GOOD MORNING

A new week has begun! On the heels of last week, I find myself slightly behind in my writing, but… I also have some breathing room in my deadlines, so everything is okay on that front.

If you need a quick recap, last week was dominated by the following:

• AGI Creative officially signed the lease on the studio space

• There were discussions regarding Josh and Geoni’s plans to adopt an older child

• With those discussions in mind, the idea of AGI needing another car came up

Josh and Geoni are going to take care of the car thing! They’re going to get themselves a car—having a child makes that sensible—and at the same time, they’ll take care of getting something for AGI Creative.

We also pulled off a quick “need it yesterday” photo session last week, so I’m calling it a good one.

Despite needing to knock out some writing and editing, Jason and I are going to the studio—Sasha will drop us off—to do some more work with the lighting and backdrop systems.

Knowing how to use them is just a start. Being able to get them going and make changes on the fly quickly is key to running an efficient shoot. Today will be about practicing going from one lighting setup to another with minimal time between shots.

I’ll check back in with you and let you know how things are going. See you then!

A MOMENT CAPTURED FOREVER

At first, I didn’t understand the question. When I did, it changed everything.

As I said we would, we came over to the studio to do more practice work with the lighting and backdrop systems. I had just finished some shots of Jason when he looked at me—curiously, as if he were trying to decide whether I liked the shots just by reading my expression, without actually asking me.

I wanted to understand, so I asked a vague, half-laugh question. “What…?”

He shrugged. “Ailana, are you ready?”

I looked at the lights, then at him. “I’m done with this setup. But no… we’re not ready for the next setup… What?”

He shook his head. “Not the photography… you…?”

“Ready?”

“Ready,” he repeated.

A smile formed on my face. “Ready? You mean… marriage?”

“Yeah… Ready to make it official. Set a date. Make it real… Everything.”

“I’ve been ready for a while now! Yes!” I was beaming.

Jason stood to meet me. “Ailana Caitlin Geven… Are you ready to marry me? Are you ready for me to ask you to be my wife?”

My heart jumped and I felt myself literally change. “Jason David Keller… Are you ready to take me on as your wife? Are you ready for this mess of a girl to become yours? If you are, I’m ready. I’ve been ready. Yes—I’m ready!”

“Me too.” Jason smiled. "Then… Shall we plan dinner at Denny’s tonight? See if the ring fits?"

"Yes! That would be perfect! You have a ring already?"

He nodded. “I was going to ask a while back, but I wanted to have it resized first.”

“Resized?” I asked.

“When we did the bracelet shoot, I paid attention to which rings fit you. I sized it based on that.”

“You already had a ring for me?” I put the camera down and went to him.

“I’ve had it since I gave you the stuffed Red Devil. It was my grandmother’s—a family heirloom. I’ve never had a doubt.”

“Can I see it?”

He shook his head. “I want to do it right. Denny’s. Chocolate cake… Like when we first started dating. Full circle. A new chapter begins.”

I smiled even more. “I’m not very hungry. We can start with dessert, right?”

GOOD NIGHT

The ring fits, and now, so does everything else.

Be your best you!

"Thank You" Message to Paying Supporters:

It has been a LONG road for Ailana and Jason. Thank you for traveling it with them!

So a year after Jason returned to Ailana's life after the years they had drifted apart, they are ready to start the next chapter of their lives!

In future Journal entries, you'll learn they will marry in early June—giving them 4 months to plan things out. I am looking forward to unfolding that for you.

Thanks!

It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.

I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.

With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.

My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!

Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.

Again, thank you very, very much.

Common Hamster

GOOD MORNING. Good morning to you. You and the team made great headway through your list last week. But my recommendation for Josh and Geoni is not a car, but a Volvo XC 60 or 90 or an AWD Honda Odyssey. My two cents. And whatever you guys think would work best for your team for the team car. I just know you all need another vehicle. Thanks for the agenda. Look forward to hearing from you later.
