DINNER IN NASHVILLE by Cindi Curtis Allen

I just wanted to check in and let you know our day in Nashville has gone well. We visited Centennial Park after Michael finished with his meetings. Now, we’re in the Nashville River Front area.

Michael and I are meeting Carter and Jordan soon for dinner. We’re eating at Puckett's Restaurant, which is a casual dining venue with decent prices.

Hayes and Roman are having dinner with their families tonight. Family only.

The wedding rehearsal is actually in the morning. Then meals. Then the wedding preparations. Then the wedding.

I feel like it will be a simple day because Hayes does things that way.

For the actual ceremony—because Hayes wanted me to have a part but understands my anxiety—Jordan and I will process in normally as bridesmaids, but then take spot and take seats in the second row. Michael and Carter will enter with Roman, then join us in the second row at a designated point.

That will leave the bride, groom, and minister on the platform alone for the actual ceremony. At the end, we’ll stand as Hayes starts down the steps and follow her out.

I think it will be lovely, and I’m confident I can do it. Michael insists there’s nothing to worry about.

I countered, “I could have a breakdown, cry on the floor like a crazy woman, and ruin Hayes’s wedding.”

Michael’s reply didn’t help much, but it was funny. “That would probably go viral as a reel.”

My goal is to not go viral. Who’s with me on that?

I feel sure I’ve shared this verse before, but it fits perfectly for me right now:Philippians 4:6–7—“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
