So... Jean did not come back as a stingray 🤣😅

Instead, she returned as something far more terrifying and tragic. This wild, untamed Phoenix. A side of her that felt like pain breaking through every cage built around it. I kept getting Wanda vibes from her in the new Phoenix form. Terrifyingly powerful, but nowhere constructive to put it because of the messiness going on in her mind. It was so sad to watch someone so powerful become a storm that no one could hold. And Wolverine.. His final moments with Jean absolutely send me spiraling which I never expected. The way he looked at her. The way he stayed until the very end. Ripping apart layer by layer, healing again and again. For her. And the line he gave her before doing the hardest thing imaginable... That was true love in its rawest form. Not easy love or perfect love. Just love that hurts so bad you can't help it. Love that chooses mercy even when it breaks you. I never expected to feel that emotional over their relationship. This movie really felt like no one was safe. Deaths kept hitting one after another. Scott so suddenly that I couldn't even grasp if it was real. Charles had me staring at the screen in disbelief. Then Jean's ending.. There was grief all over and it never gave us a break. I kept thinking in the back of my mind that there has to be some way to undo what Phoenix had done. Turn back the deaths. Some loophole.. Something. But it never came. The action and the music in this one completely leveled up! Powers were flying, stakes were high, and everything felt much more explosive and chaotic than both the previous films combined. I loved that the most. But the storyline? It was so controversial and messy and honestly rushed in places. Almost like there were so many big ideas but they were all fighting for the same space at once. The cure, Phoenix, character arcs and growth and relationships, losses, war.. It felt like a lot to swallow in one movie that was less than 2 hours long. But even with the chaos, I still had a fun time! Flawed, dramatic, emotional and entertaining. Sometimes that combo just works and X-Men honestly pulled it off somehow even if I wished the character arcs and losses got more screen time to feel and be.Next up is X-Men Origins: Wolverine! 👀Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/IXZSJr-Q1_kI watched this on Disney+

This Movie is a very poor interpretation of the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix storyline. I implore you to read Chris Clairemont’s run of the X-Men and the original Phoenix/Dark Phoenix Sagas. It’s one of the most influential comic stories in Marvel History. Long Tangent incoming: Nowadays the “Phoenix” is something of a Cosmic force that symbolizes all life. But as I said these movies wanted to be Grounded. So they made the “Phoenix” as an alternate personality. This decision isn’t entirely off based. In the original run the “Phoenix” was simply the personification of Jean unlocking the full infinite potential of her psychic ability, after surviving her Sacrifice moment that I mentioned in the last reaction. It was a metaphor for a young girl reaching full maturity, liberated and empowered. At that point in times storylines like this were rare for Female characters in comics. Up until she became the Phoenix, Jean was seen as something of “Glass Cannon” but when she became the Phoenix she became the most powerful member of the x men, she could change matter and her clothes with a thought, she could fight a cosmic being, and single handedly SAVED THE UNIVERSE, and not just her powers changed so did her attitude, she became more bold, wore more revealing clothes, more passionate, she was way more proactive with her feelings for Scott/Cyclops then she was before. Due to events of the Dark Phoenix where Jean became corrupted by an evil organization and destroyed a planet, Editorial demanded that there had to be consequences and that she had to die by the end of the story, and Chris Clairemont the writer wrote her sacrificing herself to stop herself as the end. But due to X-Men’s rising popularity they wanted to bring back the original 5 members all together again which included Jean, but the Editor still didn’t want Jean just to get a free pass for accidentally killing billions, so they made it that “Phoenix” took her form and memories and the Real Jean was put in stasis under the Sea, and from that point on the Phoenix became it’s on source of being. Nowadays Marvel has circled back somewhat towards the original intent, now Jean and Phoenix are considered one of the same, and That the Phoenix is and has always been just an extension of Jean Grey.

Jojo Garlin

I can’t believe they tried to make the crux and climax of this movie centered around Wolverine and Jean, really just Wolverine, This is why I and many others prefer you to watch the 97 series or any of the cartoons. The Phoenix storyline should be about Jean, the second most important character to that storyline is Scott/Cyclops who they killed off within 20 minutes of the movie. It’s completely ridiculous that this movie tries to convince us that Jean is Wolverine’s true love, when the two have a handful of interactions, one of them being Wolverine flirting with her and another being inappropriately coming on to her after she just admitted to loving another person, and none of those interactions were meaningful and based on anything other than physical attraction. Logan doesn’t know anything meaningful about Jean and has no real reason to have deep feelings for her. The fact they made this famous storyline about Logan’s supposed feelings and his struggle with doing what he needs to do, and completely taking Jean’s agency in this storyline, is disappointing, and a little disgusting

Edgar Gonzalez

Ok Here is one of the issues I got with the movies. They make everything about wolverine when the movie is called the "X MEN" Also, the Phoenix was never Jean's split personality or persona she created... It was a comic entity that took over Jean, as Jean called out for help while piloting a space shuttle. Jean call out for help telepathically as her body absorbs radiation and the Phoenix force answers. There is more to it but that is basically it, The Phoenix is a cosmic entity.

