making something nice for dinner.
Let me pause for a moment to say something. This is NOT a SwimFit suit. I can assure you, it might be okay for swimming if you aren’t aggressive about it! Jogging? Not a chance!
It’s comfortable to wear, though, and for walking, it works out fine. The SwimFit models we’ve had a chance to test are designed to be worn while being active. One misjudged wave in this suit could be a big problem!
Starting an apparel company from scratch is a big project. A lot of things are in place. A lot are in the works. And a lot still are in development.
There’s no way you’ll be able to buy one as a Christmas present. Possibly, in time to be in the stores by spring break. That’s the working goal, for now.
Tomorrow is Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving in the US. I’m already thinking of all the things I have to be grateful for! And you are a big part of them!
The AGI team has a plan for Thanksgiving, but I’ll wait until tomorrow to talk about it.
Meanwhile, it’s time to close out Tuesday’s diary.
May you be blessed to share life with people who love you, people who understand you and support you, helping you become the best version of yourself possible.
Good night.
Be your best you!
