Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for such an amazing Spooky month! I seriously had a lot of fun diving into all the spooky, creepy, crazy movies that I probably would have never watched if it weren't for you all cheering me on πŸ€£πŸ˜…Now as we slide out of the spooky shadows and into November (already!?), here's what's coming up this week:🎭 V for VendettaThis one has been sitting on my schedule board since February! Patiently waiting for its moment lol. Everyone told me this was the movie to watch around November and that it absolutely needs to be on YouTube by November 5th for... reasons? πŸ‘€ So, it's time! I have no idea what to expect except some mysterious masked figure, Natalie Portman (who I'm thrilled to see outside of Star Wars and the MCU), and a bit of a creepy cover vibe. Excited to see what this one is all about!πŸ•·οΈ Spider-Man: No Way HomeThe BIG one! This movie is literally the reason I made my whole "Superhero Odyssey Timeline." I wanted to make sure I got the most out of the multiverse-y madness that started happening across the MCU. So I am SO ready!🍿 SuperbadOur poll winner this week! I'm beyond excited for another Emma Stone comedy! Her perfected awkward humor gets me every single time. Groundhog Day came super close in the vote, and since a few of you mentioned it's perfect for February it's officially on the schedule for then! In other news: πŸ‚ As we shift into the cozy season of sweaters, pie, and earl grey tea... I'd love your suggestions for November-appropriate movies! I already plan on watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles (a seasonal classic, apparently), but if there are any other movies that fit the autumn-to-holiday transition, let me know!πŸš€ Battlestar Galactica Update! Thank you all so much for your patience between Seasons 2 and 3. After battling the copyright Cylons for what feels like forever, I've decided to keep the rest of this series Patreon Exclusive. I hate having to wall off content, but YouTube has been relentless with claims, and I don't want to risk hurting the channel any further. Patreon, you'll be getting the full journey starting up again next week! πŸŽƒ Wishing you all an amazing and safe Halloween week! Thank you for being here, for your kindness, your patience, and your excitement as we keep discovering new stories (well, to me lol) together. I can't wait to jump into November with you all! 🧑 See you in the next one!

Wow, such a stacked week, looking forward to every one of these.

Daniel Morgan

Just an fyi, you can watch the first one, but the second post credit scene in No Way Home will lead you into the next MCU film (not the next Spidey film), (similar to how 'Venom' did 'Into the Spider-Verse'). So, you can not watch the second one if you want. Also, in case you're lost, the previous MCU Spidey film 'Far From Home's left off with Mysterio revealing Spidey's identity to the public, and with a bad remark.

It's a good list for this week. I can't think of any autumn to Holiday movies right now. But I would suggest Daddy's Home and Daddy's Home 2 (part 2 is a Christmas movie). They're both comedy and I just know you'd love them. As far as epic films, maybe Dances with Wolves. There's nothing Thanksgivingy or Christmasy about it, but the season sort of changes to winter. It's a good movie!

Simon

Wow. Fantastic lineup this week. Looking forward to all of them!

Gamaliel Freeman

When I see the cover of V For Vendetta? You'll see why I say; I look a where we are in this life vs. what this movie has shown. You may get multiple goosebumps.

TheJoeKerr

Looking forward to the no way home reaction. Happy that you are including Groundhog Day for February.

Onno Smits

Have you seen "You've Got Mail" (1998) with Tom Hanks? That takes place in November and has very strong "fall-vibes". πŸ‚ 🍁 🌰

Dude Longcouch

Absolutely stacked week. Hmm... November movies... off the top of my head, maybe The Nightmare Before Christmas? I haven't seen it since I was a kid but I know it's still beloved, and I think it does a good job of bridging the gap between Halloween and Christmas. Just a heads up, I think there's an "Extended" cut of Superbad, but I'm not sure what's considered the best version. Also, may I ask, do you plan on doing Terminator 2 soon?

Scott S

bangers, all bangers. Nice!

KJ

Awesome watchlist! Doctor Zhivago (1965) - one of the best films ever made and possibly the greatest Romantic Historical Drama ever. Takes place across the Russian Revolution that had the significant coup on November 7th 1917. Adaptation of the book by Boris Pasternak. Scent of Woman (1992) - incredible Drama starring Al Pacino that takes place over Thanksgiving.

