Daily Comics! Daily! Comics!! (Patreon)

Hello and welcome back to a day I like to call Friday, also known by its full name, Daily Comics Friday! (If you don't see my Daily Comics posts every Friday, it's because you're a free member and I'm making this one a free post! You can upgrade to the $2/month "ALL OF THE COMICS" tier if you'd like to get my daily comics every Friday, instead of just when I post them for free.)
Last week we had a pretty crazy little storm sweep through Shepherdstown, which of course had me worried about my garden...
I just stood there idiotically pulling a string around the middle of my sunflowers until the winds stopped. To my surprise, there was only one casualty! (Here's the original art, if you'd like it! Scroll down near the end of this post for your 50% off coupon!)
Look at how tall these things are now!
I don't know if this comparison gets the point across re: how dramatically the wind was blowing, but here's that tree now vs. during the storm:
The power went off for the rest of the day just a block up the street from me, where all my friends live, so Rod & Tom came down to cook their dinner in my kitchen later and hang out with some wine. Four more friends were ready to order pizzas to my house and join us, until (of course) the power went back on five minutes after we made plans.
Pretty charming, tbh. I love living here.
I'll share more garden pics below. (I won't force you comics-lovers-but-garden-indifferenters to suffer through them!)
Luke got us tickets to see a musician called Sematary that you are welcome to make fun of us for liking. But also Ghost Mountain, which I genuinely love and you might, too.
He booked us a ✨table✨ because we're adults!
I suspect the Venn diagram of people wearing 21+ bracelets + people who were not parents was remarkably slim. (Here's the original for you, my fellow elder music fans!)
I keep a pair of shoes the way I keep a car: until rocks go straight through 'em. Here's the original art!
Here's a PSA for those of you who have rooms that the HVAC doesn't reach, like my downstairs bathroom-slash-pantry:
The jug was EMPTY and BONE DRY. I literally made apple cider vinegar (absorbed by the rug below it 😬) by accident. Science is incredible.
Here's the original art for it!
My friend Konrad, who used to live in Shepherdstown, is between places right now, so he's staying in my guest room. It's like an ongoing sleepover, I like it.
Shepherdstown = a landlocked Amity Island.
Here's the original art for this comic! Remember to use the code at the bottom of last week's post at checkout for your 50% off! (Since this is a free post, you'll only be able to see last week's post if you're a paying member. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, paying members get 50% off all original comics art in my store - my daily comics art is only $25 for y'all! Which perfectly pays off a whole year's membership, btw. $5/month Art Nerd tiers get 50% off my original figure drawing art, too.)
Okay final promo spiel and then I'll stop: if you sign up for a year's membership, it's 5% off. That's not much, but neither is a year's membership. The lowest tier is $22.80 if you pay for the whole year upfront. That's like, I dunno, 11¢ per comic? Anyway long story short, it's worth it, and you can feel good about being a Patron of the Arts for an artist whose rent which just went up by 30%!
That said, whether you're in a paid tier, or you're here for free, thanks just for being here. :)

Alright, where are my garden hoes?? Here's a small garden update for you, hoes!
First, my gothy sunflowers are opening up in the front garden:
These dwarf sunflowers were supposed to grow no higher than a foot & a half, but some of them have grown to nearly three feet! The ones in front of my main garden are Appropriately Sized:
Thank you for sticking to your seed pack description, little dwarf sunflowers. u_u
Pip for scale:
Don't worry, even though you can't see it from the front, the kale is still ridiculous. A real mullet of a garden. Polite flowers in the front, party brassicas in the back.
And slightly unhinged amaranth along the sides:
Anyone want jalapeños? They're abundant this year!
Now that the heat's finally calmed the f down, my nasturtium are cautiously peeping out.
The grass may be in its dry-cough late-summer stage, but the majority of my garden is thriving. A second crop of sugar snap peas will go in next week! So you know I won't shut up about that in about a month.
I hope a bunch of you are enjoying the cool, long-pants weather we're getting out here in the mornings! See ya next week, patrons.
Love from Shepherdstown-Sans-Sharks, West Virginia. 💙
