I absolutely LOVE how they opened up Season 2. Instead of rushing us forward and immediately placing us back on the Mugen Train, it took a bit of a breather to introduce us to Rengoku's world. It felt like a really gentle but calculated shift from the trio we've been following since the beginning.Getting to follow around Rengoku on his own mission, watching how he proudly moves through the world with amazing enthusiasm, how naturally he steps in to help people. It made him feel so real. Not just this powerful Hashira that we met briefly, but someone present, grounded, deeply human. But I couldn't shake the eerie vibe of this episode surrounding the train. The disappearances, the tension setting in, the 'slasher'. It built up this quiet uneasy feeling while still letting Rengoku's warmth and steadiness shine through the entire time. He really is such a magnetic person!Visually, I felt such a huge shift in how they did the animation in this first episode of Season 2. I love that everything feels so much more refined. The lighting feels softer. The movement is somehow way more fluid. And the way the camera follows Rengoku through each scene felt so cinematic and enjoyable. Like watching the show really take its time, letting us live in his shoes for the night. I loved it! I feel like this first episode set such a perfect, hype tone leading up to the next arc! It wasn't too overwhelming. Just an introduction to a kindhearted soul, slashing his way through the night with a blazing fire sword.If this is the energy we're stepping into for this arc...