Chris

daaamnnn, this week has gotta rank up there with the best of them

Chris

Amazon has both versions available, the difference is 6 minutes, and for some reason the unrated isnt in 4k. The unrated turns up the raunchiness a bit, has more jokes, i think its worth watching the unrated. Either the extra jokes hit or they don't, even if they don't its nbd imo.

Cindy Clarkson

Wow, V for Vendetta, one of my all time favorites! So good and so important at these times!

SultanOfSwing

Great lineup. And so excited for the return of BSG!!!

Chris

And a good feel-good choice to decompress from October

KamikazeCDN

Son In Law (1993) could work for November since it's around Thanksgiving. I won't lie and say its a beautiful showcase of cinema. It's very much a slapstick comedy with a faint hint of romance. There are loads of better movies out there however if you are in the mood for a kinda dumb comedy this would fit.

Richard

Well, I try really hard to avoid saying anything controversial, but since differing opinions are ok here I'll just say I wish movies like Superbad did not exist and I wish you didn't have to watch it. Superbad is one of those that I feel has no redeeming value and a terrible influence on young people. Trying to cram as many f-bombs and juvenile, misogynistic sex jokes as possible into every frame is a huge turn-off for me. Non-stop profanity is just very grating to my ears, no one in my family or friends talks like that so I can't stomach it. Not trying to be sanctimonious, I'm happy others get laughs out of it, but just going from the few clips I've seen and the reviews/descriptions all I can say is buckle up. Having said that, I'm sure you'll get plenty of chuckles but also some eye-rolls and "ooooooo-kays". Maybe some shocked expressions? Also I acknowledge that not every movie made has the purpose of being an Oscar-winner and supposedly these guys were like 13 when they wrote it (yikes), but I don't see in the humor in this kind of stuff, I can't help it, just my opinion. Groundhog Day on the other hand is a deep and meaningful comedy, so I am thrilled you are going to be watching that in February. No Way Home is great and helps set up Doctor Strange 2 which I am super excited for you to see. Not sure if you've noticed, but you have been popping up in some Reaction Compilation videos, most recently for the The Thing, so hopefully your reach is continuing to expand.

Robert da Spruce

Looks a great week! Hope you and your family have a great Halloween! πŸŽƒ

Brian

Remembet Remember the 5th of November... You're gonna live this!

Richard

For seasonal movie recommendations, I thought I'd try something a little different. These are all movies that either won best picture, best actor/actress, or both. Casablanca Roman Holiday As Good as it Gets Scent of a Woman Rain Man The first 2 I listed are black & white which go very well with late November color palette . . .

Joe

Fantastic week! Will V for Vendetta be your first DC movie? It is a great movie, entirely independent, not part of any continuity that you need to worry about, and not an indication of how other DC movies are. But just calling out a new branch in your odyssey.

Onno Smits

Fantastic week indeed! She watched Constantine literally last week. That's a Vertigo/DC movie too! But it's like saying Men in Black is a Marvel movie. Technically true, but not really, right? πŸ˜…

Joe

You are right! Constantine is even closer. This was labeled as DC (if I remember correctly), which I think is the difference between Men in Black. But true two DC adjacent movies in a row, but both not exactly DC either.

Łukasz Jarczewski

Have fun at NWH, but for me it's overrated. Cameo fest, nothing more. Sony threw out a big bait and many people took the hook. I've seen it twice and that's enough for me. I could write a lot about what I think of the film, but then I'd come across as a hater. But I'm waiting for the reaction to V for Vendetta. The comic is better, but the adaptation is quite successful.

Onno Smits

Not all movies are for everyone, and that's OK. Saying "it shouldn't exist" when you admit you haven't even seen the movie seems intemperate. πŸ™ I do believe that Superbad has redeeming value, and can be a good influence on young people. Even if it's "hidden" beneath its crude humour. VAGUE SPOILERS ON THEMATICS, MAYBE DON'T READ KALI! . . . . . . . . . . The movie humorously dissects the ways teenage boys hide vulnerability behind bravado, crude jokes, and sexual obsession. And it shows how/why that is not a healthy way to go into adulthood. Essentially, the movie is about how growing up sometimes means growing apart, and that that's OK. It teaches how validation doesn't come from others, but should come from your own self-worth. And one that hit closest to home for me; The movie shows that true friends accept you as you are, flaws and all. The bonds of genuine friendship are more valuable than popularity or superficial acceptance.

