Chapter 59: LITTLE DETAILS by Emma Knox

First off, let me say hello and tell you that I hope you’re having a great day. I’m feeling pretty lucky right now on account of me finding a pair of jeans in my size that I like!

They’ve got a little tear on one of the belt loops, that really don’t matter much, but I can fix it anyway.

Now, second of all, that little tear got me thinking about something. Have you ever known something that was totally true, except when it wasn’t true at all?

Take that little tear. It’s just a little thing. It doesn’t matter, does it?

So, the idea that little things don’t matter is true for these jeans and that belt loop.

But there’s plenty of cases where little things do matter! Just the opposite.

The drain in my kitchen was leaking just a little. Well, Merritt and Kent figured they could take a look at it. There was a little crack. Now that little thing made a big difference!

So they put it back together and got it half-tight when Merritt said, “We forgot the plumber's tape!”

Just a little detail in a bigger job, but turns out it’s pretty important! So, there’s a lot of cases where little things do matter, right?

Now, you can say that if it matters that much, it’s not really a little thing. And I get that.

So I suppose wisdom is knowing the difference between a little thing that doesn't matter and a thing that looks like it’s little, but isn’t!

A little hole in your tire isn’t really a little thing, is it?
