I just listened to the part where you shared that someone accused you of including "AI slop", and I feel the need to defend you! Your prose has always impressed me, and it's been consistently good over the course of your channel. It is obviously *you*, and you are obviously *very* talented! Just keep tuning out the tiny naysayer minority and focus on the feedback from the majority who very much appreciate what you do! Oops! Sorry about that outburst, but that accusation apparently upset me more than I initially realized... 🫢

It’s unfortunate, especially if you’re a child of the 80’s, that they stripped out so much of the awesome ‘geekiness’ stuff (Dungeons and Dragons, Tempest, Joust, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, etc). I understand that they had to change it to appeal to a wider audience, but this is one of those cases where the book is better than the movie, especially if you’re north of 40.

First of all…Thank you for all you do! You are so thoughtful and kind in how you interact with your community members. I can’t imagine how anyone could say anything hurtful to you, that’s just plain wrong! I’m also sorry for what you went through during your childhood…makes me emotional just thinking about it, but I’m glad that you overcame it and became the intelligent and genuine person that you are today! I really like the Q+A, would be cool to have one maybe once or twice a year, for example at the start and maybe at the end of the year. Don't worry about trashing us gamers, We are unbearable sometimes especially over on youtube and twitch. We definitely earned the bad rep, cause I remember the Genophage arc during mass effect and I apologize cause I also was not very nice in one of my comments. I learned from that after you told us how it affected you and now I just shut up if I don't like something and be supportive. I still remember watching you on twitch from time to time playing Cyberunk before you stopped streaming. After you stopped the gaming I zoned out for a while because most of the movies don't interest me that much, but I always came back for some Andor, or now Batman. I don't really watch you on youtube anymore because I like the unedited versions more here on patreon, but when gaming is back on the table I will be there. Also respect to you for being the bread winner and respect to your husband for being a stay at home dad. Can't be easy. Hope you guys will do well in the future.

I've been watching you for awhile now and not once have I thought you've used A.I. for anything. You and Cassie are my top two reactors, mostly because I feel both of you are very honest with your reactions which is very important to me. I've come across some reactors who do popular movies pretending not to have seen then when it's obvious they have, I just find that annoying and makes their reaction videos feel staged/fake. Anyways, I personally think your doing a great job and can't await to see what you have planned for the future.

Oh that’s right, you did ask us for our idea for a movie character that represents you. Honestly I have to go with Princess Leia - short and spicy, rough back story, but ended up embodying virtue and strength. Since her name came up a few times, I wanted to say that yes Cassie is great but honestly you are the best at what you do so I think we’re all very happy that you are planning on continuing the journey.

As for games, the outer worlds is great, so much to say about it, great story and if you like the 1950's esthetics in a sci-fi setting you'll love it and it has multiple endings depending on how you play it, also had great dlc..

I know that doesn't seem lke a very long time.. but I remember those years. I empathize with how you had to grow up and the cards you were dealt. I really enjoyed this format! It felt very cozy just hanging out and watching you scroll through the comments and answering them at your own pace. I feel like doing them live could get very chaotic, and branch into a lot of side discussions at a surface level, instead of the depth you were able to have here. But I also haven't really enjoyed live content in general for quite a while now, so maybe that's just me haha As far as the "AI slop" comment, I remember seeing one person complaining about it I think on one of your announcement or update posts where you used an AI generated background. There's literally no issue with using AI for that, because you know, why not? But there's always gonna be people who have heart attacks when they see AI used for insignificant things lol. So maybe it was about that? And if someone was delusional enough to think that your write-ups are AI, then it's probably a good thing that they're no longer in this community LOL. Your beautiful, long, detailed write-ups have always been a highlight of your content on Patreon! I jokingly have thought to myself that you should offer a $2 "read only" tier where people can't watch the video reaction but can still read the write-up haha. For movies that I've seen, I always jump on the app right away to read your thoughts, even if I won't be able to watch for a while. And for new movies for me, they're a fun summary to look back on after watching. So don't let comments like that get you down and make you self-conscious about what you write, and how much you write. Keep being you!

The thing about paid direct requests is because people have shelled out their money they feel the reaction is just for them and they will pick a movie accordingly, without considering whether it has broader appeal, which is understandable It's a useful way to make a bit of money when the channel is smaller but your channel is growing quickly and a broader consensus is preferable imo. Something a lot of channels are doing is a monthly lottery—I think this is the best way to both include more niche titles on the schedule, whilst keeping everyone involved with the possibility their choice might be next

Stargate SG-1 is sci-fi series, but it's based on earth. There is a Stargate movie that started the whole thing, you'll probably want to watch that first if you ever decided to watch Stargate SG-1, It is 10 seasons long with two movies at the end, It also continues with Stargate Atlantis which is 5 seasons long, and there was Stargate Universe which lasted 2 seasons but was cancelled on a cliff hanger with no ending. Amazon just announced that they will be launching a new Stargate series on Amazon Prime, which I imagine won't come out until 2027 FYI, Wheel of time Tv Show did get cancelled. Another really good TV Show is "24"... Where the story happens in real time, for example the first episode is hour 1, the second episode is hour 2, etc...

