Yaaaaaay! Also to clarify yes Yuta was a Special Grade sorcerer, there are only a handful of them and they are a big deal. Yuta himself is extremely powerful. There are also special grade curses and objects.

Without spoiling, Yuta could copy Inumaki’s cursed speech because of his own innate technique. Not because anyone could learn it but, it could be used through innate technique (inherited like Inumaki) or a copy technique (used by Yuta) OR a cursed tool that bears the seal they mentioned “snake eyes and fangs.”

Just to clear up any confusion with the names; Suguru is his first name, Geto is his last! Just like Satoru is his first name, Gojo is his last (family) name.

Also, fun fact - JJK 0 was the first thing the author (Gege Akutami) released, it was supposed to be stand alone and Yuta to be the main character, but since it gained so much popularity, he decided to make JJK as regular series, with Yuji as the main character.

Great reaction! 🥳 Just a fun note: Yuta Okkotsu actually pops up quite a few times in season 1 👀 like when they say he’s overseas. So he couldn’t have died in this movie! It surprised me how often he was mentioned when I went back and noticed it. 📺 There’s even a short YouTube compilation of all his mentions in S1 if you’re curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QcXcEkUJeQ 📝 Something that helps us when we’re watching with friends is writing down the names of characters who seem important. In anime it can be extra tricky, since some characters get called by their last name and others by their first, depending on how close they are (e.g. Yuki Tsukumo 🏍️, Suguru Geto 👾, Noritoshi Kamo 🩸). Writing down both names really helps us keep track, and it makes it easier (and more fun) to follow the story later, especially in a show like Jujutsu Kaisen where every character ends up mattering. It's funny how you explained Yuta Special Grade status to the guy on the left (im new here and bad with names sorry) which with the information that you have at the time is correct, but the end of the movie explaines that the the power actually comes from Yuta himself- his cursed energy is so powerful that him cursing Rika to not die turned her into Special Grade Curse

JJK 0 was actually one shot manga that the author wrote and only started working on JJK after that. Since Yuta is already very powerful as a special grade sorcerer and his character development was ‘done’ during this one shot, there was not much room for growth - this is part of the reason why JJK follows the story from Yuji’s perspective as a main character. Nonetheless, the events of JJK0 are canon and many characters have their back stories revealed, including important hints. Exited for season 2 after this 🙌🏼

Good catch on that, Ben. Yep, Geto wanted a world of only jujutsu sorcerers. But somehow changed when you met him in Season 1, as he's now helping curses to take over the world -- y'all have to remember this. Bcos you're gonna find out why later. And yep, Seb was right. Yuta is really very strong. And Gojo even mentioned that it was investigated that they're distant relatives. That's why Todo in Season 1 had been looking for Okkutso Yuta and hoping to fight him during the exchange event. You should've remembered his name being mentioned a lot of times in Season 1.

It remained a wonder what Gojo really said to Geto in the end but it's been perceived that it was a three-word phrase, probably like "I love you" or "You're my bestfriend" bcos of Geto's response saying he wished that Gojo could've just cursed at him or what. You've heard a slashing sound when the screen went dark, so yes, we assumed Gojo slayed Geto there. We just don't know what happened next. But we've seen it's been hard for Gojo to do that, that's why he let him go earlier when he had the chance. They're best buddies after all, it's actually sad. I love them both 🤧

You are wrong at the end there, techniques can't be learned (most of them anyway), Gojo said it in season 1- ''roughly 80% of sorcerer power comes from inner talent'', meaning you have to be born with right technique. Yuta being able to use Cursed Speech will be explained eventually, but he didnt just learn the technique coz you can't do that

When they were referring to Yuta’s bloodline, they said he was a descendant of Sugawara Michizane—meaning he is a relative of GOJO. (Distant relative)(This was stated in the movie) But that explains how Yuta is so powerful.

Techniques are engraved into your body the day you are born, no one can learn someone else's technique unless that is an aspect of your technique, and you can never change your own technique. That's why Gojo said a sorcerers ability is 80% innate talent and 20% hard work, also why Nanami said sorcerers are shit. Season 2 is a banger though, you will get to learn a lot more about Gojo's technique!

I understand what Seb was saying. I know a lot of ppl won’t agree, but jjk lacks that emotion and plot heavy stuff. The author made it so action heavy with not a lot of emotional stuff, and sometimes it’s hard to feel attached to characters bc the writing didn’t get you to be attached to them. unfortunately the author had to do what the editor knew what would sell, and it becomes so action heavy. I do think Seb will really like the first five episodes of season 2 though. But yeah, I feel him on what he said. It’s all true and a lot of fans don’t see it lol

funny thing though, while it's explained eventually, this movie is based on jjk 0, when jjk wasn't a series and this was just going to be a one shot. The power system wasn't established, it was going to be a thing at the time that skilled enough sorcerers could just use the techniques of other characters
