Hey everyone! I hope you all have been doing well and enjoying spooky season as much as I have! You might have noticed I've been a bit quieter over weekend, but I got absolutely slammed with seasonal migraines on Friday. I'm finally getting back into my inbox and feeling myself! So if you've sent me a DM or comment, I'll be catching up today and tomorrow 🩷This week I've got another awesome watchlist that I'm really excited about! Let's dive in:✨ EternalsComing tomorrow evening! This one got pushed from last week (thanks, allergies) but it's finally time!! Excited to see what the cosmic side of the MCU brings.🔥 Andor | Season 2 Episodes 10-12 FinaleI'm not ready for this show to be over! It has been some of the most incredible writing and acting I've seen from start to finish. I could honestly watch ten more seasons! It's gonna be an emotional ride saying goodbye to this chapter, but here we go.✝️ ConstantineWinner of our spooky movie poll! You all really said "Let's keep the Keanu train going" 🤣 I love that every poll you all keep me on theme every time! I've heard it has a really cool mood and vibe which I'm starting to realize must be a Keanu staple and I love him even more for that!👻 The Conjuring Alright. For those of you that have been here from the beginning days, I'm finally doing this!! Hopefully after all the spooky movies I've made it through this October, I'm finally ready to give it another go. Paranormal stuff absolutely freaks me out (I do believe in ghosts after working night shift at the hospital and living in a haunted home for a few years), but I'm curious about this one and think it's time to finally take it on!Some extra updates:🦸🏻‍♀️ Superhero Odyssey Update: I'll be posting an updated Superhero Odyssey Map soon! But I need some help deciding which X-Men films to watch. Let me know in the comments here which ones are a must-watch for the main timeline, and which ones I can skip or watch on my own time. I'm so excited to get into them in November!! 💌 Poll This Week: Our spooky movie polls have officially wrapped up! It was an absolutely epic lineup and I have to thank you all for making this season so awesome! As a palette cleanser from our spooky week, the next poll will be filled with comedy suggestions again. Keep an eye out this week for that one!As always, thank you for being a part of my movie journey! You all keep me laughing, screaming, and overanalyzing in the best ways possible 🤣 See you in the next one!

Sorry to hear about your migraines ☹️ hope you’re feeling better Really looking forward to Constantine!

Simon

Looking forward to Constantine this week!

Jordan Sampson

So, when are we getting back to Battlestar Galactica?

These are what I consider the must-watch X-Men films for the main timeline: X-Men (2000) X2 (2003) X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) [Often called X3] X-Men: First Class (2011) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) You should watch these in release order. You'd probably also enjoy the Wolverine trilogy: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) The Wolverine (2013) Logan (2017) At the very least, you should watch the first Wolverine film, preferably in release order with respect to the main timeline films. Finally, there are the Deadpool films, which aren't my personal favorites, but which many people love: Deadpool (2016) Deadpool 2 (2018)

Brian

I have to disagree with X3, not nearly as good of a movie and nothing important for future reference. Also, I believe most X-men comic fans consider the first 2 Wolverine films very disappointing.

ButtercupsTrueLove

Any time I hear of someone suffering from migraines, the first thing I ask is, "How often do you check your blood pressure?" Kali has mentioned her chosen field previously so I'm going to assume that she has probably checked or have had it checked regularly. Just throwing it out there. No reply necessary since it is a personal health question.

Super excited for Constantine, I really really enjoy it so hopefully you do as well. Is it cruel that I also look forward to The Conjuring simply because that means next spooky season we might see some scarier movies lol? As for the X-Men films, I know a lot of people may put personal preference into their responses (which is fair, some really aren't great) however as a first time watch...they may all be important. I know people that say you can skip Origins: Wolverine and for someone doing a re-watch, sure, but there is something in that movie that is important for a future (small) reference to make sense. Something like The New Mutants you really don't have to watch if my memory is correct. It's just a spin-off that went nowhere but everything else you really may want to watch in the order they released. It's a lot of movies, but would probably have the best pay-off in the end for not missing even the little things. Of course part of it does depend on how much you want to get out of the movies. If you want the full experience you watch everything, knowing some stuff isn't the best or may not matter that much. Otherwise you'll need to try and piece together a bunch of different opinions from people that have already had the chance to experience the movies.

Brian Leonard

I agree with the movies on this list. I would maybe cut out The Wolverine, but that is about it.

KJ

X-men, X2 are must watches. X-men The Last Stand does complete the initial story of the Trilogy but is the weakest. I think folk would like you to watch all 3. X-men First Class (my personal favourite) and X-men Days of Future Past are Prequel films and are must watch and honestly caps off the story arc of the whole saga perfectly. X-men Apocalypse is the third in the Prequel trilogy: it's well made but is quite mediocre. I'd be OK if you watched that in your own time. The wolverine films can be watched in your own time imo (Origins is a mess and The Wolverine is just OK) but I'd like to see your reaction to Logan capping off the X-men saga. Dark Phoenix I've watched once and have not desired to watch again. Very blah.

