WOW 🔥 Where do I even begin to express all of the feelings I felt while watching this... It was honestly everything I thought it would be and SO MUCH MOREI love how eerie the train felt from the very beginning. Those animations and blending to make the surroundings look almost real. I loveeeee how much time and love they put into this new arc! The quiet hum of the train engine, the stillness, the way it carried not just the passengers but also something so much darker underneath it all. And Rengoku.. He walks in like a warm sunny day, like everything you'd hope a flame Hashira would be. I loved him immediately. His energy, his kindness, the way he saw strength in Tanjiro and the others without a single hesitation. It felt so kind and safe. Like for once they weren't walking into some dark mission alone. And maybe that's why what followed hurt the way it did.Because this arc hit us with something so much deeper than fear.It played with dreams. Reality. A slow slip into the life you wish you were living. So sweet and warm that it made reality seem like the nightmare. Watching each of them slip into those perfect worlds. Quiet, beautiful illusions of everything they've lost or wanted the most. It didn't feel like a cruel trick at all. The kindest blood demon art I've ever seen, but orchestrated by a total sadist. The way Tanjiro had to choose to wake up, over and over again.. That was more than just pure strength. It was sacrifice. Choosing pain over peace. I would probably just stay...The fight felt so much bigger, faster, heavier than anything we've seen. The intensity just kept growing and growing and never let us catch our breath for a single moment. And just when it felt like the mission was over, that maybe the nightmare was done. Azaka arrives. What broke me wasn't even just the fight. It was what Rengoku represented the entire time. Unwavering strength, belief, pure conviction. Standing there not just as a fighter, not just as a Hashira, but as a protector to all. As someone who chose to stay and set his heart ablaze, no matter the cost. His final moments and the way he smiled and spoke.. The way he reassured them instead of even himself. I wasn't ready for that at all. I don't think I could have ever been. His death really shook me to my core, not just because it was beautiful and tragic at the same time. But because this entire time we've seen Demon Slayers be pushed to their absolute breaking points, but always get back up. This arc didn't just move the story of Demon Slayer forward and beyond what I ever thought it could be. It carved something into it. Into each of them. Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. And honestly, into me too. The world feels so much different. Heavier, more REAL. The line between strength and loss feels way thinner than ever. And the cost of this journey is clear as day.Thank you all so much for joining me in this arc! I can't wait to get into the rest of Demon Slayer with you all next weekSet your heart ablaze 🔥Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/DVZNw4cIWegI watched this on Crunchyroll in original Japanese with subtitles

It's 6:07pm in Britain Kali, and at 7pm my local Chinese takeaway restaurant opens, at that moment I'm gonna be standing in line to get myself a King prawn chow mein, shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour prawn balls with a side serving of crab claws...... It is going to take every ounce of willpower that I possess to stop myself from pressing play on this video, especially after reading another exquisite write up.... BUT, I am going to hold off for just a little while longer so I can enjoy my little dinner alongside this incredible sounding movie. Thank you as always, to successfully get this uploaded to Patreon today as well as your other Patreon videos AND the YouTube edits makes you something close to approaching a miracle worker.. Never forget how much I ...how much we all appreciate you and everything you do day after day.. You're incredible and we all adore ya.

you are that guy. man, did you watch these yesterday or today im curious about the real time execution?

I don’t think I took a breath the entire second half of the movie, then rengokus death absolutely broke me, I love how he accepted nezuko in his final moments when he was one of the loudest voices opposed to her and pushing to execute her but that also made his death that much more painful to watch, his final attack gave me full body chills because it was clear he knew it was going to be his end but he still pushed through with everything he had to protect his juniors, he truly embodied the full meaning of strength, not just physical strength but strength of will as well and he genuinely made me want to work harder to achieve what I want to achieve everyday, and live life in a way that sets my heart ablaze

