I just casually tuned in during the original fair use lawsuit period, probably bc of Philip DeFranco's coverage at the time. I honestly thought highly of them based on that lawsuit bc the case was so important and it brought creators together at the time. The most I watched since was honestly during the Leftovers podcast because I had a need for background noise at the time while working and I thought the conversation between the two of them would be interesting because of their different backgrounds, politics, and expertise (or lack thereof). ​ ​ In retrospect, FD was right and they should have never done that podcast together. lol The goodwill H3 gained bc of the fair use case just obscured the gross shit they had done prior, and all of this blowing up has made both fans who rationalized bad behavior and casuals like me who didn't really pay attention all of a sudden care. ​ ​ Hopefully these lawsuits end soon so I can completely forget that all of these people exist again... They had some videos back and forth, some Twitter discourse...and FD Sig was pissed that BE called his friend a "z○gslave," and then they had a big thing on Noah's fundraiser where they had a very unproductive convo with some pretty funny moments. IN BAD EMP'S DEFENSE, I must say he admitted that he did not think/was not aware the "slave" part of z○gslave was what FD and (LilBill I think?) was upset about bc they kept talking about dogwhistles forever, and he actually did give a bit of a concession on that part. I haven't seen the content that led up to this exchange and once FD left the stream I think Noah did give him some fair, honest and constructive critique. It was a learning experience at least! 😭

I used to be a big fan of h3 back in the day and when he started to spiral on the h3 podcast a couple of years ago I left the community because it was just way too much. I haven’t thought too much about them until Gokunarus video popped up on my feed and now to see his videos and yours I can see how my instincts were right to drift away from it. Well done Ryan. It occurred to me that it is almost like there are multiple versions of Ethan that we have seen over the years. I started watching H3 back in the frenemies era. I kept watching despite having concerns about how he treated Trisha and still continues to periodically make inflamatory claims about her to weaponise his audience against her. The version of Ethan that emerged after the end of the Leftovers probably has a lot to do with a combination of multiple factors. Firstly, Ethan alienated the progressive audience that he had been cultivating for years with his conflation of crtiticising him or calling him a Zionist as being antisemitic, all while sounding like the worst of the zionist talking points. Secondly, Ethan went after Hasan who had his own audience and was not going to be crushed by Ethan and his petty personal grievances. Thirdly, H3's viewers, members and subscribers started dropping so they lost income. Any audience member who tried to disagree with whatever BS Ethan said had their comments deleted and got banned by the H3 staffers who moderate the H3 subreddit. This pushed the disenfranchised audience members to join the subreddits and talk about their frustrations etc. It's ironic that the actions of H3's own moderation policies to silence dissent resulted in the shift to snark subreddits for many former H3 watchers.

I suspect that Hasan probably told her to just lie about him not supporting her in any way to take the heat off her since him copping a stray like that would have no real impact on his platform or reputation amongst the people stupid enough to take the hostage video at face value. Of course that’s just speculation, since nobody has said anything about it either way.
