GOOD MORNING

Aimee Cole is here in South Padre Island with me for today. Sasha insisted we have a girls’ breakfast, and of course I picked Denny’s.

Geoni insisted we pose for the “Good Morning” picture over breakfast. Aimee agreed, so that happened!

Breakfast was filled with catching up on things. It’s funny how easily we fall back into conversation, even after months apart.

Now, we are back at the condo. We're about to go inside and change. Guess who insisted on another picture?

The plan today is pretty simple, honestly. The seven of us are heading to the marina, boarding “Imagine What” and trying to find some breaks in the clouds to enjoy the day.

The temperature is going to reach 83°F (≈28°C) with partly cloudy skies. The wind is the wild card! At 23 mph, it’s near the upper limit of safe operations, even for a 29’ (8.8m) high-tech vessel.

Clay says we’ll be fine, and can even use the inflatable behind the boat if we put the wind behind us and go with it. It'll be a wild ride over the waves, but we’ll be careful!

So, next time you see us, we’ll be out to sea! See you then!

IMAGINE WHAT

Although “Imagine What” is the name of our boat, and even though I included a screen shot from Regal’s website, this post isn’t about the boat. It’s about the idea that inspired the boat’s name.

Aimee asked about the name of the boat, and Clay answered. “Ailana’s brand started off as Ailana Geven Imagines. As time passed, the ‘imagine’ idea took shape. Imagine what would happen if everyone did a little? If everyone gave back a little of what they had extra? If everyone stopped to share a smile, a kind word… holding open a door for someone. Imagine if we all slowed down and shared life more fully…”

Aimee smiled. “Imagine what changes could happen in the world… if…”

“Exactly,” Clay replied.

So, we sit here in our luxury boat enjoying a day on the water, but those of you who have been around know this isn’t who we are. It’s something we do.

It’s one thing among the frequent “give back” days where we try to call attention to issues in the world.

Aimee had an interesting thought. “Days like this let everyone looking at the pictures relax, but they don’t forget the days at the homeless shelter, doing sea turtle rescues. When we were in California together, you and I delivered meals to people who couldn’t get to the food without help.”

“I remember,” I said.

“Days like this,” she added, “are the shiny, attractive wrapper over the important substance of the other days.”

I agree completely. Our lives are fun, to be sure. And if every day was me doing dishes at the homeless shelter, everyone would get emotionally exhausted. Days of play recharge us for days of hard work.

And this… This is indeed a day of play! Watch for more soon!

And Aimee and I will see you later tonight!

GOOD NIGHT

I’m sleeping on the couch tonight. Naturally, I gave Aimee my bed.

We had a great day. The thoughts and conversations were as deep as the events were fun. I think we traveled through every area of our lives, visiting each topic briefly, but with meaningful attention.

After dinner, we came back to the condo and got ready for bed. Wrapped in my blanket, I checked on Aimee just as she had crawled into bed.

We talked a little more, revisiting some of the most satisfying conversations of the day. But, 7:00 p.m here is 1:00 a.m. in London. I could see she was fading!

“Can I add a picture of you, just like this, to the ‘Good Night’ post?”

“Of course.” She smiled and let her eyes close.

Tomorrow, she heads home.

May your life be filled with people who help you think big thoughts and make meaningful memories.

Good night.

Be your best you!

I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. That means so much to me! I am honored and greatly moved.

While most of the content on AGI Stories is free and much of it is public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
