EXTENDED STAY by Cindi Curtis
Michael and I are, as you can see, having fast food again. Jordan and Hayes have been gracious in providing breakfast and lunch. Of course, they offered to let us have dinner, too, but there’s an expression about “wearing out your welcome.”
I’ve been here since Monday, and today is Thursday. January 3 is a long way ahead. The idea was that I’d settle into the new location around someone I knew (Jordan). I’ve done that.
I can’t really impose on their hospitality that long, so there’s a plan. Yelp! says that the top rated extended stay hotel in the area is Arrive Memphis. Which just so happens to be a few blocks from Michael’s South Bluffs condo.
Tomorrow, we’re checking it out with the plan that I’ll move in there. The rooms look really nice, and I’ll be able to manage some simple in-room eating.
And… I can go to Michael’s place for dinners and evenings together. We decided it would be an extension of sharing live via FaceTime. We believe our personal moral standards are probably higher than what’s typical for 2025. We know anyone seeing me go in will assume… things. And there’s really nothing we can do about that.
So, that’s the plan.
I realize I’ve not been posting about my devotionals (nor have I posted my sustainability ideas!), so I want to share something today—a devotional thought about God being with us when we face new things.
In every new place and challenge, God is already there. I’m learning that He doesn’t wait for me to feel strong or settled—He meets me in the uncertainty.
Jesus said, “I am with you always” (Matt. 28:20), not when life is easy, but when we’re stepping into the unknown. Even my anxious moments become reminders that His grace fills the gaps I can’t. If you’re facing something new, start here: “You are with me, even here.”
That’s it for today. Hopefully, tomorrow is moving day.
Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just at $100 per month.
Patreon members… You are covering a nice portion of that.
I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. That means so much to me! I am honored and greatly moved.
While most of the content on AGI Stories is free and much of it is public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Again, thank you very, very much.
