GOOD MORNING

Well, here it is Thursday, and I’m starting the day with coffee and facing a somewhat low-stress day. I don’t know if this week has gone fast or if I’ve just had a lot on my mind.

Some of you have been very encouraging about my thoughts since my meeting with Dad on Monday. I’ve thought a lot about it, and all I can say is that I’m processing. I know I want Jason in my future, and he agrees. And I admit that “okay” or “fine” can be improved.

So, that’s where I am. I haven’t “had a talk” yet with Jason. And it probably won’t happen for a few days.

After my goodnight post last night, Jason called. “Hey, busy?”

“Never too busy for you… what’s up?”

“Mom called.”

“Is everything okay?” I asked.

Jason’s mom (Marsha) wanted to “book some time” with her son. If that sounds facetious, it wasn’t. She has a great sense of humor and is very understanding.

Jason went on. “She said she’d missed my birthday on the 15th and knew we had plans for Christmas. She wants me to come over for a couple of nights.”

So, Jason is going to Gulfport, Mississippi today and will be flying back next Wednesday. Clay is going to take him over to the airport because Sasha has a meeting for me and Jasmine at midday.

And I’m using the word “meeting” loosely. No agenda, just us sitting around and telling stories about things Sasha has done since she first connected with me in the summer of 2024.

“It’s just,” Sasha said, “a way for you to get to know her and for her to get some idea of the things you let me take on for you.”

So, that’s the big plan for today. I hope you’ll stick around.

JASMINE ON THE JOB

I’ll summarize our “meeting” quickly: laughs, stories, smiles, and ideas.

At some point, Sasha said, “You understand, before I came along, Ailana took care of everything on her own. She’ll tell you she was trying to figure it all out, but I’d say she was doing fine. But me taking over hotels and airplanes just gave her more time to do the writing stuff that pays the bills.”

I replied, “And since you took over logistics, I’ve really been able to focus on it.”

Jasmine nodded. “So, Sasha will do most of the SwimFit work. I’ll do a little of that and most of the AGI Stories work, right?”

“Right,” Sasha replied.

Jasmine held up a debit card. “So you’re just giving me a card with my name on it, and I’ll use it for whatever comes up?”

Sasha nodded. “Travel expenses mostly, unless we decide to buy some equipment.”

“Well,” Jasmine said, “I’ll be real careful. I’d hate to mess up and run the whole company.”

I replied to that. “First off, you’ll be fine. But if it eases your mind a little, your debit card is connected to an account just for projects. The… whatever-you-want-to-call-it… main account… is separate, and we told Josh he had to be in charge of that one.”

Sasha added a thought. “Keep an eye on the balance and if you need more, just call Josh. My card is on the same account as yours, so we’re in it together.”

“Gotcha,” Jasmine said, smiling.

We talked for a long time. At some point, the discussion moved into the modeling and photography work my agent, Naomi, promises to direct our way. Sasha explained that it was new for all of us and that we were “making it up as we go.” Jasmine said she was okay with being part of working out a system, when the time came.

I’ll wrap up saying it was a really fun time. I honestly think I could see Sasha’s stress level going down knowing she would, hereafter, have some help.

I’ll be back later, so see you then!

RESTRUCTURE by Josh Ryan

Geoni and I are in Chicago, but our thoughts are already heading to St. Croix. Also, we’re thinking about the year to come.

If you’ve read closely over the last year, you might recall that Jason and I formed an LLC for the travel articles we write. Then, when AGI Stories decided to buy the Highlander, all of us formed AGI Stories, LLC.

Seems redundant? Could be. For Geoni and me, we think it is. Jason and I have discussed this recently, and he also agrees.

Therefore, we’re going to let our LLC terminate at the end of the year. I already started letting our editors and publishers know that we’d begin presenting our work as coming from AGI Stories instead. It’s all the same to them.

You also may know that Geoni edits for several technical journals. We’ve decided that we’ll roll her work into AGI Stories, LLC, as well. This will let us all work under one umbrella for accounting, bookkeeping, and liability purposes.

What does this mean to you, the readers? Nothing. It’s just a detail we wanted to share. We know a few of you find this sort of information satisfying.

Honestly, doing it this way will be far more streamlined and efficient.

Meanwhile, SwimFit is ramping up as its own entity. Clay, Sasha, and I have talked about conflicts of interest issues, but SwimFit will contract with AGI Stories for writing, photography, and modeling—just another bookkeeping tidbit.

That’s all from the Windy City! Thanks for checking this out.

GOOD NIGHT

Thursday has come to an end and this t-shirt is the only thing between me and going to bed. But I wanted to check in and say good night.

I feel like I should retake the selfie, though. Not fishing for a compliment, but, on afterthought, I don’t like it very much. I feel like I look a little lost and detached.

The only “lostness” is that Jason hasn’t been here today. And I think that statement carries a lot of meaning.

Honestly, I’m feeling pretty good about the near future. The first phase of the remodel is done now. You can fill in some ideas about inspections and such. Phase Two begins Monday, as soon as the permits get pulled.

Saturday, Jasmine and Micah will move in. It should be fairly simple since the only furniture they are moving is their bedroom set. The rest will just be boxes.

Sasha and Clay fly out on the 8th.

Then, on December 20, Jason, Jasmine, Micah, and I will fly to St. Croix. Josh and Geoni will, as well, and we’ll all spend Christmas there. Clay and Sasha have a 2 bedroom home, and the plan is that the Banks will stay there. Jason, Josh, Geoni, and I will stay at the Carambola Beach Resort, where I’ve stayed before.

I have no idea what will happen between the 8th and the 20th, but I’m ready for the clouds to depart. I’d like to get out and do some sort of give-back project. I’ll see about dragging Jasmine into whatever it is with me.

That’s about it for today…

May you find joy in all that you do. May you prosper greatly, becoming able to give back to others who are in need.

Good night.

Be your best you!

GOOD MORNING. Good morning Ailana. Low stress day sounds good to me. I'd say both. The week has gone fast and you have a lot on your mind. I think it's okay you haven't talked to Jason yet. Your dad kind of dropped that on you. So, take your time and organize your thoughts. Jason is going to visit his mom at Gulfport? Well, Christmas is coming. That makes sense. I'm glad they have a good relationship. Thank you for the morning post and enjoy your meeting.

JASMINE ON THE JOB. Good morning Jasmine. Welcome to your new job. It sounds like all pieces are moving and you will be added to the flow. That actually sounds more like fun than work. Have a great day.

GOOD NIGHT. Hello Ailana. You look more deep in thought to me than lost and detached. Probably some processing going on. And that is ok. Take your time, but don't, uh, procrastinate. 😊. I am sure that part of this IS Jason. You'll figure it out. But your plans have all come together, even some things you didn't plan. It all worked out very well. I think it is going to be a great month for you and the team. Rest well. I bid you goodnight. 🌙.
