SO MUCH DIFFERENT by Cindi Curtis

Good morning, everyone! I hope your week ahead is blessed and fulfilling! Look at me! I’m doing this visit to Memphis thing! It feels so strange. And good.

Yesterday’s big panic moment came right here in this hotel bathroom. I was getting ready for bed.

The space is hotel-size, not Colorado-home-size, and I probably brought too much stuff. I was a little frazzled looking for makeup remover pads to start with, and knocked my razor off the counter.

Something about the sound it made hitting the floor triggered something. It wasn’t loud. It was just, I guess, sudden. I don’t ever recall anything like that triggering me before, so just mix the moment in with a good helping of new space, new place, and the irrationality of my disorder.

Now, let me add this… If that’s the worst it gets here in Memphis, I’m staying! I remember times back home where I’d be clutching my knees in my safe corner for the better part of a day just because I woke up stricken.

So now I’m working on getting ready for the day.

Status check:

• Pants—final. • Shirt—grabbed it from the dirty pile for the picture. • Makeup—work in progress.• Hair—seconds away from being too dry to style!

Yikes! I should get going, but let me add a quick thought.

As we approach Christmas, remember that all the gifts are symbols. They aren’t the point. They are meant to remind us of the point!
