Another great video, Eleonora. Keep up the great work, and we love to learn something new about retro systems 😄❤️

Nice video, and great idea to make one about the history of the VIC-20. I spent hours playing on it, especially Voodoo Castle 😁. Maybe you could make more historical videos, maybe about the IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2… They would definitely be interesting, considering your dedication and attention to details. 😍👋🏻

Whatever happened to NEC?

Markintosh

Another computer I’ve never heard of! Very interesting-thank you!

NEC is still around: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEC However, they spun off much of their businesses into separate companies (Lenovo, Renesas, Elpida). In that way their history is somewhat similar to Motorola, which used to be a highly integrated electronics giant, but then sold off more and more of its business units.

Wasn't the Commodore the first multitasking computer? I remember computers would do one operation at a time, until the Commodore hit the market. We waited with bated breath for it to hit the market. (did I just show my age?...lol) **Okay, I looked it up. And in the U.S. the first multitasking computer was "The Commodore Amiga 1000, released in 1985" It looks like the Vic-1001 was futuristic / before it's time for it's 1980 release date.