It's literally the same quality and everything as far as the show and the movie goes. There is no difference in the animation. The editing is different (basically there are no commercial breaks or endings), but otherwise it's the same. As far as I can tell, because I've watched both, there is one scene where the guy who is in Tanjiro's mind (or in his soul) gets out and takes one of Tanjiro's little soul creatures—those pure souls—with him. That is kind of why he's so reformed, because Tanjiro saved his soul by giving him a piece of his own soul. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone else, but as far as I know, that is it. You don't get the Taisho secrets, but everything else is exactly the same. Tanjiro already knows how strong Zenitsu is. If you remember when they were at the Wisteria house, he said, "I've known since the beginning; I can smell how strong you are." He definitely knows already, so he wouldn't be surprised if he saw it. Inosuke, on the other hand, we'll have to stay tuned. Season 2 basically covers two arcs: 1. The Mugen Train arc 2. The Entertainment District arc 11 eps Then there are two more seasons: 3. The Swordsmith Village arc 11 eps 4. The Hashira Training arc 8 eps There are also going to be two future movies, with Infinity Castle being the first one of three that was just released. That'll be the end of the entire thing, which I like. I like that it's very focused and delivers on the story quickly, whereas something like One Piece doesn't do that at all.

Rengoku Kyojuro fought the 4th most powerful demon in existence! he died to show us just how powerful the Upper Moons are and what it's going to take to defeat them!!

kaliwali

Yeah I watched them all yesterday. I just changed so my YouTube thumbnails wouldn't all look the same 💁🏻‍♀️🤣

kaliwali

omg thank you for sharing that video!! I love all the music from this show so I can't wait to listen 👀

Next arc definitely one the best story in the series.

Holy Arathi

The last 20 minutes is by far the saddest thing this show has to offer….well I say that but I haven’t watched the arc that came out some months ago.

Squeesher

I get chills from it...I wish you many happy goosebumps 😄

I absolutely LOVED how they represented Tanjiro's soul! So pure, warm, and expansive I did not expect this movie to hit so hard either. Really really loved Rengoku's character. And I feel like my eyes were just wide open during all his fights, drinking in the amazing visuals!

Howie

Thanks for getting this out so fast! And thank you for the great reaction. I saw this in the theater when it first came out. I had been watching the Japanese voiced anime with English subtitles for all of season one. Sadly, the theater nearest me only had the English dubbed version, and it was jarring to hear completely different voices for the first time. I still enjoyed the movie, but I wasn't as moved. It wasn't until the movies was available to stream when I was really touched and crushed by the ending. Buckle your seatbelt now... the story arc after Mugen train is going to be wild!

Yeah, I can admit I cried at every Demon Slayer movie so far. Akaza. You'll get to know him. Can't wait for more. Thank you, Kali.

RenGOATku - set your heart ablaze! Such an amazing speech at the end from his character. Love this movie every time I watch it

I'm so happy you loved the movie! The thing I feel like you miss the most and that I'm a little sad about is the season 2 opening song and animation for the show. I know how much you enjoy them--I love them so much too--and season 2's is definitely one of my favorites. Which that says something, because absolutely ALL of the Demon Slayer openings are absolutely incredible each in their own way. I actually knew what would happen to Rengoku based on the opening. Well, suspected, rather--no, the opening doesn't spoil it. But like I said before, often times they will use foreshadowing and symbolism in their openings, and season 2's was palpable. I do hope you go back into the episodes and give it a watch a few times when you go into them to watch the secrets! I'd actually love to see you react to it, too, if you want to (maybe briefly before or after next week's Demon Slayer episodes). Also, I'm so glad I finally watched this movie because of you. I had never planned to because I was told, and read, that it's the same story as the episodes, but there were definitely some scenes in it that weren't in the anime that I loved. Specifically and in particular, the opening scene with the master walking through the Demon Slayers' cemetary and reading off names of corps members who, I assume, he personally knew and remembers. Knowing of course how this arc ends made this scene so powerful and impactful, and I have no doubt that the movie opens the way it does as its own way of also foreshadowing what is about to happen. Mugen Train is such a powerful and defining moment for Demon Slayer, for sure.

