Rex threatened to retire but GUESS WHAT, FOLKS, he was just trying to make our hearts grow fonder. We were thrilled to have him and his dynamic poses back in the studio tonight.

Five minute poses first!

A 20-minute pencil sketch of our long pose for the evening:

This isn't an AI drawing, I did indeed draw him with two two right hands! Rex was holding a staff irl, but I didn't feel like drawing it (straight lines? Feh!), so I relied on my many years of hand drawing & shading to whip out a faux hand, bent and hanging off his arm.

I'm glad I took process photos because I loooved these wacky-colored, less-dark versions!

Final!

I especially enjoyed coloring his face.

And I'm pretty proud of the arms!

Will she ever quit coloring the whole body straight-outta-the-tube yellow? Only time will tell! Tune in next Wednesday and find out. ;)

Very nice! There's something here that's very reminiscent of the cover art of a weekly news magazine at the height of its circulation in the 70s or something. (Not saying it's the wiener)

I love the stylization here! the color blocking echoes the linework really well. (also kneeeeeees)

Is this the guy who posed with a sword once? I've tried to find it in the archives but haven't been able to (or I'm just in denial about how long ago it was?). I can very clearly see the whole pose with facial expression and all in my head, but now I'm wondering if I made it all up.
