Hey everyone!I just want to start off this week by saying, thank you! For being here with me through so many journeys all at once. I think I'm feeling a little nostalgic because we are wrapping up so many things this week and next week 😅💕 So let's dive in:🌿 Frieren Season 2 (Episodes 4-6)I'm absolutely loving this season so much already. There's just something about that intro again.. the soft short bursts of memory paired with the music! It gets me every single time and reminds me of when I first fell in love with this show and couldn't stop replaying the intro on repeat for awhile there lol🗡️ Demon Slayer Journey: - Season 1 Episodes 25-26- Season 2 Episode 1- Mugen Train Movie! This week is a little all over the place with Demon Slayer! We're wrapping up Season 1 already, jumping right into the first episode of Season 2 as recommended.. Then heading straight into the Mugen Train movie! I've heard nothing but incredible things about all the Demon Slayer movies, so I'm excited to see my first one! I think it's really cool how they structured these movies into the story this way.😈 Daredevil Season 1 (Episodes 12 + 13 FINALE)Already at the finale of this season!? I have honestly loved this show so much. The characters, the tension, the parallels. It's been an awesome ride. I'll be meeting with my mod over the week to figure out where we go next in the superhero timeline because.. yeah to be honest it got a bit chaotic LOL. I'll surprise you all next week with what I'll be watching next!🏴‍☠️ One Piece Live Action Season 1 (Episodes 7 + 8 FINALE) Anooooother finale! I swear I didn't plan this 😅 As you all know and can tell, I fell in love with One Piece through this live action. Fully. So much so that starting next week, I'm diving into the huuuuge anime! I know it's a massive journey. And I love the idea that this will become a more long-term adventure we're all on together for awhile! Kinda like the MCU/DCU/Superhero one we've been on... but anime mode! 🍄 The Super Mario Bros. MovieWith all the hype around the new one coming out next week in theatres, it felt like the perfect time to finally watch this! I've heard so many good things. And Jack Black voices Bowser! So you know I'm already sold lol. Maybe this movie will heal my childhood trauma of the N64 game as well 🤣More News & Updates: 📦 Q&A/Hangout/UnboxingI'll be filming this sometime during the week! I have another PO Box run to make, and I'll either post it later this weekend or early next week. No pressure on the timing. This is meant to be a cozy, relaxing hangout. So we're just vibing with it and I'll film it when I can since this week is PACKED for me. It'll come out when I'm done! ⚾ Baseball Movie PollWith baseball season kicking off, I want to do a baseball movie poll! Drop your favorite baseball movies in the comments here and I'll put it together on Thursday to begin voting 🍿 We'll watch the winner next week to kick off Baseball Season!Thank you all again! For your love, support, and for choosing to spend time here with me. It's kind of awesome that we're closing so many stories right now because it means we're standing at the edge of beginning so many new ones soon 👀 I can't wait!

Baseball movie: Moneyball (2011)

Dave Morgan

My favorite baseball movie is Major League

TheTriibalChief

42 and Moneyball have got to be on the baseball movie poll⚾️

SirLagginton

I heard it's better to watch the movie as the individual episodes as they added more stuff to it. But they're both good anyway and both have the same quality I believe.

Giancarlo Gasparin

Really been enjoying the Daredevil content. I'm sure you've heard of this whole Defenders Universe with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc. Nothing against any of those shows, but I think most would agree that you DON'T have to follow the release timeline here. You can just move into Daredevil S2 and S3, etc without being lost.

Jeff Hamilton

Field of Dreams is an amazing baseball movie

Giancarlo Gasparin

Baseball movie rec: Moneyball. Based on a true story, great cast, and a ton of heart.

PG Modehouse

Moneyball is my favorite baseball film!