Michael Enos

I have to say I love your essays that head up your releases. They have a lot of depth and thoughtfulness. Do you have or thought of starting a substack? Excited to press play .thank you.

Terry In the UK

I wasn't sure whether to write a comment today Kali... but my appreciation for you and your channel would make it difficult for me to ignore a new reaction post. Is The Last Stand universally regarded as the greatest installment of this franchise....no. Is The Last Stand a fun, enjoyable and entertaining movie... absolutely yes. Thank you as always Kali ... Watching this will truly brighten my evening.

Jojo Garlin

My personal theory of Phoenix Jean killing Cyclops, is because Phoenix side knew Scott is the only one who could really get through to Jean’s good side.

Amir

This movie is bad. I have a theory/concept that a bad movie can still have value as long as it's entertaining. Spider-Man 3 for example does this, it's terrible but you can still have a really fun time watching it. This movie is both bad and boring.

Narutoanime16

I just hate how this movie series treated Cyclops he’s the Leader of the X men & they never showed that 😂 or him & Jeans relationship like there a couple. Logan just likes her, it’s weird . Then Scott just dies without any plot significance but I still enjoy certain stuff from this movie. & they really underutilized Rogue & Storm. Storm is sooo powerful & they did the bare minimum with her as a character, & Rogue wanting to touch people is always gonna be a constant thing but they made that all her character was in these films, complaining about it lol which there is more to her than that. The giant robot in the training room is a Sentinal it’s one of the many robots that hunt all mutants & the Danger Room is where they always train there powers at.

Narutoanime16

I enjoy certain stuff from this movie still but yea I hate how they wrote Cyclops, Rogue & Storm & Jean like Cyclops is the damn leader & he just dies !?

Phil Stubblefield

I'm sorry, purists, but I won't sputter and rage just because a film diverges from the source material. I'd rather enjoy what *is* present rather than focus on what isn't. Kali, I love your summary because, as usual, you see both the good and the bad. Powerful characters, exciting action, and shocking turns, albeit mired in a muddy plot. Still, quite fun!

Edgar Gonzalez

Regardless about how I feel about the movie, Im glad Kaliwali reacted to it... But seriously Kaliwali, you need to react to the X MEN animated series from 1992, or read the comics if you want a more accurate picture of the X MEN and villains like apocalypse, Mr. Sinister, or omega red. ❤️

Narutoanime16

I feel ya & I feel all the X men animated shows got it right more then the movies did even the X men anime 😂. I been rewatching X men animated series & that’s still the best Rogue story arc ever

mitchhamilton64

to be fair, apparently the phoenix saga in the x-men comics is genuinely really good. so its understandable that people wanna experience that on the big screen or in some motion adaptive format but each time its just the most limp effort into some amazing story line.

mitchhamilton64

to be fair about cyclops, the actor wanted out of the film so he could go work on superman returns.... for some reason.

Howie

Thanks for the reaction! It's been a very long time since I watched this, so it was fun to rewatch it with you. So this movie was directed by Brett Ratner and not Bryan Singer who did the first two. It was also not written by the writers of the successful first two movies, so these controversial choices already doomed this third movie. The Dark Phoenix Saga in the comics was an amazing story that spanned many comics and yet they shoehorned it into this story along with the mutant cure. Like you stated, "many big ideas but they were all fighting for the same space at once." And yes, the Phoenix is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. In any case, some of the story choices were so bad, Fox Studios retconned them in later movies.

Jojo Garlin

The diversion of source material isn’t a problem at least not to me and I assume many. It’s missing the point of what the source material did. The Phoenix arc is one of the most influential stories in marvel’s history and what helped shaped it into what is now. It was Jean finding herself liberated self realized and empowered, and it’s a cautionary tale of absolute power and how it corrupts absolutely no matter the intention. And this movie didn’t live up to that, Jean herself was kind of a minor character and the sacrifice came from Wolverine a guy who genuinely barely knew her. I don’t hate this movie as much as many do, and I have no problem with you, Kali or anyone else finding the good in this film, but this movie could’ve been so much more than “fun”

Jojo Garlin

If you wanna use the C word his role in Superman wasn’t any better in that regard if anything worse

The Amazing Webhead

Good video! This movie is based on the storyline “the Dark Phoenix saga” where Jean is corrupt by the Phoenix force which is one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel universe. It isn’t really a second personality. This movie has its flaws and is viewed as a bad sequel to some. Scott/Cyclops was done dirty in these films whereas he’s supposed to be this awesome leader that is almost like the main protagonist of the team. However, these films made Logan the focus and even the one to stop Jean instead. This is the end of the og trilogy but there is more to coming in this universe. You saw Deadpool a long time ago but I’m curious if you plan to rewatch it? The best list of movies to watch be for the future be X-Men First Class, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, Deadpool, Logan, & Deadpool 2.

DragonFireCK

The problem with the "cure" is that history shows us that it'd never be truly voluntary. Forever, people have been trying to treat other people different or convert them. The exact same thing has fairly recently happened with transgender, autistic, gay. All three have people trying to "cure" it against the will of the very people who are being "treated". Often, they are attacked and otherwise demeaned to try and convince them to accept the treatment.