Onno Smits

Coincidence, or is she testing the waters for a DC marathon in 2027? πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

Fanchman

Sorry YouTube is making it so difficult for you. However, I am looking forward to the return of BSG.

Steve Mercier

Spectacular line-up this week..V for Vendetta is especially close to my heart (even if it kind of feels like a documentary at the moment). I always watch it on November 5th, but will gladly watch it with you as well.

Andy Jordan

I second Casablanca. One of my official Top 10 films of all-time, and simply one of the greatest films ever made. I watch it every year at least once. All great movies, but of your list, I'd go with Rain Man next, though being on the Spectrum, I admit I'm biased.

Andy Jordan

It's probably not going to win any polls, but Home for the Holidays, directed by Jodie Foster and starring Holly Hunter with a great ensemble cast (including Anne Bancroft, Geraldine Chaplin and a young Robert Downey Jr.), is a wonderful Thanksgiving movie I'd recommend to anyone just on their own time, if nothing else. Also, after V for Vendetta (co-starring Stephen Fry, one of my all-time favorites), I'd highly recommend starting your DC superhero journey proper with the OG, Superman: The Movie (1978) with Christopher Reeve, as well as its fantastic sequel. It was the original truly studio, big-budget superhero film that took the genre seriously, at a time when advances in effects technology were just beginning to be able to handle the visual demands of the medium, and also has a ton of heart and sincerity. I consider Superman: The Movie required viewing for superhero films, the granddaddy of them all, so I hope you'll be able to get to it when you begin your DC superhero movie journey. And I'm sorry to hear the YouTube is giving you grief. You're doing great work, all the same. Cheers!

FigLeaf Bicarbonate

Off topic but I'd love to see you react to some long form TV series like breaking bad

McShades

Everyone is never going to agree about movies, I don't find a lot of entertainment value in Horror movies, but others do and that's ok. I think Kali does an excellent job of providing different genres of movies/tv shows so everyone has something to watch.

McShades

Here's a few good Holiday movies The Holiday (2006) Elf (2003) Bad Santa (2003) Gremlins (1984) Scrooged (1988) Home Alone (1990) Sleepless in Seattle (1993) A Christmas Story (1983) Grinch (2018) A Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) Love Actually (2003) The Family Man (2000) Die Hard (1988) YES it's a Holiday movie !!! :P The only Thanksgiving movies I can think of are Planes Trains and Automobiles (which you already scheduled to watch) You've Got Mail (1998) Son In Law (1993) The Big Chill (1983)

Giancarlo Gasparin

Maybe not for the holidays, but Arcane needs to be on the roadmap at some point.

kaliwali

Oo yes! Ty for the heads up on end credit scenes and the refresher!

kaliwali

I haven't seen that one! I'll add it!

kaliwali

Thank you for the recommend! I'll add it to the list! And as for Terminator 2, probably next week!! :)

kaliwali

There are no coincidences.... πŸ‘€

kaliwali

I'm still working through Battlestar Galactica! But once that ends I have some fun ideas βœ¨πŸ‘€

kaliwali

Keanu and Sandra Bullock!? πŸ‘€ I'll add it to the list!

Simon

If you want OG Keanu and Sandra then you need to watch Speed (1994)

Brian

I'm truly excited to see your reactions to No Way Home and V for Vendetta!! Both are amazing in their respective genre's.

Brian

Of the 2nd list You've Got Mail is the only one I'd vote on. But we probably need to explain Pre 2010 Internet to Kali prior to her watching it!! 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

Brian

I don't watch everything from any Reactor, and I Sub to over a dozen. If I haven't seen the movie or TV show I won't watch the reaction. AND if I didn't like it I'll skip their reaction. However I also don't come Here and start my argument for why I didn't like it. ALL Film and TV is SUBJECTIVE. Just because I didn't like it doesn't mean everyone else should agree. I stay silent for those, or at most simply say I didn't enjoy it so I'll see you on the next video. Anything else is trying to exert my opinions on others. If you want that discussion wait until After Kali has watched it then we can debate if anyone wants to take the time in the other side of your view. I do admit everything I said above is My Opinion. I share it in the hope you'll take time to consider it. And Also.. SPOILERS.

Chris

Superbad Sunday? About Time (2013) is a cozy rom/com/++. It released in the US on November.
