GOOD MORNING
Yes, I reminded Merritt to do his update. And, yes, I forgot to do mine until just now.
Since coming to New York, I honestly feel like what I’ve learned is that life has to be about more than just work and school. Those things are important. But they are not complete.
For me, school has come to an end, for now. I completed my degree, and my transcript will be updated and ready to be shared after Christmas. Syracuse will invite me to walk in the spring with the rest of the Class of 2026.
My education connected directly to my job at NYC SysCo. I have transitioned from intern to technician. My salary transitioned, too.
So, schooling is done, and I have a job. I’m also part of The Pay It Forward Society’s project team. I agree with Paul Charm—they seem to have a good idea. They want to spotlight issues and needs in the world, and we’re supposed to do that. Mostly, we just wait to hear from them.
Beyond work and school, I decided there has to be more. I started volunteering with the agency where Izzy Duffy works, and that feels like something meaningful. It’s not just building things. It’s building people.
I’ve also decided that, at the age of 24 (next March), I should be thinking about who I want to spend the rest of my life with. Nothing has come up yet, but I did have a wonderful week with a man from London, a gentleman in every way. There was a nice air of “what if” around that whole thing.
I do have a lot of friends. Emma, my roommate, is closest to me. Honestly, I consider everyone here at Crossroads a friend. But sharing rides to NYC SysCo and day-to-day work interactions has made Merritt closer than the rest.
I’m well aware of the theories about male/female friendships being just a holding place for getting closer or going separate ways.
Well, given the living and work situation, I don’t think we’re going separate ways, and since he’s with Emma, anything in the closer realm will have to be platonic.
That feels right, though. Theories aren’t always right.
Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.
Patreon members… You are covering a nice portion of that.
I believe most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. That means so much to me! I am honored and greatly moved.
While most of the content on AGI Stories is free and much of it is public, the hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Again, thank you very, very much.
