GOOD MORNING

Today is a really big day for me. I have a little growing up to do.

I made an offer on a house in Bartlett yesterday, and today I received word that the offer was accepted. There wasn’t much negotiation.

That’s great, but it’s not what I’m talking about.

I need to do laundry.

I’ve been here for over a month, and have done a few loads at Michael’s condo, but always…always, I’ve been strategic about what I carried in—jeans, blouses, socks, khakis.

Michael and I both turn 27 this year. We are planning on getting married—ring shopping is forthcoming. I decided today to stop acting like some middle-school girl blushing uncontrollably because she forgot to zip up her sports bag and her underwear fell out in the hall.

I am sure that—although he has no first-hand, direct evidence—Michael knows I wear bras and panties. Last week, I camped out in the hotel laundry room long enough to run a load of undergarments.

Today—with his foreknowledge—I’m just taking it all to his house. Yes, I’ll blush. Maybe he will, too. But this is as practical as it is a growth moment. I’ll save a few bucks and a lot of time, and once my face stops being red, it will be over, done, and I will have grown a little.

Now, I have no idea what kind of devotional goes with that! How about I just pull up a verse that I think sort of fits!

Psalm 23:4—“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…you are with me.”

Okay, so maybe it’s not that bad! I’ll let you know.
