This week on MSB: Victory Gundam episode 39. Uso and the League Militaire crew discover that to BESPA 'ceasefire' means the opposite of what you'd think, as the soldiers of Largaine Base resolve to use up all their ammunition, and every Zolo they've got, in one last desperate attack on the White Ark. Uso deploys a pro-gamer strat using the V2's nigh-miraculous Wings of Light, fish rain from the sky, and friend of the podcast Sarah McCostumes returns to talk about greebles, closet cosplay, and the most intense costume choice of them all. *insert SD Haman laughing gif* I'm the possibly the only American who's done Zanscare cosplay, both of Cronicle and Queen Maria. And it's funny, because I originally considered Fuala instead of Cronicle back in 2018. But at this time, I was unemployed and going broke, and didn't think I could afford Fuala because her design is more detailed. So I made Cronicle's uniform and mask all by hand on a super tight budget on a basic machine. It looked cheap and sad, just like a number of episodes of Victory. So I've slowly improved upon it since then. I was planning to wear it again to MAGfest this weekend, but I'm really not feeling well and might have to cancel my entire trip. Perhaps that's a good thing so I don't get destroyed by the Charpocalypse lol. As for Maria, I made her in 2023. It took a looot of royal blue polyester charmeuse but I felt pretty powerful once it was done and I put it on. I wore it to Otakon that year and sang Victory's second ED song at open mic karaoke to heal the clueless audience. Or curse them, I'm not sure now. Anyway, I have a tenured "career" of cosplaying rare-ish Tomino Gundam characters and I have no intention of stopping. After all, I got to meet Tomino himself on two occasions at the same con dressed as two characters from his later works, so who knows what other dreams may come true from my game of extreme dress-up?
