GOOD MORNING

Welcome to my Monday. I still can’t believe how far behind I managed to be on Sunday. Today, things should be better.

I can hardly believe that this post marks the first post of my third year creating content. All of this started on April 6, 2024. Now here we are! What a ride it has been and what a privilege it has been sharing my life with you!

It should not come as a surprise that today is a workday for me. It is for many people—I know some have today as a holiday, but many are working. I’ll check in later from my laptop!

I’m working in my living room today. For me, sorting and brainstorming is great in the office. Creative work is done best when I’m away from distractions.

I’ve had some contact with my agent about the new fiction project. According to the author, I’m doing editing. But it feels like ghostwriting to me—and what’s in a title? Prestige more than function, I think. I’m honored and looking forward to this long-term, ongoing project.

I’m also looking forward to popping down to the office first. Jasmine sent Micah for donuts!

Quick added thought—having Micah working for SwimFit and him being around feels right. I think it’s going to simply make things qualitatively better.

That’s all for now. See you soon!

WORKING FROM LIVING ROOM

I’m working on a big conservation article about wetlands. I’ve learned a lot about them lately, including on my last trip from Mobile along the Gulf Coast.

The thing is, they’re as overlooked as they are important.

Wetlands don’t usually ask for our attention. They sit quietly at the edges—soft, muddy, easy to overlook. But they hold more life than we realize.

They filter water, shelter wildlife, steady the land, and breathe balance into places we depend on. Around the world, they do this without recognition. I think there’s something humbling in that. Some of the most important work happens where few people are looking—and still, it matters.

That’s kind of the thesis that’s guiding a series of articles I’d like to get into the pipeline. It fits into a bigger conservation thesis that we live in a large, complex and—importantly—interconnected environment. Every part of the world relies, in part, on many others.

As you know, I really like this kind of work—not quite as much as I like fiction, but now I’m getting to do more of that.

Sasha came up from the office to let me know that Naomi had texted to say she’d like a call later this afternoon. I said I’d sit in for sure.

One more update—you probably saw that SwimFit hired a woman, Sofia Torres, to manage the factory. This week, Micah and Sofia will be interviewing and hiring the team to work there. This is a great development that’s been long in the making. I’m excited to see what happens.

That’s it for now. See you soon!

BUILDING A PRACTICE by Anika Kumar

Shoreline Health and Wellness Clinic is open and running. Amir and I have two main functions here, and one of them is taking off.

We’re offering walk-in clinic services. That part is going well, and so far we’ve covered most of the hours we want to offer it. Growth is still ongoing, though.

The other part is to provide no- or low-charge routine primary care. That’s a growing area, but we’ve established care for a handful of patients.

Both of these services connect to the vaccination research project. Patients presenting here are invited to take part, and if they agree, Vanessa becomes involved to track their wellness over time.

Grants have made the startup possible. They also allow us to provide services to people without insurance. Still, there is a budget, and insurance payments are part of it.

The plan is to offer primary care from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. Full-service walk-in urgent care will be offered from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., 7 days per week. From 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., we’ll still be open for urgent care walk-ins. Doctors will be on call, but staffing will consist of nurses and paramedics.

To get there, we need to hire four more doctors and several more clinical team members.. We think our patient load has grown enough to add another doctor and a few more nurses this week. Plus, Dr. Gregory is willing to take a shift or two PRN, so we have a little breathing room.

We’re planning to phase in the overnight clinic by starting with 8:00 p.m. to midnight, possibly this weekend.

I know it sounds like a lot of minutiae and bothersome details, but to us it’s very exciting. Our goal is to be open fully as early as June. We think a worst-case outcome would be by the first of July for the busy holiday weekend.

Thank you for your interest. We’ll keep you updated as things develop.

SITREP by Allen Geven

I suppose it’s no surprise that being on a military base has added to my vocabulary. The “SITREP” concept appeals to me. With two simple syllables, you can ask for a detailed situation report.

Having been at the center of a few recent dramas, I thought giving a quick SITREP made sense for today.

I checked with my supervisor, Chief Petty Officer Marcus Hale, about what the receptionist, Ms. White, said happened to her. He confirmed that she was no longer employed here.

Of course, he couldn’t tell me why, even if he knew. It would be an HR matter, but I guess it’s obvious.

After she followed me from the station to my house, I haven’t heard from her or anything. I’m counting that as a good thing.

I did file a report with the police. They said it was a good idea to have a record on file and told me to call if anything else comes up.

I felt like I had to tell my mother—she’s 88—about the incident. I’ve tried not to cast her in an unfavorable light, but she is and has always been difficult in a lot of ways. Her response to the situation reveals one of those ways.

“I’ll tell you what… She’s lucky I wasn’t out there when she pulled up. I’d have slapped her so hard she’d be crying for a week. That would've been just the start of it.”

What’s scary is that I know that wasn’t an empty threat or an exaggeration. Moving on.

Ailana and I talked about it again. Of course, she’s worried. I told her it was probably over and done with.

