GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller
I promise I wanted to be creative. I tried to think of a nice, interesting, different way to start today.
Jason to the rescue. “Just grab a blanket, back up into the light and smile. We’ve got a busy day.”
He’s right about the day. I decided to share the image and get going!
Tomorrow is a travel day. Most of the AGI crew will be heading to Chicago for a few days.
The big event of the trip is for Aria to meet all of Josh’s family. That’s going to be pretty cool. Possibly a little nerve-racking for her, but Kel will be with her. Geoni says Emily should meet the grandparents, too, and for the first time since I’ve known her, Emily seems shy about that.
“What will they think it means?” she asked me.
“Probably that you’re dating Kel?” I asked.
More on that as it develops!
Today, I’m going to set up some folders and make a list of places I want to visit on the trip. After lunch, Jason and I are packing up the studio—you recall the color-coded cases from the Route 66 trip, right?
We realized too late that we should have packed everything earlier and let someone drive it up—Sasha says to blame Bump for that, and next time, that will be our plan. It’s a 21-hour drive, and we need the gear on Thursday, so we’ll bite the financial bullet and let Blue Water Express do its overnight delivery thing.
Aside—if you missed it, “Bump” is the placeholder name Sasha is using for her baby. She’s due to deliver in January 2027.
That’s it for me for now. I’ll be back later, so see you then.

MODELS EVERYWHERE by Ailana Geven Keller
I feel like modeling is getting more and more attention for AGI Creative. Jason reminded me that you can SEE samples of the modeling easily. Samples of the writing don’t stand out as much.
I said before that Jasmine, Kaylee, and Min are heading to Atlanta to do some work for Naomi. I also mentioned that Mallory Bennett, one of the models who has been through the boot camp experience, is joining them for the shoot.
On Thursday, we have a big shoot in Chicago. Kaylee has to come back here to keep up with her First Call duties, but Jasmine will meet us in Chicago to be part of the shoot.
Naomi lives in Chicagoland, and she’s going to be part of the shoot, too. I also reached out to Danielle—she is one of the models now using AGI as her agent to be part of Naomi’s Gen X Team—who also lives in the Chicago area, and she’ll be part of the session as well.
So, all that’s left before Thursday is getting everything packed and shipped. Jason and I are tackling that right after lunch… which is happening pretty much immediately.
That’s it for now. See you soon.
DISAPPOINTED DAD by Gabe Morales
Mateo Alvarez here… I’m starting Gabe’s chapter because I know he’d say less than he should.
I was about ten steps behind Gabe and Jenna on the way to lunch. Out of the blue, this dude right in front of Gabe—Tony Summer—whacked his girlfriend—Andrea Delgado—across the chest with the back of his arm. Hard.
She reached up and bent forward, and he punched her in the back. She lurched forward and dropped her phone.
When he pulled back his arm to punch her again, Gabe grabbed him by the crook of his elbow and pulled his arm back and up. Tony was wailing like a middle schooler and took a swing at Gabe.
Gabe pushed him into the lockers hard, then took him down like an MMA star and knelt on his back, never relaxing the hold on his arm.
Tony was still crying about his arm. “Get off me! You’re breaking my arm.”
Gabe didn’t budge until the campus cop showed up. “What’s going on?”
Then a dude named Miguel Rubio—like Mr. Popular, star of the football team—spoke up. “Summer was beating on his girlfriend and Morales took him down.”
I was low-key surprised Rubio knew who Gabe was. But nobody in the school would doubt Rubio. Gabe ended up in an assistant principal’s office.
~~
“Gabe,” the Assistant Principal said, “you’re in a little trouble here.”
“What’s going to happen to Summer? He’s 18 and she’s 16.”
“I can’t talk about the consequences for the other student.”
I laughed. “I’ll Google it. Dude’s an adult beating on a minor. And… Whatever…”
The Assistant Principal pulled up something on the computer then looked at me. “You’ve never had an incident before.”
“Ma’am, I’m a good kid. But I wasn’t going to let that guy hit her again. Is she alright?”
The AP looked at me and hesitated, then answered. “She went to the nurse.”
