Hey everyone! We've already been on the spooky movie kick for a couple weeks now, and I'm so excited to see where the rest of our polls take us. This week's poll will be STACKED since it's in the Horror/Comedy genre which I received the most recommendations for lol. It's also the one I'm the most excited for! Here's what's coming this week: ✨ Andor | Season 2: Episodes 1-3The finale just hit YouTube yesterday, and I couldn't wait any longer to dive back in. I'm very excited to jump back into Andor this week! 🍿 The Thing (1982)The patreon poll winner for our Horror/Mystery genre! Honestly the one I was least looking forward to LOL but I'm very curious why this one stood out to you all. Thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone and having fun with these horrors alongside me!🍿 The Truman Show (1998)Heavily requested after Liar Liar, so I'm excited to see another side of Jim Carrey in this one!

A Few Notes: 📌 Superhero Odyssey peeps: Taking a short one-week break so that YouTube can get caught up. We have somehow gotten waaaay ahead of YouTube (which is never a bad thing) but it gives me a chance to recharge too which is nice and sometimes much needed! See you all next week in Shang-Chi! 📌 Middle-Leaf Book Club peeps: We've started discussions for Chapters 1-4! I finally wrapped up my reading in Chapter 4 over the weekend, so I'll be sharing more thoughts with you all a little later today/tomorrow. Hope you're enjoying it as much as I have been!📌 Movie Tickets: I've seen an uptick in people asking about Movie Tickets! They've been on hold for awhile so that I could get through my ever-growing recommendations list which I've been very much enjoying! I'm also working closely with Patreon now that I'm an official Patreon Ambassador (eeee!) on getting the storefront figured out so that I can put up a certain amount of tickets vs just keeping it open for x amount of hours. So yes! I will do movie tickets again one day. But right now, I've been enjoying picking from my highly recommended lists and finally watching those. Thank you all for your interest in the movie tickets and I'll let you all know when I decide to get them going again 😸As always, thank you all for the hypes, votes, and cozy community vibes here. Between spooky movies, Andor, and some awesome movies that have been suggested over time that I finally have time to sit down and watch, October is already starting off great! 💕

Oh awesome, both The Thing & The Truman Show are included in my Prime membership 😁 both classics, too.

Happy October yourself!! Oh boy . . . . . .The Thing! This is an outstanding remake of a 1951 classic, one of the few times a remake is better than the original. The 1950s were rife with all kinds of schlocky B-grade horror movies. At least 2 things contributed: the recent birth of the Atomic age gave rise to all sorts of nuclear-panic films about mutated creatures (most famously Godzilla). Secondly the Space Age was in its infancy and there were scores of low budget UFO/alien themed movies as a result. But there were definitely some gems in there despite the limited special effects abilities of the time. There is a specific something I wanted to tease about The Thing but don't want to spoil anything so I'm looking forward to discussing it afterward. You'll probably address it during the watch anyway. Congrats on being an Ambassador! That is huge. I didn't know that was a thing (pun intended). You are going to like The Truman Show a lot and thanks for the updates on your Odyssey, Movie Tickets, etc. You definitely have your fingers on the pulse. I will keep my ticket warm for you.

Morning Kali! Looking forward to season 2 of Andor and the Truman Show!

Warren Jones

What happened to Battlestar Galactica?

Chris

2 great movies, in for both!

Fanchman

She's taking a short break and will resume in November

It's coming back in November! I had a lot of hiccups with putting it out on YouTube plus it's one of the longer shows I've done so far so I decided to break from it for October until I get caught up on YouTube. Sorry for the delay but it will come back soon :)

kaliwali

Nice! That means they are included in mine also haha

I'm excited for the movies this week! It's been fun doing polls and also picking a highly recommended movie alongside it that isn't similar (at least I don't think lol) Thanks for the ambassador congrats! It's nothing huge, just a way to communicate more with Patreon and report any ideas/bugs/issues within my platform. So if you see something not working let me know! haha

The Truman Show was the film that showed me that Jim Carrey could actually act! Nearly 30 years later, it's still a gem.

Oh I'm not sure because it varies region to region. JustWatch says in USA, The Thing is included in Peacock and is coming to AMC+ on October 1st. The Truman Show is free through Kanopy & Hoopla, I think ad free because they're in conjunction with public libraries.

I'm happy yet scared for you that The Thing won. It's one of my favorite horror movies, and I'm curious to hear about your thoughts and theories after.
