Chapter 58: STARTED STRONG by Emma Knox
Well, I feel smarter already. I’m taking classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday—four total.
I had class today. I’m taking classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday–four total.
I have English Comp and College Algebra in the morning. On Monday afternoon, I have Intro to Psychology. On Wednesday afternoon, I have Chemistry I.
To be honest, it feels like eleventh grade, but without teachers urging me to do the work. It’s my education, my grades, my responsibility. I’m not saying they don’t care. It’s just not a high school mood anymore.
Now, I bet some of you are wondering why I have all this paper around me—digital era, and all that.
Call me old-fashioned (as if a 21-year-old can be old-fashioned), but I like to do math on paper. Some of the mess is chemistry notes.
And I bet some of you are wondering why I’m in the library—digital age and all that.
It’s quiet here. And it smells like… knowledge. If you know, you know.
I like the vibe of being here.
Also, don’t worry about me being alone in the middle of nowhere. I picked a place in view of the circulation desk. Plus, I always have pepper spray in my pocket. I’ve carried it since I was 13 and used it twice.
Now, someone is gonna ask about that, so I’ll say once walking home from school and once when I worked at the casino washing up dishes. Those are stories for another time, I suppose.
I almost used it another time when I was walking from where I got let off and a dog came at me. Between me yelling like a banshee and the owner screaming like a raging lunatic, it stopped and let me pass.
So, that's about all for now. I’m going to go over everything one more time, then head to the bus stop.
Thanks for reading my story.
Be your best you!

Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:
It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.
I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.
My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!
Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post, not counting hardware, AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month.
Again, thank you very, very much.
