The moon beast was a joke that started in apotheosis (i think) so it lacks alot of lore as it was a just a beast that was the moon, If you want more moonbeast watch apotheosis

Ok apparently the guys were just talking about what the most powerful creature/animal would be off pod and they settled on moonbeast as the most powerful of them all. Then, it showed up in either riptide or apotheosis first as an inside joke (my bet is on riptide because grizzly was not having it but in apotheosis he was so for it) and has been a fixture in this show since. None of the guys can explain exactly why the moonbeast is the most powerful, just that it is hahaha