Nina

My favorite Baseball movie is "A League of their own" (1992)

pedro I.S

In terms of views i higly suggest you do season 2 of one piece before the anime, specially since is just 8 episodes so you can do it quickly and go to the anime after it. And also the anime is the project done with the least amount of care and love for the property, out of manga/anime/live action. So some parts can be hard to push through

Justyn

I dont know if the mario movie is actually "good" but i loved most of it. Felt like a love letter to fans of the 64 era forsure

Chris

Baseball movie can't-go-wrong-shortlist: Field of Dreams Moneyball A League of Their Own Major League Bull Durham Also good but in the next tier down: 42 The Sandlot Sugar (should be in tier 1, but hardly anybody has seen it) The Natural

Dude Longcouch

Yay, baseball movie! Thanks Kali. Everyone has already covered the big recommendations, so I'll just reiterate that I think you would LOVE Field of Dreams, and also friendly reminder to remain as blind as humanly possible about it. Don't read any blurbs or anything if you can avoid it.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an incredible line up... It's almost incomprehensible that Daredevil, Demon Slayer and One Piece have all reached their season climax simultaneously...... If you had a gazillion years to start several different shows again, all at different times and for them all to come to a close at the same time, then I would confidently wager quite heavily that you couldn't do it again. They have all been remarkable journeys so far, all in their different ways ( with the obvious exception of the spider demon induced nightmares of course ..lol ) So excited to diving straight back into these worlds again next week...also very hyped for the Mugen Train Movie. The Super Mario Brothers Movie, admittedly I know very little about..I have played the game many years ago so I will be intrigued into what degree of success the translation into cinema it had...and of course with the new movie on the way, to have something to compare it to. Really looking forward to the Q and A....last time was so much fun, so I'm super excited to join you for another one.. As far as baseball movies go... I haven't watched many, but I will recommend one I've seen and enjoyed. That is "A League Of Their Own" with the always reliable Tom Hanks, so I'm kinda hoping that wins the poll. Kali, I'm super hyped for this week's goodies, and thank you for bringing me endless hours of joy week after week.

KJ

Baseball Movies I think you'd like (and I like!) The Scout (1994) with Brendan Frasier and Al Brooks Rookie of the Year (1993) A League of Their Own (1992) Major League (1989)

Bill Bowron

Three baseball movies I highly recommend are Field of Dreams, Major League, and A League of Their Own. Can’t go wrong with any of those! ⚾️ Hope you have a great week, Kali.

Chuckles1004

It's crazy that you closed so many series/seasons simultaneously. Looking forward to so many new journeys on the horizon. Thank you Kali. BEST baseball movies, without question are Major League, The Natural and Field of Dreams. Those are great starting points. Moneyball is also Fantastic. Other notable movies: The Sandlot, Bull Durham and A League of Their Own.

Robert da Spruce

Looks like a stacked week ahead! Can’t wait! For baseball movies, my pick would be A League of Their Own

Jose Morales

Although I'm sad it will be a bit before you watch season 2 of One Piece as I feel it was even better than season 1, I'm down for the ride of watching the Anime along with you. 🙌 I can't wait for you to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, but also excited for what you have in store for us next week. As for The Super Mario Bros movie, I found it so to be fun and enjoyed it a lot. I'm not a sports fan (aside from the Olympics), but one baseball movie I did remember watching as a kid was one called Rookie of the Year. Goofy movie, but me and the siblings enjoyed it.

fireforeffect

Moneyball is, without a doubt, the best baseball movie of all time based on the 2002 Oakland Athletics season. It was a pivotal moment in baseball history and shaped the way the game is played today.

SultanOfSwing

Here's hoping for a Battlestar Galactica return soon 🙏

Matt Rowland

Baseball movies: Major League for comedy Field of Dreams for drama Moneyball if you want to understand how current baseball teams are built.

Nomyrose

Baseball Movies: A League of Their Own Rookie of the Year Major League Field of Dreams Angels in the Outfield The Sandlot (my favorite childhood movie)

Tim Hyden

Moneyball and Sandlot

Joseph Olson

Thought I would add some that haven’t been mentioned yet: The Rookie (based on a true story) Bad News Bears (the original 1976 version) For Love of the Game (Kevin Costner has made a lot of baseball movies) Hardball (with Keanu Reeves) The Pride of the Yankees (1943 biographical film of Lou Gehrig and a classic) Bang the Drum Slowly (1973) Trouble With the Curve (with Clint Eastwood) Million Dollar Arm (with Jon Hamm)

Ron B

A League of Their Own Hardball The Sandlot

Howie

Ahhh, yes! Looking forward to DS Season 2 and Mugen train reactions! As well as Frieren and the Daredevil finale!

