RETHINKING by Naomi Prior

I left work early today to do some biking along the Chicago Lakefront Trail. And some thinking.

When I decided to go to South Padre Island and model with Ailana Geven Keller, I’m not sure I thought through everything. I knew it would be fun. I knew AGI Creative would make the experience relaxed and easy.

I wasn’t expecting the results to be so satisfying. I sure wasn’t expecting the rush of feelings I thought I had left behind ages ago!

I started Prior Talent Group in 2002, after bad agencies, petty models, and thoughtless photographers had taken much of the charm out of modeling. I’d been doing it since I was 16 in 1993, and by then, the industry had worn me down.

Working with AGI Creative revived the good feelings I remembered from when I was first starting out. With Jason, Geoni, and Ailana behind the camera, it felt like the focus was on the look, the mood, the feeling, and—as Ailana says—the story behind what we were modeling. That felt very right to me.

I have a lot to think about right now—about myself and about being in front of the camera again. Not every shopper wants to see the clothes they’re considering on teenage models. Maybe there’s a niche for models with a few more miles on their tires.

And as for miles… I want to finish this ride. I’ll shower at the office before I head home.

That’s all from me for now. But I’m thinking I’ll find my way back to AGI sooner rather than later. How does this sound—I book AGI Creative for another project and pay myself to be one of the models?