SultanOfSwing

Watch X-Men 1-3, skip Origins, then watch First Class and it's sequels.

Black_TYGR

Not sure about timeline, but the movie “Logan” was really, really good. I hope you are feeling better, Kali. Resting up and taking a break from people does wonders! Take care of yourself. Cheers

Let's gooooo. Episode 10 might be my favorite Andor episode, period. Sorry but I don't really have an opinion on the X-Men films myself, I haven't seen any since the the original 2 wayyyyyy back in the day. So any that you watch here, I would be blind watching with you. I do think you should do Spider-Man: No Way Home soon though.

Jojo Garlin

I’ll give you my personal run down on the X men Films: X Men (2000), X2, And X Men: Last Stand is the original trilogy so all three are a must watch to get through the X men films. (SKIP) X Men Origins Wolverine. This movie comes after the original trilogy and is a prequel but it terms of continuity it doesn’t matchup with the rest of the timeline so it’s better off not watching. X-Men First Class. Is the second Prequel and fits into the continuity and also gives more background for established characters it’s also a direct build up for another Movie. (Possibly Skip?) The Wolverine is a standalone film, it takes place in story directly after the original trilogy but doesn’t add much to the series, besides the after credit scenes X Men Days of Future Past: The best movie in the franchise and connects the prequels and the original trilogy. A must watch X Men Apocalypse: is a direct sequel to Days of Future Past. It’s not the strongest of the movies but to me it is still enjoyable and worth watching. Logan: A much watch. While technically a standalone film it still is built on from the previous movies and is just an amazing movie in general If there is a movie that is absolutely not worth watching it’s Dark Phoenix, I don’t even hate this movie, but it generally doesn’t offer much as an experience That’s my viewpoint

Richard

My 2 cents is, I'll side with those who say the stand alone Wolverine films are probably skippable (of course that depends on how invested you get in his character) and also I feel they're more violent than they need to be but that's just me.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is coming next week! ✨ I'm really excited to finally watch that one!

Dude Longcouch

Awesome, really looking forward to it!

Paul Wright

I'm very excited to finish Andor. I've never seen The Conjuring or Constantine, so it'll be first time for both of us. The X-Men films are largely a balancing act of good films and not-so-good films, but most of them have story elements that connect to each other, which i can't elaborate on cause of spoilers. With that in mind, I recommend release order up until Deadpool 2(2018), with Dark Phoenix and New Mutants optional. Looking forward to your superhero odyssey.

Phil Stubblefield

Brian, I was never a comic fan, and I went into the first X-Men movie expecting at most a decent film. At the time, it BLEW me away! I was so impressed with the way the film introduced so many characters with just enough backstory to make you care but not so much that it interfered with the plot. And I think Kali needs to see X3 to understand what happens the major characters. YKWIM. And sorry, Fandom Crusader, but the statement that X-Men Origins: Wolverine "doesn't make sense and was terrible" is a subjective opinion with which I happen to disagree. I think that Kali will be involved enough in Wolverine's character to want to see this film, even if it isn't "canon".

Chris Gentry

There's quite a few X-Men recommendations so I'm going a different route regarding X-Men adjacent films.... If you plan on doing Deadpool 2 and Deadpool and Wolverine you MUST watch Logan first! Even if you don't get to the 2 Deadpool movies you should watch Logan regardless.

The Amazing Webhead

I’m excited for your reaction to Constantine and it would be your first DC comics reaction as he is a DC character and cross paths with Batman, Superman etc. As for X-Men, here’s what to watch. My list: X-Men 1,2,&3, First Class, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, Logan, & Deadpool 1 & 2. The rest you watch in your own time. :)

Joe

I am a big fan of the X-men universe As a kid, I loved the comics and animated show. There are some great movies there (and a few bad ones.). I say find the X-men release order and follow it with these exceptions. SKIP X-men Origins Wolverine, Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants. The Wolverine is optional. I think you will really enjoy the characters and perspective of these movies.

Giancarlo Gasparin

Anyone else bummed that Kali isn’t going to get to meet Matt before No Way Home, or is that just me?

Chris

that's definitely a fun little easter egg. luckily its a tinytiny egg

Giancarlo Gasparin

“A tiny Easter egg”?! How DARE you?! Lol jk Brother, I nearly lost my $hit in the theater seeing him show up. Entirely unexpected. Loved everything about the scene, start to finish. The “I wonder who this guy is” from Kali is gonna send me.

kaliwali

I guess I'll just pretend I know who that is now so it's not triggering 😅
