A friend from my old DnD group (an aasimar bard, thank you for asking) was able to model for us tonight! I didn't bring paints this time, because Jason got KINDA RIPPED this year and I have a hard enough time drawing male bodies, so I gave myself a break and just brought some old classic drawing tools.

Five minute warm-up sketches first!

I did a pencil sketch of our long pose for the first 20 minutes:

And did a finished study using Tombow markers, my trusty Pentel pocket brush for the ink fills, and for the smaller lines, this scrumptious Akashiya Sai ThinLine brush pen.

I scooted over a few inches for the next one:

Backs and arms still elude me, but BOY did I give him some handsforknees on these.

Did one last pencil drawing of his face and back before we turned in for the night:

I'm so glad we have a male-bodied model again! Which is not to say it's FUN to draw - IT IS NOT!! I'm BAD AT RIPPED MALE BODIES!! - but I can really use the practice. You'll see Jason again in the near future I'm sure! Perhaps with even more knee knuckles.

Boy, that first preview pic where you didn't draw the right leg sure made me think you were drawing something else! o_O :D

The finished ones somehow (maybe again?) remind me of Mort Drucker of the MAD Magazine spoofs. Which is not a bad thing! It seems to me it's just your style in this kind of drawings, and it's nice to be reminded of those spoofs.

hahahaha I did NOT CONSIDER THAT but now can not unsee it!!

That's a high compliment, thanks!

Crimony, this stuff is inspiring! I need to do more figure and landscape drawings, but I'm always afraid of insulting the model! ;)

Good to know I wasn't the only one to get a wrong first impression either 😂
