Although a bit unfair to compare the twice as heavy and more expensive Partybox 720 against the Teufel Rockster Neo, surprisingly the Teufel holds its own at high levels with less distortion and a higher overall loudness than the JBL.

Next time we will compare the Partybox 520 against the Rockster Neo. Or should we try the W-King T12 against the Partybox 520 first?

Interesting results. Loudness wise they're neck and neck. The Partybox sounds more linear and accurate.

I find this distortion on the 720 ridiculous... and this is on battery! What even happens when connected to AC?? As the woofers get more power (as always with JBLs), I can't even imagine distorting more than this... I miss the PB1000 🫠

To make the PB1000 bass as close to the Ultimate is just simply replacing it with a JBL club 1224 subwoofer

The teufel reminds me of Soundcore Boom 2 plus where all bass is lost at max volume on stock eq and soundcore pushes bass around 100 to 200hz which is quite dry. Newer JBL speaker like the 520, 720, boombox 4 now has this signature vocal gurgle jus to push 30hz of bass on a mid-woofer speaker
