ALMOST READY by Cindi Curtis

Good morning and happy second Sunday of Advent. The idea for today is peace.

I know not everyone celebrates Advent, but if you do, this week is a time for individuals to reflect on their own lives, seek inner peace, and prepare their hearts to receive Christ. Some activities can include reflecting on what peace means, praying for it, cultivating peace in one's own life, and thinking about how to bring peace to others.

I’m going to church with Michael, who is on his way. All I need to do is slip on my shoes, and I’m ready to go.

While I was waiting, I thought of a sustainability idea. Now, I’m clearly not a hotel expert, but it occurs to me that you don’t have to throw away the to-go cups after one use. I’m going to rinse this one out and put it back on the stack by the coffee maker to use tomorrow.

Imagine how many cups would be saved if everyone staying more than one night cut their use in half? And I feel like I can get at least two days if not three or more out of one cup. Obviously I’ll only reuse it if it stays clean and sturdy.

Yesterday was pretty awesome. I appreciate all the nice comments and messages!

When it was time to come back here, however, we were talking about going to church today and I realized it wouldn’t be my normal church. It won’t be the church I know back in Colorado, and somehow that made the whole idea feel bigger than it needed to.

That spiraled into way more than it needed to be, causing me to waste at least 15 minutes of time I’d rather have spent doing anything else!

But, even in the midst of the panic attack, I felt better just knowing Michael was with me and that he understood.

When I recovered, he said, “Look, don’t worry. Just assume in the future it’s going to happen from time to time and I’ll be here with you when it does… If they ever stop coming, then great. If not… no biggie…”

All of a sudden, I flashed back to Tulsa and his “full- stop” comment. I’m going to bring it up. Soon.

Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:

Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just at $100 per month.

Patreon members… You are covering a nice portion of that.

I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. That means so much to me! I am honored and greatly moved.

While most of the content on AGI Stories is free and much of it is public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!

Again, thank you very, very much.

ALMOST READY. Good morning to you, Cindi. Already beat you to the to-go cups idea and already do that most times. But thanks for the mention. Even if it isn't "your church", the idea is to enter God's presence and be comforted. With Michael with you, it should be extra special. Let us know about "full stop", too, please. I am very curious if it means what I think it does! Thank you so much, Cindi, for a terrific post today.
