This finale didn't feel like an ending at all. It was just another door opening. To more danger, more adventure, more demon slaying. I absolutely LOVED this first Season of Demon Slayer! It put us through so much. Pain, growth, facing spider fears, relentless fighting, and quiet moments of healing. Grieving. Getting kicked down, but always getting back up. And I love that this season finale felt just like all of that wrapped into a couple of episodes. Tanjiro still carries the weight of the world on his shoulders but never lets others take it for him. Somehow he stands even taller than before. With Nezuko always right by his side, still fighting in her own silent way. I love that even Zenitsu and Inosuke finally found their way back to the training. Back to the motivation after getting their butts handed to them. I can feel the awesome bond between them finally forming. It's messy and loud and imperfect.. but it's so real. Then we get hit with the Mugen Train at the very end. How did it shift the entire tone? It may have been because I was so excited for the movie and already knew the title before, but it felt like Demon Slayer just grabbed me by the shoulders and said "you're not even ready for what's next" 🤣 and honestly? It's probably rightBecause this season didn't just give us epic fights and beautiful animations (although, yeah wow, it delivered on that and me fall even deeper in love with anime). But it gave us heart and soul, too. It gave us grief. It gave us humanity wrapped in a story about demons. Where every villain still felt like a tragedy. And every victory felt earned. And I LOVE this show for that. I can't wait to see what's to come! See you all in Episode 1 of Season 2, then onto Mugen Train 🚂🔥Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/xJBiRhN-tn8I watched this on Crunchyroll in original Japanese with subtitles

I honestly have no idea how we have reached the season finale already as it only feels like yesterday that I pressed play on episode one It's certainly been an adventure, and it's given me some of the best television I have had the absolute pleasure to watch in a very long time. The storytelling has been sublime, the music, the animation, the choreography of some of the most intense fight scenes have surpassed my wildest imagination, and even the demon spider story arc was spectacular ( even allowing for the lifetimes worth of nightmares it provoked ). This journey, this adventure we have shared an experienced together has truly been a highlight of 2026 for me so far and I'm so glad I joined you for this wild ride....and I'm chomping at the bit now for season 2. Thank you Kali, thank you a trillion gazillion times over.

Looking forward to the finale! I was kinda expecting S2 E1 in the same reaction. I guess I misunderstood My bad 😊

Sad I gotta wait for whenever thr next upload comes out! Selfishly I hoped this upload would be like 4 hours with everything in it or something hahah Mugen Train is gonna be crazy!!

Great reaction, especially with the Kanao flashback! Hinokami Kagura (Tanjiro's father's dance), the literal translation is the Fire God Dance. So Tanjiro assumed there maybe was a "fire breathing" technique behind it. Shinobu never heard of it. Rengoku is the Flame Hashira and does flame breathing and she thought he would be the best person to ask. In Japanese, Fire (火 ) and Flame (炎) are two distinct words. So yeah, even though they seem interchangeable, even in English they are different words with different meanings (in Japanese as well).

See a falling coin? Kanao sure can see well huh? Smell, hearing sight and touch so far one more......

So Shinobu wasn't referring to the little girl as her sister , the slave trader went to put his hand on Kanae (Shinobus older sister) and she stopped him!! Kanao's eyes are similar partly due to her snapping and partly due to coincidence!! this show does that a bit, gives people the same eyes or hair etc without them having any blood ties at all..... oh and i dont think it actually makes it clear but the Stone Hashira (the one thats always crying and praying) is blind like The Master......

Kanao and Shinobu are not related. She did not refer to the little girl as sister, she was referring to her older sister which was the other Demon Slayer next to her. The one who was killed by a demon that we found out about in the previous batch of episodes.

I never even watched the Demon Slayer Movies except for the latest one (despite seeing the series three or four times now) because as I understand it, usually the movies usually just rehash the end of the previous season and show one or two episodes of the next one. I'm kind of excited to watch it with you to see if there is anything in the movie that I haven't seen, or if it really it just a few of the episodes smashed together into a movie. My preference for anime movies is when the movies are both original and canon in content, but that's very rare. Usually they're just non-canon filler, sometimes they do what Demon Slayer does and condense episodes (or, in some cases, even entire seasons/series into a movie), but a handful of anime that I've watched actually use movies to either cover smaller arcs or bridge the gap between seasons. Demon Slayer is doing this now with its final arc, which will be a trilogy of movies and (as far as we currently know) is not going to be released episodically at all. Another series I absolutely love (Rascal Does Not Dream), however, has three movies between the first and second season; the first movie acts as a perfect capstone to the first season of the anime, then the second and third movie continue to wrap up various other plots and threads started in the first season while also setting up for season 2.

Tanjiro is an absolute GOAT. There's so much more really good stuff coming. So glad you picked this up. I actually watched this out of order. I watched your reaction to S2 E1 first. My break at work is half an hour, so it was kinda perfect. Thank you, Kali.

Thank you for the link! LOVE all the Demon Slayer music!

kaliwali

Thank you for explaining! I was a bit confused clearly lol

kaliwali

Thank you for explaining!! I also had no idea the praying Stone Hashira is blind 🙀 Thank you for the insight there as well

Shane

you are most welcome!! you'll get used to certain anime tropes like all white/blurred/closed eyes typically meaning blind (unless its a power up like Zenitsu vs the spider demon or they're raging etc) and the coward/goofy character actually being a bad ass like Zen and Stark!