I thought back to what happened and shook my head. “I wish I’d have grabbed him before he punched her.”
“Mr. Morales, do you think this incident is going to disappoint your parents?”
“I’m sure it will,” I said. “But not for the reason you think.”
The rest of this chapter is exclusive to Patreon.
“What do you mean by that?” the Assistant Principal asked me.
“They always say I shoot my mouth off when I ought to stay quiet. Well, this time, I should have said something. I heard rumors he was hitting her last spring. Like, we have an anonymous tip line… The one time I kept my dumb mouth closed… And I could’ve stopped it. And no telling what she went through all summer…”
She was quiet for a minute, then she said, “So that’s what they’ll be upset about?”
I looked down and nodded. “I think my dad’s uncle used to hit his aunt. Dad’s gonna be really disappointed.”
I think that sort of shook her. She started typing and clicking the mouse.
After a little while, she said, “You realize you have to get a consequence.”
“Yes, ma’am. I understand. Rules and policies have to be followed. But I don’t guess I was thinking about that at the time. I couldn’t just watch him hit her again.”
She typed and clicked some more. “Gabe, you seem like a smart kid. And your grades this semester are good. Why were they so average before now?”
I took a deep breath. “I didn’t see the point before. My dad has a shop. We fix golf carts and boats.”
“You didn’t see the point before? Now you do?”
I wasn’t sure what she was trying to get to, but I didn’t think I had anything to lose. “I was talking to a girl this summer and told her something. She didn’t laugh at me.”
“Something about school?”
“Yes ma’am. I told her I’d like to go somewhere… Costa Rica or Guatemala, maybe… I want to teach English to little kids. I don’t know if that’s a thing, but… Like I should probably pass high school…”
“You want to be a teacher?”
“I dunno… Yeah, I guess that’s what it is.”
Her radio went off telling her to check her text messages on her phone. “Copy… Thanks…”
She looked at her phone, typed something, then went back to her screen. She typed a lot more.
A few minutes later her radio went off again. “Your student’s father is in the small conference room.”
“Copy… we’re on our way.”
“So,” I said, “I know I’m getting put out of school for fighting. When do I get to come back?”
She looked at me. “It’s more complicated than just a fight. There’s a lot of factors.”
“Yes ma’am. When can I come back?”
“When you get back on Tuesday after Labor Day, I’ll have an appointment for you with your counselor. You need to look at colleges where you can prepare to teach English as a second language, maybe internationally.”
I let that sink in as we walked toward the small conference room. “Yes, ma’am. Tuesday.”
“Anything else before we talk to your father?”
“Nah… Just, he’s going to kill me for not speaking up last spring when I heard rumors.”
“Well, speaking up then might have made a difference. But we can’t address what could have happened. We just deal with what did happen and keep going.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller
Hope everyone had a great Tuesday. I stayed busy, but I think I’m ready to travel tomorrow.
If you’ve missed some chapters and don’t know what’s going on, you can go back and review. But in short, the AGI team is heading to Chicago tomorrow. Josh and Geoni will introduce Aria to Josh’s family. AGI will have a big photo session on Thursday and then spend a few more days doing that content collection thing we do.
Or, in other words, business as usual plus Aria!
Jason and I got everything we will need from the studio packed and shipped as planned. All that’s left is to get up tomorrow and head out.
I don’t think I have anything profound to say tonight. The most interesting thing going on is that Emily is perseverating on meeting Kel’s grandparents and wondering what they’ll think it means.
I told her I think it means that she and Kel are dating and things are going pretty well. That’s far enough to go for sixteen-year-olds.
She only partly accepted my answer.
I suppose it is normal that I look at her and try to remember what I was like at her age. I know that’s not an accurate comparison, but it’s the best I can do. And—naturally—I’ve Googled developmental issues, which probably only adds another perspective that might be too general to apply specifically to Emily.
Honestly, I think she’s doing pretty well, all things considered. I’m trying to show her that she’s loved—no strings attached. Little by little, I think she’s accepting that.
I suppose we all have areas where we need to grow, right?
Well, I should close this chapter and call it a day. Travel days always come with time demands, so I guess this is it for now.
Good night.
Be your best you!
