GOOD MORNING

Saturday in St. Croix, between Christmas and New Year’s. Seems like a good place to be, if you ask me.

Izzy and Kent are already on the beach, and there’s a plan hatching that will put all of the girls out there later.

Clay’s cooking up a golf day for the guys. Should be interesting—Kent and Micah have never played, and Jason has had only a few rounds. Josh says it's about getting out, not about the golf.

I’ll take his word for it.

Sand? Waves? Sun? I understand those! Best if I stick with what I know, right?

Thanks for being here! Check back soon for more from St. Croix.

BEACH TIME PART ONE by Izzy Duffy

Being on the beach is always nice. As a swimsuit model all those years, I know what I’m talking about. Being on the beach with Kent—so much better!

“So, this sure isn’t Manhattan Beach,” Kent said as we waded out into the waves.

He’s right about that.

Kent’s going golfing (his first time) with the rest of the guys, but there was just no way we weren’t going to hit the beach first. I know this won’t be our last chance, but how could we not?

Ailana came with us, so she’s out here splashing around, too. I think we’re settled in for the long haul, but the other girls are just now making their way here.

We’re going to be here through January 3, so I’m sure I’ll have more to share later.

See you then!

BEACH TIME PART TWO by Sasha Baek-Everett

Ha ha! Bait-and-switch! It’s not Ailana posting.

We all know she’s your favorite, so I started this post with her! But deep down inside, you know you love me, right? You don’t have to answer that!

Okay, so all of the girls are at the beach by the resort. I’ll share a few pics of us. We are having fun.

The boys are off somewhere with a lot of grass, looking for small white balls. Clay sent a picture as proof. It’s at the end!

I actually didn’t need proof—I trust my husband unequivocally. From the land of clichés, he’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

Well, you can see a lot of different swimsuits, right? I know you’re wondering if any of them are SwimFit models.

The red one I’m wearing is. It’s pretty good for the beach and swimming. I’d wakeboard in it with a vest on.

You can’t see much, but Jasmine’s is a SwimFit beachwear model also. She says it feels really great and that the girls are happy and willing to stay put.

Geoni, for the record, is definitely not wearing a SwimFit model. If you ask me, the girls in her picture are about to go for a swim on their own.

Ailana and Izzy are also not in SwimFit models.

Some of you might be wondering about SwimFit. It has not been smooth sailing. Factors related to imports and other international business workings have become complex, and we’re making adjustments.

I’ll keep you posted. I guess this is one thing in the Ailana-verse that hasn’t gone off without a hitch. Not everything is always smooth sailing.

Well, that’s probably enough for a bait-and-switch post.

See you soon!

CALL FROM SIS by Min Aurora

Sometimes, Earth feels really small. Not when you’re walking from Thailand to Singapore. But it does when you’re in the middle of Malaysia and your phone shows a missed call.

Full disclosure, I haven’t hiked the whole way. When Health For Humanity was absorbed by a larger agency, I decided to step away from medical practice and travel by foot, bus, and boat from Thailand to Singapore.

I’m a nurse practitioner, born in Bangalore, India (but my family moved to New Jersey when I was six), so passing through these little villages,I’ve had to bend the plan a little. I’ve done a few procedures along the way.

But just before sunrise here, Vanessa Lenen’s missed call alert showed up. I called her. She’s in New York.

“Min, Amir called…”

Amir was one of the doctors I worked with in Tibet and India over the last two years.

“What’s up?” I asked.

“Your sister has been trying to reach you.”

“Anika is in Hyderabad,” I said.

“So is Amir…” Vanessa replied. “He never told you, did he?”

“Told me what?”

“Min, you need to call your sis… I’m not the one who should tell you this! But, if you ask me, it’s good news.”

So, back to that small world thing. Amir in India called Vanessa in NYC who called me in Malaysia. Just a routine day on planet earth, circa 2026.

I need to call Anika now.

GOOD NIGHT

Well, today has come to an end, but we still have a week left here in St. Croix. So far, I’m really glad we came.

Dad called right after dinner to check in—we hadn’t talked since Christmas Day. He told me about meeting a man on Friday from Sea Turtle Inc. who recognized him from the Denny’s post. Dad said it was a strange feeling.

Dad also said he went by the condos yesterday to see how things were progressing. “Ailana, I hate to bear bad news, but the job foreman isn’t 100% on them being done by January 3. The Seabees might have built airstrips in the jungle in a couple of days, but that didn’t factor in Christmas, New Year’s, and a lot of weekends. I told the guy to call Sasha ASAP.”

I thanked him for the news and said we’d deal with whatever comes up. He said he was sure we would.

Tomorrow is Sunday, and we decided to have our own worship time at Clay and Sasha’s house. It will be a special time, and it won’t feel like we’re making ourselves into a spectacle by all showing up together at a church where we know no one.

I suppose I’m out of things to tell you for tonight. I’ll close by repeating that today was a great day.

May your plans unfold in ways that best meet your needs, even when you don’t yet see why they do.

Good night.

Be your best you!
