GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller
Today’s good-morning post comes from the AGI omissions and overlooked department.
In the midst of all of yesterday’s Northwest Indiana adventures, other things were happening elsewhere.
First of all, Clay and Sasha made it to their afternoon closing meeting for their new house. Deal done. House bought. Utilities hooked up. The furniture delivery schedule was also confirmed, and that happens today.
Everything went smoothly. Utility hookups, Sasha reported, were almost as complicated as the closing.
By the end of today, Sasha and Clay should have the few pieces of furniture they wanted to move set up in the new house. The furniture that was ordered should be delivered as well.
Also not discussed yesterday—we’re pulling out today and heading home. I mentioned we’d decided to long-haul it back. I don’t know if I said when we were doing that, and if I said anything other than today, I got it wrong.
We planned on leaving five minutes ago to start the trek to McAlester, Oklahoma. Driving time is estimated to be a bit more than eleven hours. We’re calling it thirteen with stops—which will be brief, few, and far between.
Guess who needs to get dressed and get to the Highlander?
See you soon!

DON’T MOVE by Ailana Geven Keller
“Don’t move!” Jason was way too excited by me sitting down at McDonald’s. He grabbed his iPhone and started directing.
He showed me this one and said, “Something about the lighting caught my eye.”
I’m not complaining. I was just surprised.
There comes a point as a photographer when you start naturally translating what you see with your eyes into what you think you can capture with your camera. It’s an interesting phenomenon.
Well, we’re somewhere between Chicago and tonight’s hotel—Lebanon, Missouri, if you’re looking for us. But you better hurry… We’re getting our food to go!
We’re calling this the one-fourth-there moment.
I’ll check in from the hotel later! See you soon
GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller
Long-haul day one: done. We made it to a hotel in McAlester, Oklahoma, and no one is mad. Everyone, however, is tired.
But Kel and Emily weren’t too tired for a dip in the indoor hotel pool. They splashed around for half an hour while Jason and I sat on the side watching them.
Everyone is in their rooms now. Emily left the door between our rooms open for a little while, and I could hear her and Kel talking and laughing.
It ended with, “Okay, see you tomorrow. I’ll ride in the RV and work on the Buckley article in the morning. Then we can ride together after the first stop.”
She came back in for hugs and to say good night. Then she went back to her room and closed the door.
Something about that moment brought tears to my eyes.
Jason noticed and said, “I know, right?”That was enough to bring on a few more happy tears.
May your days end with moments that remind you that you matter.
Good night.
