Thanks to everyone who helped me pick a place & time for my livestream trial this weekend!

To keep it during daylight hours for places east and west of me, it'll start at 1pm eastern time this Saturday, Sept. 12th. I've scheduled it via YouTube right here, in case you wanna set a reminder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9WZVmdAdxE&

I'll probably go for an hour or two, and I'll be taking questions as long as I can keep up with them! Thanks to some wise advice, if I ever do a livestream workshop, I'll do it another day so we don't all die of livestream fatigue! ;)

See ya then!

P.S. This photo is one of like, fifty retakes. YouTube, my laptop camera, and my face are all relatively unforgiving.

Cheers, good luck. Something I didn't mention yesterday but having watched many livestreams you may want to have a moderator or assistant to keep an eye on the chat. And maybe set up censors, folks probably won't be inappropriate but you never know. A moderator can also help feed you questions or comments or just reply in the chat of you answered something already. You're already doing a lot presenting your space they could just help support you

Man, a moderator would be really nice. I'll think about it!

If it's a smaller audience you might be okay on your own, but once it's a community/city event the extra eyes will make all the difference, especially with some of the more technologically challenged presenters

Goooood call. I'll see how I do on Saturday and plan to have someone help out in November.

So fun to see your process! What kind of light board is that?

dcorsetto

Look up Monoprice ultra-thin light box - it's a great size, great price, and works really well so far!

Also, if anyone is interested in the see-through ruler you mentioned, I got all of mine at sewing or quilting supply stores. I’ve always used them in costuming work for making patterns, or marking on fabric, but they are also great for drawing. Mine is literally called “The C-Thru Ruler” :)
