GOOD MORNING here's a dick joke for ya!

Appropriate timing, too: it's Ryan's birthday today. If you know Ryan, tell him happy birthday and don't tell him I told you!

That's what I get for thinking about it, though.

Have I even shared my woven bamboo fence with y'all? I'll make a garden post soon. I'm pretty proud of it!

(Btw, there's something called "snail bait" that I use to control these hungry fellas, and it works, in case you have the same trouble.)

That's the second squirrel foot that I've found. That I've found.

Luke pointed out that this is yet ANOTHER bearded guy in my comic, so I feel it's my duty to point out that this is my friend Mitchell, who's married to my childhood bff Adam. Speaking of whom, the revamped Reese storyline is going on over at GWS, and there's a photo of me & said Adam in the comments below this post!

If you've never heard of Sun Kil Moon, go listen to Benji and feel sad, and don't look up anything else about the musician or at least not until you're done.

I wish I had a photo of his face, but that's actually basically a photo of his face.

So I guess I'm gonna be a morning person now. (Special thanks to NJGR, who sent Fennel her ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TOY that I guess I should start hiding at night!)

Okay, now you've made me curious about said cat toy... ;)

A W

We've had a few cats who want everyone to know that "I HAVE THE TOY!" it's cute at first, but definitely less so at 3am

Ken Carlile

I have a cat what does that...

Corintha Hull

Our tortie does the same with her toys--though she usually does her singing while we're up, I admit.

The Archpadre

Our fluffy orange tom does that with two different toys. He's constantly rearranging throughout the apartment like he's trying to get the feng shui right. My favorite part is how _purposeful_ he looks when he's moving them (while making that exact mroooOOH sound), like he suddenly realized "I've GOT IT! The small green pillow toy should go by the water dish!"

Patricia Rodriguez

Oh man, my cat does the morning yowls. I think when he was a kitten it was because he was proud. Now it's more like, "Get up and feed me!" I love Pip's expression. It just cracked me up!

Dean Reilly

Snail bait can be really bad for pets if they eat it.

Andy Ihnatko

One of the trees in your neighborhood is captained by the megamaniacal Ahab Squirrel, who wears a peg leg and is demonically, self-destructively obsessed with finding and killing Kitty Dick...

Pete Jordan

I hesitate to say that we get remarkably few birds (or deconstructed squirrels) in these parts nowadays, just occasional mice and shrews. That may change as this Spring unfolds, of course 💀 That first panel. My tamsulosin prostate meds (aside: don't get old, folks; it sucks, whether you have a prostate or no…) list “ejaculatory dysfunction” as a side-effect. Which is far less interesting in practice than it looks like it ought to be 🙂

Hugh Eckert

I've never seen a cat with a thousand-yard stare before...

Farel Dal

Great cat comics. One of my cats lost about 30 of those bird b safe collars. The other one was somehow able to kill loads of little birdies while still wearing that thing. Still the collars seemed to slow down the bloodbath a bit. They are both pretty sore about being indoor dudes now, especially with nice spring weather that finally hit my town.

Fox

You're revamping the Reese storyline? Are you making any other changes this go-round? I haven't been reading this time around, since I've read the series a whole bunch of times already and I have the printed collection box set, but I'm interested in seeing what's different.

NJGR

OMG, Danielle, Pip's face! 🤣🤣 - - Neal

NJGR

Whaaaat? 🥺 I love that she loves one of those toys! ♥ -jess

Tuspa Mouse

Fun fact about slugs! In German they are called "naked snails." Cracks me up every time.

Bailey Doolittle

My new cat, Silke, gets up at the asscrack of dawn. Which means, in Denmark, that she is now getting us up around 4:30/5am, as that's when it just starts getting a bit bright outside. We try to feed her a teensy bit of food right before we go to bed, which only sometimes works lol

Becky Fish

She's also including the bonus strips this time around.

Cathi Andrews

Thankfully she doesn't yowl, but my doggo is half cat (as far as I know she's never lived with one, though she'd like to get up close with the ones that keep digging holes in my yard). She does however have a constant need to show me whichever 'squishy' she is chomping at any particular time, but cannot come to the door when I get home without one in her mouth. She is hilarious in how proud she is of holding a squishy. Edit: Forgot to write that I love all your comics - but Pip's old man face is a work of art.

dcorsetto

You're the only person I know who's also used these! And with varying success, hah! I caved when Ollie started pawing at the cat door (which only allows Pip to enter), and started letting him out on my terms, with the collar. So far, so good. He lost plenty of them last year, but I started sewing my own, so I have a bag of them ready to reapply as needed. Hope your boys are finding their own entertainment indoors!

dcorsetto

(I meant to edit "pawing at the cat door" to "desperately and viciously trying to deconstruct the cat door." He would've found a way to get out on his own.)

dcorsetto

Just the Reese storyline, as far as I can remember! Although I'm also including all the bonus strips that I slipped into the Compendium, so there are a few extra bits. :) Since you have the books, though, you've already got access to those!

dcorsetto

ME TOO! The boys had no interest in this one so I'm SO glad I didn't give it away!

dcorsetto

I admit even *I* cracked up when I revisited this strip!

dcorsetto

Oh nooo!! I'm familiar with your 4 am summer sunrises! Pip used to do the same, around 5 am, and menacingly. As a kitten, he started BITING MY HAIR OUT when I'd try to ignore his sunrise yowls. I finally bought what I call the Food Robot, which turns at 5 am every morning to reveal a fresh bowl of food for my little tyrant.

dcorsetto

Ahaha thank you, he IS art. My grumpy babe.

Bailey Doolittle

Silke used to just walk on top of my partner and me, but she's started a fun new trick of laying on my upper arm and putting a paw on my ear and then slowly extending and retracting her claws 🐱. She's new to us as of 3 months ago (but she's 12 years old), so I think she's just figuring out fun new ways to wake us up.

MaryAnne Glazar

(That works on some undergraduates, too...)

Holly

That yowl is definitely a tortie thing
