"JUST use hot pink." (nsfw) (Patreon)

FINALLY! We had no icy roads, AND a model tonight!

When I pulled out my drawing board for the first time in a month, I noticed a post-it note from our last session: "JUST use hot pink! (and maybe analogous colors)" Alright, Past Danielle, I'll bite.

Here are the first three five-minute warm-up poses for tonight:

... and the last 5-minute (on the left), and then a single reference sketch for tonight's long pose:

Unfortunately my first progress photo is about as blurry as the spot that intermittently affects my right eye (I'm getting it looked at tomorrow!), but here it is anyway, so that you can see how the overall shape & energy shifted slightly:

I wish I'd gotten a shot of the neon pink in monochrome; it was magnificent! But here's almost-monochrome (just pink and red), followed by me ruining it as usual with too much yellow:

I got it to that point I often do, where it's too dark in some areas. But this time, I'd added a bit of white gouache to my palette, so I was able to dab the white over some dark spots and fix them up a bit.

As usual, the phone photos are dark and contrasty, so let's refer to the gloriously accurate scan of my cherished Epson Perfection V600 scanner.

Waaaay more neon pink-y!

Here are some close-ups...

Really liked the darkest shadows flanked by reflected light on her legs.

This pink is really surprising me as a new favorite color. I'll keep playing with it! I may dabble in the teal green gouache I got from the same company (Nicker) soon, too.

Hot pink and teal... really bringing the boldest of the 90s back over here. ;)

I'm also happy to field requests! If you have a particular color, or color combo, you'd like to see me tackle, feel free to voice it. There are no wrong requests. :)

Oh, and here's the original for sale if you'd like it! It's just $30 if you use your exclusive Patreon Art Nerd Tier coupon code at checkout, which is ARTNERD50. (That 50% off applies to all original figure drawings in the store!)

See you soon for Friday's daily comics dump! Til then, enjoy your Thursday! 🩷
