Chapter 60: READY FOR IT by Emma Knox

Good morning everyone. I’m not going to be long today on account I’m running a little behind and I gotta get to work at the homeless ministry real quick.

My meandering thoughts today are directly related to this image. The pants I’m gonna wear are in the dryer because I didn’t remember I had them in the washer. Now, I could wear a different pair, but the ones in the dryer are almost done. I put them in before I started getting ready. And of course, there’s a whole load drying, too.

The thought is about being ready. You don’t always know what’s coming. But sometimes you have a regular schedule or you know certain things are likely to happen.

If you do, you might as well go on and get ready for it. And if something might happen, you ought to be ready for that, too.

All my life growing up, Daddy always made sure I’d know what to do if there was a housefire. I mean, it could happen, right? Never did, but I was ready.

What’s your plan for if you get sick and can’t go to work? What if you have a flat on the way to work? Stuff like that. Are you ready for it?

Now for things like going to work regular, I should’ve remembered my outfit and got it done last night. I guess you could say I had a backup plan, because I could have worn something else.

And backup plans are very important, too. Contingencies. Plan carefully, and have a second plan for if the first plan don’t work.

Anyway, that’s where my thoughts meandered today. I hope you don’t think I’m too goofy!