Paul Wright

This and The Sandlot are the only baseball movies I've seen. Looking forward to this week.

Joe

As far as the superhero odyssey for Netflix, you don’t have to follow release order and can go on to DD season 2. That being said I do hope you consider Jessica Jones (at least season 1.). It is probably the best single season from Marvel, the villain is absolutely diabolical, and it would be a nice change to have you react to a female hero and seeing her perspective.

Morah-SDG

As somebody who is a fan of both you and one piece… I’d just suggest sticking to the live action stuff. It’s more condensed certainly, and you’d get the full picture of the characters and stuff better if you watched the anime… but that’s approx 6 years of dedication to essentially 1 season if television according to your rate of reaction production. To me, idk if that’s worth taking up a fifth or so of your reaction schedule for that amount of time. Though that’s just my singular opinion, and if you do watch it, I’d still rewatch it with you tbf. You’re the best after all! The anime sometimes just has slow, dragged out pacing, and still isn’t likely to end anytime soon. Great lineup this week though!

rubberkidney

basically nine episodes ds eps in one week? man drip it right onto my eyeballs. hitting all cylinders here on kaliwali central. ive never watched the one piece anime but i will watch it with you kali lets do it. i am liking the live action show and i do love animation.

Morah-SDG

Also my favorite baseball movie has gotta be… The Natural!

TChang23

Can’t wait for mugen train! Also if your a baseball fan there’s an incredible baseball anime called Ace of the Diamond that follows a high school baseball team trying to win the high school national championship known as koshien (named after the stadium it’s played in). No rush to watch it of course, also seeing as it’s around 180 episodes, it would be a big time commitment schedule wise just wanted to let you know about it for if you wanted something to watch on your own time, or if you think you could make a longer show like that work on the schedule that’d be great also. Have a great week!

Farbod

So much Anime... I hope we get The Batman soon...

KamikazeCDN

So far the anime reactions have admittedly not been for me, not that I dislike anime they just aren't entirely my style...which is the cool thing about content and life, not everything is for everyone. Maybe I'll have to give Frieren a shot at some point but I know One Piece isn't for me. If you're going to go deeper into the anime world you may want to check out a website called MyAnimeList. It's a great way to track everything you watched, episode by episode if you want, score things, etc. It was a great resource for me during my biggest anime watching era, it helped me track where I was in the various different shows I'd be watching or remembering shows I wanted to watch. As for baseball movies, Moneyball should be on the list. I also remember really loving Angels In The Outfield growing up, haven't watched it in years so maybe it doesn't hold up but I remember it being really good.

McShades

Baseball Movies: A League of their own (1992), Tom Hanks is in it. The Natural (1984) Eight Men Out (1988) Those are my favorites..

Boba Fettuccine

For baseball movies I'd recommend "The Sandlot" for laughs, "Field of Dreams" for drama, and "A League of Their Own" for both. But, since lots of people have mentioned those already, I'll toss a bit of a curveball - "The Naked Gun" (1988) isn't a baseball movie but a major part of the story takes place at a baseball game.

Khepri Sun

For a baseball movie you can’t go wrong with Moneyball or the Sandlot!

James Park

I dont think I've watched many baseball movies but A League of their Own is highly recommended, and thanks for the firefly unedited im currently downloading them because I work on Barrow Island and a cyclone is about to hit and the wifi drops out

M1 Maz

Definitely would recommend Frieren! I was someone who basically never watched anime, but decided to give them a chance here. And I've loved everything that Frieren has to offer, along with the other anime she's been watching. It's also been very enjoyable watching along and discovering something new through Kali who's super passionate about it!

Josh B.

