NH1n tech specs and update (Patreon)
Content
As some have already asked about the NH1n: it's still work in progress and I decided to name it NH1n, as it is the 1st headphone of its kind I am pretty sure, therefore it must be a 1 and not a 2.
I managed some improvement recently for an even more natural response. I have been tweaking the sound a lot recently and bit by bit I am getting closer to what I actually wanted to achieve, I will also readjust all modes a bit for the final firmware and make them more different from each other, so I am thinking of reducing mids a bit for "listening lounge" aside of adding some lower bass and upper treble.
Also wanted to share the tech specs with you and discuss about auto power off if necessary at all.

As you can see the NH1n has a crazy battery life and right now there is no auto power off except if there is no active Bluetooth connection, it will power off after 5 minutes. I was thinking about adding some auto power off when no music is playing, but I am not sure if it's necessary at all, as it can remain in standby for more than 2 weeks. And if you want to listen to some music just grab it and it should be automatically connected as long as you are within reach. The Bluetooth reach is also crazy, I had to go out of the house outside the garden in order to lose Bluetooth connection as it was already connected to some device which I didn't quite find. It has multipairing with 2 devices at once, but you need to cancel connection to the first one, in order to pair with another one. There is no dedicated pairing button, instead it will automatically jump into pairing mode if no paired device can be found.
I have already started preparing the indiegogo campaign, but there is still lot of stuff to finish before it can go online. I assume I can hopefully publish it by end of November.
I have got the NDH30 and the AirPods Max, the HDB630 have not arrived yet, I hope I will get them next week otherwise I will cancel my order and try getting them somewhere else instead.
So far the NDH30 is really disappointing, I am not sure what they were thinking but it’s a joke if you ask me.
The AirPods Max are just like I remembered: lots of bass and treble and little mids. As soon as you activate Headphone Accommodations it changes the sound and adds some dynamic processing which cannot be turned off. The only impressive fact about the AirPods Max is the outstanding transparency mode and ANC, just for sound I wouldn’t consider it at all. Now it sounds even worse to me than some years back.
I will prepare some short videos for the NDH30 and the AirPods Max and for the HDB630 as well as soon as I get it. And for the campaign I will prepare some side by side comparisons against the speakers and the NH1n just like demonstrated recently.
As soon as I have some news, I will keep you posted.
Something I forgot: I was afraid the pads could be not big enough for some ears but actually the AirPods Max has even smaller openings and feels far more uncomfortable to wear:
I will also order spare pads from the factory, just not sure how many I should order. If 500 units will be produced, I would probably choose 150-200 spare pads. What do you think?
