[Summer Vacation Special] Part 8 of the 10-Part Series Featuring My Early Works!

Release Date: February 2017

To be honest, my memory of this work is pretty hazy, and I hardly remember anything about the time I created it.

However, I managed to release it about three months after the previous work.

I probably used a long vacation to draw it all in one go.

Back then, my coloring technique was incredibly simple.

After applying the base colors, I used just a single shade for the shadows.

Nowadays, there’s so much finishing work involved that the amount of effort required is completely different.

I think I could complete the storyboard from start to finish in just one day back then.

I created this work because I wanted to draw a scene where someone was sleeping again.

Because of that, the character literally slept the entire time, from start to finish.

I think I was able to draw so quickly because I wasn’t thinking about anything else—I just focused on drawing what I wanted to draw.

Nowadays, I create works while considering various factors like composition, plot development, and reader reactions.

But back then, if I had just one scene I wanted to draw, I could finish the whole thing on that momentum alone.

I was busy with work, so perhaps drawing manga was partly a way for me to relieve that stress.

By the way, I actually have the script for Part 3 of this series ready, but it’s still sitting on the shelf.

It doesn’t look like it’ll ever see the light of day, but I’d like to reuse it in another project someday.

A while after I released this work, I quit my job at the design company and changed careers.

My doujin activities also went on hiatus for about two years starting from there.
