Kayley has left for school in New York and Ryan didn't join us tonight, so that left just me and Michael, two indecisive scatterbrained artists relying on our model to keep us reined in.

But that was SUCH a great seated pose, we couldn't help changing our minds!

As someone who used to model for figure drawing classes, I remember that choosing the next pose was always STUPIDLY DIFFICULT. It was only outdone in difficulty by the dreaded Keep Your Fingers In Exactly The Same Pose The Whole Night. It's a challenge!

Awesome! Model torture! It looks like the pose was changing as you drew anyway. Sort of "model falling apart in 4 parts!" I've been to drawing sessions when the model was doing it for the first time and don't know what poses are going to be a problem. I try to warn them, but still. I usually leave feeling a little guilty.

I dig how you drew the foot on the 8 minute pose!

Haha yeah! She was very haunched over and natural in the first several sessions, but it took a lot out of her wrists and back, so inevitably she shifted a bit over time! We've gotten pretty good at telling models when a pose is gonna break them if they try to hold it, but sometimes we get too enamored with a difficult pose, and just shut our traps!