As a fan of the live action and only seeing a bit of the anime I was really excited for you to start the live action so I am bummed you won't get to season 2 after this, I hope you can at least react to season 2 then start the anime since we have a whole year till season 3, I also heard they are working on a more condensed version of the anime and cutting out episodes to make it more coherent and digestible as a lot of it is dragged out and fillery, also when you do start the anime I hope you do the dub I heard its a pretty good dub and I am just not a fan of reading subtitles

Devon

Moneyball and The Sandlot are amazing

Matt Meyka

Moneyball and Little Big League

Ej Evangelista

Absolutely excited for you to watch the one piece anime. Also sub over dub any day ( unless it’s like FMA, cowboy bebop, death note etc). Just my opinion, don’t come at me please lol Also if you are worried about Pacing you could check out One Pace, which cuts out a lot of fillery moments and helps with the pacing tremendously

Ryan Paul Gumatay

i can’t w8 for the following episodes of OPLA ❤️❤️❤️

Trevor Stull

Field of Dreams and Major League

Black_TYGR

The Natural. Absolutely..a potential homage to the late Robert Redford.

Black_TYGR

Major League and The Natural. My two cents.

Black_TYGR

Oh yeah!! such a classic

Black_TYGR

…okay. My third cent…Bull Durham. Another classic!

Joe

Wondering out loud if the next stop on the superhero odyssey is something neither Marvel nor DC. Maybe with the recent detour into animation, is Kali is feeling a bit... Invincible?

kaliwali

I keep hearing that show is good!

kaliwali

Omg! I hope you're staying safe over there 🙏🏻

kaliwali

Very cool to know there are great sports animes out there as well! 👀

kaliwali

Good to know! I was wondering how closely those other Defender shows tied into each other after the first season of DD. Thank you!

Hawgfancolby

For baseball movies, Major League is definitely my favorite as far as comedy. I also really like Eight Men Out for a more serious movie especially considering it's based on a true story and is mostly accurate to what actually happened. All of these other ones recommended in the comments are great too but as a baseball fan hyped for attending opening day tomorrow, I'm biased. Lol

Howie

For the baseball movie: the Natural and Field of Dreams

James Park

We just went into lock down here the camp im staying at is designed to withstand cyclones its based on a prison but a nice prison

David L

42, The Sandlot, Field of Dreams, and Moneyball are all great films!

kaliwali

That's awesome I hope you have the best time at opening day! When I lived in Baltimore I used to looove going to the Orioles games all summer

Hawgfancolby

Thank you and that's awesome to hear! I actually live about an hour north of Baltimore so I will be at Camden Yards tomorrow. Love it down there and usually try to get to a handful of games throughout the year myself.

Chenou Yang

have you watched Inception?

Doyle McPoyle

Wait, are you skipping the second season of the One Piece live action and jumping right into the anime?

Alex

wait what?? she's gonna watch ONe Piece anime ? okay it has to be sub . i dont think watching one pace is necessary the original one piece anime is fine. she can skip season 2 for now in my opinion if she watches one piece anime

kaliwali

I'm not skipping it :) When I catch up to that point in the anime, I'll jump back into Season 2 which honestly should be this year? So I'll be ready for Season 3 whenever it gets here & prob be caught up in the anime by then too which is cool! At least... if my planning is correct lol

Joe Champ

have you watched train to busan yet? I feel like itd be a great movie for you to watch

Doyle McPoyle

Ah dang, I really wasn't expecting you to alternate between the two. I thought you would continue into the next season (was one of the reasons why I subbed). I'll have to check back in a few months for the second season. That said, I hope that you enjoy the anime, it's fantastic.

Chenou Yang

Ooo I can’t wait til you see that one! 👀👀

kaliwali

I haven't but that's one actually on my list!

Malik Vaughan

New to the Patreon because I couldn’t wait for the Mugen train now I see you’re starting one piece guess I’m gonna be here for a while

Nakuru

Seeing how you reacted to Frieren and One Piece, I recommend anime Eighty-Six (86). This anime is best suited for you, I'm 500% sure.
