A huge thanks to Marek who sent me some headphones from his collection, with such a huge overview he has with different kinds of headphoens, he is also the 1st one to receive a SpX-R sample and maybe can give us his honest feedback soon.
Among the headphones he sent are:Verum TwoEdifier Stax Spirit S3Grell Audio OAE1Monoprice Monolith M1060CMonoprice Monolith M1070CFiio FT1Fiio FT1 ProHifiman Ananda StealthHifiman Ananda NanoHifiman Sundara Silver EditionHifiman HE-R10DSennheiser HD 300 ProSennheiser HD 380 ProSennheiser HD 200 ProSennheiser HD 400 ProSennheiser HD 700AKG Q701Sony MDR-1AM2Razer Blackshark V2 XBeyerdynamic T90
I will try to demo most in my podcast if somehow relevant, I didn't try them all yet, but so far the one that stood out most was the Grell Audio OAE1 which sounded so bad that I was shocked how Mr. Grell could also tune the HD600. The ones that somehow stood out in a positive way so far were the Sundara Silver and the Edifier Stax Spirit S3, these were definitely closest in sound to the SpX-R with studio mode. For those owning these, the SpX-R sounds more similar to these than to the others, just more even overall with better bass extension at least to my ear. The Edifier sounds a bit closed and basslight, mids appear a bit hollow, but still quite natural sounding, way better than the commercial crap from Sony, Bose and Apple and I think it's quite cheap now. Reminds me of the Audeze LCD-1 in terms of looks etc. Verum Two seemed to sound worse than the Verum One MK2 I own.
Let me know which you are most interested in to hear and compared to what... I will try to maybe prepare some simple database with all headphones being captured with the same tracks. If there was someone who could prepare a simple webapp quickly that would allow to A/B 2 audio tracks side by side that would be definitely helpful.