Matt Fox

Im so glad you loved it! Im excited for the next arc (its my favorite). Also if you get the chance take a quick look at the youtube video "Lisa - Homura/The First Take" Lisa is the singer for the Demon Slayer OP and Homura is the song you hear at the end credits.

kaliwali

I'm in love with all the Demon Slayer music! I'll definitely be checking that out :)

kaliwali

I'm watching the episodes this weekend on my own! I'll def be watching every intro/outro/secret haha. But I'm glad you loved the movie for the first time here!!

Matt Fox

The first take is basically just a piano and her singing without any warm ups. Her emotions and explanation afterwards always make me emotional.

Well…I’m not gonna recover from this movie for a long long time. This show has a such a strange way of giving these heroes such amazing, epic battle moments only to have it turned around in the end, both with Tanjiro VS Rui and now Rengoku VS Azaka. Because they were focusing so much on Rengoku and how he said he was going to train Tanjiro and Zenitsu and Inoske…In the back of my head and with history of other films where mentors say the same things only to be killed off ..seeing it here I was thinking throughout this movie “Uh oh….” and sure enough. And It wasn’t how I was expecting either. I thought for sure they would at least give him the Azaka kill but they didn’t which is very interesting choice. But, this entire show which I have absolutely fallen head over heels for has been so incredible…much like how they handled Rui’s defeat, I have to imagine there’s a reason for it. I remember The Master saying if Tanjiro kills one of the Twelve the other demon slayers will accept him so…maybe they left Azaka alive to give Tanjiro that revenge kill in the future, especially since Azaka technically has Tanjiros sword now. Also…I have to say I LOVED the dream sequences too. Tanjiros was absolutely heartbreaking and devastating but I think it was handled and portrayed so well. They made Tanjiro such a loveable, kind character that when he goes through something like that you feel every single freaking emotion and your heart just breaks for the kid. Especially when you consider he is just that, he’s a kid. I didn’t realize at first, but the dudes like 14 years old. So when you think about what he’s been through, still going through, and how connected he is to Nezuko and how dedicated he is to her and saving her , I personally have never felt more passionate about wanting a protagonist to win and achieve victory and I think that’s what also makes the ending of this movie so much more hard hitting emotionally because of Rengokus death and how Tanjiro viewed him as both a mentor but also a big brother. This show knows how to hit your heartstrings SO precise dude but I absolutely love it. Loved spending these past few hours with you watching the end of season 1, start of season 2 and this incredible film. I’m absolutely shattered by Rengokus death but…they gave him a happy ending in a way with his mom right? we can be at peace with that right?😭😭😭

DorkRunner

I had to stop watching halfway through to go to bed last night, but I wanted to address one point of confusion you had at the end about the relationship with his father. He did at one point seem to have a close relationship with his father. You can see that in the flashbacks, including the ending credit ones, and he says as much when he explains that his father suddenly one day became disenfranchised and bitter. Sometimes (often), relationships aren't as simple as saying "it was a good relationship" or "it was a bad relationship." Relationships exist at more than one point in time, and in more than one form; it can be easy to forget this when watching anime because of how anime often oxymoronically simplifies and exaggerates personalities, but even in anime characters and their relationships aren't static.

Kase

Well, time to cry again watching this... I love this show so much. Rengoku was only in the story for a minuscule amount of time, but his life and his death both left such a strong impact.

Christopher Farley

I highly recommend watching the Homura One Take video on youtube in your own time, it's the song from the credits by LiSA who also did the season 1 opening song. Also much love from youtube and I'm one step closer to a new Attack on Titan reaction.

M00n_chain

Thank you so much for this honest reaction! It's exactly what we hoped for and more. It sounds strange, but we expected you to grow fond of Rengoku. His appearance in the show was brief but brilliant, like a bonfire in the night. I've lost count of how many times I've seen this movie... it's brilliant, and watching it a second time is incredible too... (This is a before and after Demon Slayer)🥲🥲 Great character! Let's go for more and Set Your Heart Ablaze!🔥🔥

how could one not love Rengoku!? that last third is such an emotional journey.
