GIRLS’ DAY by Jordan Warner

Since Cindi deputized me last night, I decided I’d handle things until she gets to Hot Springs. I wouldn’t count on a post Saturday night, if I were a betting person.

Today, Friday, is all-girls-on-deck day. Mom’s, sisters, and friends. Brunch? Indeed. Now, we’re walking around Shelby Farms before we have a spa afternoon.

The rehearsal is this afternoon, and then… Yeah, this is going to happen… Dinner will be at McEwen’s downtown on Monroe.

So, the moms sort of teamed up to have us all pose, and yet…! They declined to be photographed. What a surprise, right.

Rachel, Michael’s sister, says there are nearly no pictures of her mom that are from Christmas or Easter. I politely told Mrs. Allen that the groom’s mother would most likely end up photographed. More on that later…

I know many of you have been wondering about the wedding and my secret plan. After the Soul Fish dinner last night, where Cindi balked at having everyone at the table looking at her (imagined or otherwise), I’m declaring my plan a win.

Just a hint—it’s kinda traditional, but totally not. She gets her place in the center ring—bad metaphor—but she, her mom, and I think she’ll feel safe and peaceful.

My backup plan—if she gives me the signal—is to shove everyone out of the room except the bride, groom, and minister. Of course, I’ll stay with them! There has to be a witness, right?

Knowing who I am, I feel like this next request is thin ice…

Trust me.

Everyone will be satisfied, and Cindi will be comfortable the whole time.