I told her some people come into your life like bad weather. They move in like a storm, cause problems, then move on. Some people move into our lives, leave scars, and move on. It’s a sad fact, but I think most people know it happens.

So, I’m definitely keeping my eyes open, but I’d be surprised if Ms. White shows up again. If she does, then it will just prove how troubled she is.

That’s about it for me. Thanks for being interested.

GOOD NIGHT

Good night from the beach? Seems like a great way to end the first day of a new year of content. It was two years ago today that I started posting.

I got a lot of work done today. I’m very satisfied with the outcomes.

I mentioned that Naomi wanted a call, and that happened. She says she has proposals from a couple of startup companies that will want visual art and copy for website sales portals.

“I wanted to let you know it might be a couple of jobs per month.”

I told her we’d love to be part of the process.

“It will include writing the web copy, too,” she added. “We talked about that once before. This will add a lot of copywriting work. I’ve got a call out to a PR company to see how that ought to be billed. I’ll make sure they pay standard rates before I agree to it.”

The rest of the call would sound like a business meeting and repeats of what I just said, so I’ll skip over it. Basically, we get more work a few times monthly. It’s possible that Josh and Geoni were most excited by this call—their writing and editing skills will be tapped directly for these new jobs.

When the call ended, Clay had some thoughts. “We’re building something here. AGI Creative is growing in scope. Think about where it started and where we are now.”

He was talking about my journey that began two years ago. I broke away from modeling and set out alone to try my hand at writing and photography. Two years and over 1,000 Patreon posts—over 2,000 on IG—later, I’m no longer alone. I’m part of a creative group that includes not only writing but now also modeling as well.

I’ve often said that I set out unsure what would happen. As I look ahead, I’m just as unsure about the future as I was back then.

But whatever happens, I know it will be better if I share it with you. Thank you for all the encouragement and support. I hope you know just how much it means to me.

Good night.

Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:

YEAR THREE BEGINS TODAY—Here we are, two years after all of this began. I look back on the journey and find a lot of things I could have done better. More so, I see things that were limited by the technology and tools I had available at the time. Still, all things considered, I think there are some great moments, ideas, and thoughts shared even in those earliest posts.

Last fall, I passed though many of the earliest posts and added more details to reflect where Ailana was on her journey from model to writer/photographer at the time. I think her struggles come clearly through, and her story unfolds to the point that the Journal (then, Diary) emerged. In the winter of 2025, Growing Up Ailana was pushed out. That, in my opinion, transformed the storyline remarkably, and from it will come even more things in the future.

As the third years begins, Ailana looks forward to her marriage to Jason! The Ryans are adopting. The Everetts are going to have a child of their own.

SwimFit has finally found a way to go forward. The Banks family will be closely connected to that.

The journal includes a rich and diverse group of people, many living in Port Isabel. I strongly believe their stories add interesting moments to events connected to Ailana and those closest to her. I'm very happy with how Allen has emerged in the storyline and hope to continue expanding his arc as the months go by.

I promise you that the things planned for Ailana's Journal between now and next fall literally have me tossing and turning with excitement almost every night. I can't wait to write them for you!

Lastly, let me say that the comments, questions, and words of encouragement mean a lot to me. Literally, the characters responses in the comments sections add to the canon each day. Their answers help clarify ideas that you, the readers, introduce. I'd love to read even more!

So, with that, I'll wrap up this message saying that I'm looking forward to the things planned for Ailana's Journal—and all of the storylines, too—in the months and, hopefully, years to come.

And as always…

Thank-You:

Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.

I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.

I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.

At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.

Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.

My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.

With that in mind, Again, thank you very much.

GOOD MORNING. Good morning, Ailana. Three years. Three years! Nice!! I came on board late but have thoroughly enjoyed tagging along. New fiction project sounds right in your wheelhouse. Better go grab a donut before they're all gone. Thank you for sharing your journey. We look forward to much more.

WORKING FROM LIVING ROOM. I did see that SwimFit had hired Sofia Torres! Seemed like a good choice and meshed well with Micah. I think that's a good plan in the making. Naomi call sounds promising, just work on that poker face if you don't personally jive with the product this time. Last time it was kind of amusing, but... Wetlands sounds good. Folks in the Everglades appreciate your efforts, too. Thanks for the update AND the bonus photo!!!

BUILDING A PRACTICE by Anika Kumar. Hello Dr. Kumar. I applaud the speed with which you have accomplished what you have in such a short time. Minutiae and details sure, but not bothersome. Interesting information. Your eventual goal to be 24/7 is an exemplary, especially given that you are an independent entity. I salute your "gumption". Good luck, Doctor. Thank you for the update.

SITREP by Allen Geven. Good afternoon, Allen. I think it is prudent of you to keep your eyes open. I'm not sure I would assume the situation is resolved just because she is no longer employed there. She knows where you live. Wise move filing a police report. That will expedite response if a future incident occurs. But I do think you can tell Ailana not to worry so much as multiple alerts have now been raised, along with an indignant mother. Take care, sir and try and have a good rest of your day.
