GOOD MORNING

Again, I woke up before the alarm. The details of the St. Louis trip are swirling in my mind this morning.

What do I need to do to make the trip go smoothly and successfully? What can I do today to make things easier?

I’ve got a few things in mind.

Time for another coat of Generative Fill Nail Polish. This stuff is great.

I’m going to drag Jason on a quest to Walmart to get travel-size shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and all that sort of thing. We’ll stock up for everyone, so I’ve sent texts asking about brands and… Okay, I use Colgate toothpaste, but there’s a zillion variations… I’m asking everyone to just text me pictures!

This next thing is kind of a me thing. I’ve got some cute high-heel sandals that I’m going to wear today. Some of the shots in St. Louis call for heels, and the hours can add up. At the height of my modeling career, I was good to go in heels all day, day after day.

Call today a little physical training. I’ll try to work up my heel stamina before we fly out Monday.

Lastly, Jason and I are heading to the studio. We’ll pack gear into flight cases and get it all ready to go. Thinking that through and getting it right are a huge part of making the campaign a success.

So that’s the plan. Of course, I’ll check in with you a few times as we go along.

See you soon.

TRAVEL SUPPLIES

Just a quick check-in from Walmart. As promised, we have a list from everyone.

Jason is behind the buggy giving modeling directions. Yes, people are staring! But we’re okay with it and having fun.

And in our defense…

There were some tourists posing for shots at the suntan lotion display. Honestly, I wish everyone in the world could have as much fun and joy as they seemed to be having.

Maybe there’s a little lesson there. Make memories. Have fun. Share life with others. Laugh like no one is watching.

From here, we’re heading to Sea Glass for lunch, then to the studio to start packing. I shared that in this morning’s post, so I won’t repeat it here.

We’re going to take it slow and do it right. We’ll pick up the flight cases on the way to the airport Monday—Clay and Micah will drive us, then head over to the SETA cut-and-sew factory.

I’m afraid I’m getting too excited about this trip. It’s really clicked with me, and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.

I’ll be back tonight to say good night, as usual, so I’ll see you then.

A CLOSE CALL by Mateo Alvarez

A CLOSE CALL by Mateo Alvarez—Well, you can bet I’ll say an extra long prayer of thanks before bed tonight. I’m still a little shook.

I just got out of school and need to hit a few of my yard-work customers on the south end of the island. I stopped at McDonald’s for dinner and decided to go in and use the bathroom.

On my way in, I saw one of my customers, Mr. Geven, on his way out. I jogged over and asked him if everything was okay with the two yards he put me on. He said his mother was never happy about anything, so that means I'm doing fine. He said that at his daughter’s place, everyone there was very happy.

We shook hands and I turned to go back inside. I was kinda watching him go to his truck and pulling out my phone to see what time it was when a small brown SUV blasted past me, going the wrong way and way too fast. If I’d taken one step to my right, it would’ve hit me.

I just froze and, like, flashed back fifteen seconds or something.

Shaking hands…

Heard a car door slam…

Heard another door open and slam closed…

An engine started up…

Next thing, a car blasted past me.

Now, I know I’m just a junior in high school. But maybe my near miss can be a lesson.

I was just checking the time. Looking down at my phone—not looking where I was going.

One misstep and I would have been hit. The guys joke about “go play in traffic” because we all know it’s dangerous.

I learned a lesson today.

Awareness first. Look up and watch for traffic. Keep your eyes open.

Last thought. What if I had also been behind the wheel?

You bet, I’m saying an extra long prayer of thanks tonight!

GOOD NIGHT

On the way home, Jason asked if I wanted to stop for Italian ice cream. I’m not even sure what it is, but I said yes.

He also thought having me model on the steps was good practice.

“Practice for what?” I asked.

“Practice at taking your picture.”

I posed rather plainly. “You practice doing that almost every day.”

He snapped a shot. “And your point is?”

I thought about it for a moment, posed again, and said, “I guess I really don’t have a point.”

So, we’re going in for Italian Ice Cream. I’m pretty sure it won’t be marinara flavored.

This place, Sugar Freezz Cafe, is about halfway between our condo and the church—right on the way to the Causeway. We’ve never stopped before, despite driving by it an uncounted number of times.

When I stop to think about it, I wonder how many other local treasures we’ve never stopped to visit. Maybe I need to be more intentional about picking places to visit—and to share with you.

With that, I’ll wrap up this day.

May you always improve your skills, find joy in the little things, and discover places that make you smile. May you laugh with those you love and share smiles with strangers.

Good night.

Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:

Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.

I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.

I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.

At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.

Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.

My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.

With that in mind, again, thank you very much.

GOOD MORNING. Good morning, Ailana. You're really building up the St. Louis trip. I hope it is as exciting as you hope. I'm sure at this point, Walmart runs are just part of the journey. When going on safari, even to mysterious St. Louis, intrepid explorers need supplies. Heel stamina? Walking a lot in those high heels is going to shape those calves just right, too. Ok. Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the agenda. Have a great day.

TRAVEL SUPPLIES. Those high-heel sandals are cute. And they go great with that dress. Nice job! Good advice, there. Sea Glass for lunch sounds pretty terrific, too. Did you say Izzy was going? Is Kirina going this time? Come on, of course it's gonna be fun! Thanks for posting.

GOOD NIGHT. I think I'm safe in saying I don't think Jason will ever tire of taking your picture. The emotions there are just so deeply felt. hat was a good dialogue. I don't know what Italian ice cream is, either, but it sure sounds good. Thanks for the bonus photo. Love that over the shoulder glance. Thanks for the evening post. I wish you both a good night. ⭐️.