I know I've personally been following you for awhile though I don't recall if I ever caught you on Twitch. I first found your channel when you started Mass Effect (the OG uploads) so it was pre-reactions. It was actually Mass Effect 3 that kinda locked me in as a viewer, not that I hadn't been up to that point. I remember leaving a comment during the whole genophage cure and what you have to do to prevent it...I mentioned how I admired your firm stance on sticking to what you first believed in until the game asked to much of you (I think I used different wording but its been awhile). Which hopefully it wasn't one of the comments from the gaming side that made you feel shitty or whatever but if it did...apologies (how Canadian of me) all this time later (regardless if you remember it or not). But I said how I didn't always agree but I absolutely admired you for sticking to it for as long as you could...and that sort of ties into the whole being "true to yourself" stuff mentioned in this video. Its obvious you are you. You're willing to laugh, cry, get frustrated or angry all on camera for us to see without appearing to fake it. I watch a lot of reactions channels, it's how I got through the pandemic, but a lot of my former favs/mains clearly stopped being authentic somewhere along the way. There are still good ones and you give off strong "good one" vibes, you always have even all the way back to what I mentioned above. Obviously I mentioned in my question about you slowing down sci-fi a little bit but I just wanted to reiterate that I agree with that choice. Its the routine for reaction channels, one genre does well that attracts more fans of that genre and pretty soon its dominating. I love sci-fi, I'll always watch more of it. I love The Expanse, I'll totally watch it when it gets its day however I also look forward to a break. There are a lot of great movies and shows out there in other genres. I mentioned 3 movies on the Discord recently that would never get a chance with the sci-fi dominance. Or a show like Sons of Anarchy, it's an amazing crime/drama/thriller that has never got much "reactor attention" because it's drowned out by the popular shows...largely sci-fi stuff.

Since I was the one to trip you up on cinephile, I have always pronounced it like cinema (which obviously is another name for movies) I have gotten many questions over the years of how I know so much about this movie or that movie and I'm the same way with music, I always seem to know the artist and the words and the song names. I always thought, how wonderful it would be to get paid to have all this knowledge that seems mostly useless. I was born in the wrong era, I would of so loved being able to react to movies and music as a content creator and make that a job. I found it very entertaining to see you go through the process of trying to figure out how to say it, for all I know, I have been saying it wrong for years lol. I want to add that currently, you are the only Patreon content creator I subscribe to because you come across so genuine. I have tried others and sometimes their reactions come across as fake and forced just so they are reacting. I would rather have what comes across as "the real deal". About the writing, it's true, it's hard to tell out there anymore what's real or fake. Especially since I have seen that and AI created actress and an AI created country singer have become really popular. It really makes the Terminator movies just a little scarier. Anyway, I am very happy for you that your channel is on the rise and succeeding, keep being you and it will soar!

Please don't sweat it over the "AI slop" comment. Your synopsis' are so well thought out and descriptive in a world where shortform slop/soundbites (which is true slop imo) have become the norm. Their comment is more a reflection of the kind of content they mostly injest, and subsequently became normalised to. It's sad they can't fathom that other human beings are capable of writing something as deeply thoughtful as you're able to. After seeing a few of your videos it's evident how intelligent you are, so it didn't take me a calculator and figuring out algebra to see that those words are yours.

Yes, Chernobyl. It's right up there with Band of Brothers level for miniseries. Plus, it's only 5 episodes, so it's not a big commitment. Stargate is completely separate. Amazon just announced like 2 days ago, the show is coming back, but there is a LOT to it. I kind of think it would not be a good draw for viewers, but I did enjoy them all. Including the last one that got the axe pretty quickly.

Yep, as her first reaction, SPR was long before she had thought of doing Patreon. So by the time she made a Patreon, she had already deleted the footage to save space on her hard drive

Thanks for this. Most people wouldn't share so much about very difficult times in their past. You've missed a lot in terms of movies & TV, but on the 'glass is half full' side of things you have a lot to catch up on. One of the reasons that I love reactions is the same reason I couldn't wait to take my kids to Disneyland. It's a kind of reliving the magic sort of thing. Wanting to go back to a time when you could see something again for the first time. Like Cassie, you seem very authentic in your reactions so that's why I sub'd and keep watching. I am absolutely in awe that you really didn't get the 'pay no attention to that man behind the curtain' reference. I won't give spoilers, but that's from a movie that is more than 80 years old...I'll let you just figure that one out on your own :) Anyway, thanks for the vid and looking forward to more content.

As for your gaming gaming community, I've come to observe that many get upset when you don't play how they play. I recall recently watching your Heimdall fight, and you saying it took you a bit to catch on. I felt you did great. I died about 3 times before I fully understood that fight. Can't wait to watch more of your movie streams and the next game you have lined up.

May I offer some advice ? You will never please everyone. And trying to please everyone will drive you insane. Imagine you had 100,000 subs (won't be long !) and you do something that pisses off 5% of them. That's 5,000 people all angry and shouting at you. But 95,000 ARE HAPPY ! You do you. Your core fans that love you will stay loyal. And you will be sane(er). And I'd turn the DMs off.

You describe a criticism experience that seems to have turned you away from writing. Sorry to hear that happened but, that resistance you were met with is a good thing because, no one ties to stop something that is not moving. If you are making moves and breaking away from your norm, you will be met with resistance and that is a good sign. My question, to ask yourself but not to answer to me: What if you were to write for yourself, because you have a story that you need to tell? What if you sent this story to a publisher without telling anyone here on Patreon?
