Hey Folks! It's James. Dael, Matt, and I are taking your questions about the MCDM RPG RIGHT NOW. We already had a BUNCH asked over on the announcement post for this stream, but we'll also be answering them in chat. We'll get to as many as we can, and if we don't get to yours, don't worry, there will be more Patreon livestreams in the future!

Also, if you couldn't make it live, don't worry. The video will stay archived and attached to this post.

Let's talk about Heroes, Tactics, Fantasies, and Cinemas.

Quick start guides are great, maybe those should be a free download rather than eating page count.

Any chance of a "Digital Tools" backer tier?

Could an interlude possibly give back a recovery?

Thanks team, that was real fun, having Dale as the in between really made it feel more fun and engagin instead of "just" really full of information that was cool to learn about. I am looking forward to this game getting to a stage where we can play now, where we can engage with it!

Great stream! I gotta say though, I disagree with Matt's point about digital tooling. D&D's digital tools have historically been poor (4e excluded) not because of being official/unofficial, but because WOTC holds back critical content from being in the SRD. Try making a third-party character creator and then having an endless stream of complaints about why there's only one subclass available per class! Unless you're able to go through the process of working out a licensing arrangement with WOTC, like D&D Beyond did, the fact that key details aren't in the SRD (especially around classes) makes tooling difficult. Third-party adventures, supplemental subclasses, etc., that's all fine for how it's set up, but *tooling* suffers if half the details are verboten. If you're willing to be more complete with what you put under an open license, then I think you have a passionate and creative community who can put together the tools that will be useful for them. Not saying you shouldn't also think about making official tools, but the unofficial ones can be good too *so long as you let them be.*

Hey, I'm at work so I can't join but I have questions regarding the VTT. It may be /way/ too early to ask, but will the VTT have public dev tools like foundry does? I would love to do some amature development on it.

I like the “Incident” from careers also. I think it would be cool to go back to comics for help with fleshing it out more and take inspiration from the “Defining Moment” of a superhero’s origin and apply that as a defining part of a character’s history that can speak to character’s motivation and/skeletons in their closet. For example, the death of loved ones drives Spider-Man’s sense of responsibility and Batman’s need to mete out justice, Iron Man’s guilt motivates him to become a better person after being confronted with the sins from his family legacy, the Hulk is cursed by the power of his rage from an experiment gone awry, though he still manages to do good with it.