Amir

There is absolutely no way that the government would actually make taking the cure a choice lmao

Jose Morales

When you said she turned into a stingray in X-2, I immediately thought of Moana. Lol. Action was good in this movie, but the story suffered because they were trying to cram 2 different storylines into one movie, so we got a bowl of cereal with water instead of milk. There is one more X-Men movie I like as much as X-2, but I won't say anything about that until you get to it.

KJ

Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) is such a great actor, I don't understand why she's only been given roles in mostly bad or average productions. She deserves to be in some great dramas that get awards recognition.

Giancarlo Gasparin

"I kept thinking in the back of my mind that there has to be some way to undo what Phoenix had done. Turn back the deaths. Some loophole.. Something." -Kali "Are we destined down this path? Destined to destroy ourselves like so many species before us? Or can we evolve fast enough to save ourselves? Change our fate. Is the future truly set?" -Charles Xavier

mitchhamilton64

i have this theory, at least in these movies, magneto has no idea that wolverine has healing powers. cause hes never seen him heal in real time. its why he thought he had wolverine trapped in the statue of liberty when he made him point his claws at himself. its why he doesnt finish him off in the woods and just leaves him. storms argument to rogue of all people, the person who literally cant touch anyone without killing them and telling her theres nothing wrong with her, when storm is pretty much a weather god is yikes. and i wonder how different this movie would be had james marsdon not pulled out in favor of doing superman returns? would he have been the one to kill jean for instance? it makes the most sense. rewatching these over time its weird how attached logan gets to jean when we see all their interactions in these movies and they amount to like 10 minutes of dialogue between the two, maybe less.

Hurrakan

The Juggernaut got knocked out by the wall because his powers stopped working when he got that close to the "cure" kid.

kaliwali

I watched it! It's after some of my thoughts since I talked through the credits.

Giancarlo Gasparin

Haven't watched the reaction yet. I like to read the recaps first. Based on that, I'd say you accurately described the general audience sentiment around this one, both good and bad. When this movie came out, we hadn't yet gotten to the, "There was, an idea" level of patient storytelling we've grown accustomed to today. 3 movies total is what you got if you were lucky, which is the reason why there was too much story crammed in one movie. To their credit, Fox later tried to rectify this in future X-Men films with some success. Looking forward to those movie reactions as well.

Amko Basic

Laughing my ass off at that first line of the summary xD I must be getting old or something because I remember that end credit scene veriy differently... In my mind Charles and magneto were playing chess together in the house in the end there.

Phil Stubblefield

To clarify, it's not that I'm bothered by strong opinions that differ from my own. It's just that whenever someone reacts to this film (and others like it), you just know that the naysayers will descend in droves. It's predictable, boring, and adds nothing to the conversation. In contrast, I enjoy balanced commentary like that of Mitch and Justin here; that's the kind of thing that helps us understand one another better. It's the non-stop negativity that tires me. 🥱

James Park

Did you recognise the voice of the female scientist it was Tali's aunty admiral Shala'Raan she has a very distinct voice, I was watching Vixen with my daughter an animated DC movie and heard one of the voices and I was wait a minute that's Garrus

Steve Mercier

My least favorite movie with the original cast...Scott dies almost immediately...they completely $#%@ing ruin the Dark Phoenix Saga (nerd stuff, sorry)...and this movie just...sucks. The only silver lining here for me is Elliot Page (then Ellen Page) as Kitty Pryde, a.k.a. Shadowcat. Everything just...*blegh!* When you get to X-Men: First Class, I'm back on-board (man, this was a negative comment... sorry...or, as Wolverine might say: soarry).

James Park

I never thought I'd hear you say "meat missle"

Brewza Brewer

As an older person, I'd generally looked at the X-men /mutants as an analogy of various genetic minorities, but primarily lgbt. The idea of a cure may be appealing to some, but repellant to others. The parallel could be a "cure" for homosexuality, etc. This film, despite its many, many flaws did show the potential for the "cure " to no longer be exclusively voluntary, as well and once a line is drawn, regarding who could, or should take it, the line can always be moved, depending who makes the rules.

The Dingo

Justice for Cyclops! Also if I remember right, this movie had a lot of rewrites even when being filmed which is why scenes like Magneto moving the Golden Gate Bridge was so awkward - that isn't what he was originally doing with it. Also, the Dark Phoenix that was Jean: horrible adaptation of the comics. Sloppy and horrible. Horrible. Did I mention how horrible it was?

Richard

I’m in a hotel room in Montreal and just noticed this upload . . . can’t wait to watch. So is that a thing that Italians are known for talking with their hands? 😀 I always thought you had great hand gestures during your reactions and outros. Have a good weekend 100k gal.

The Dingo

I honestly don't find it fun or entertaining, but I recognize that I'm not the majority on this opinion

Terry In the UK

You know, maybe that's a good thing.....if everyone had the same opinion, this world would be a boring place. Believe me, there have been many movies I haven't really enjoyed over the years that have had heaps of praise lavished upon them, but I genuinely respect everyone has a right to their honest opinion and I respect yours regarding this movie whole heartedly.

KamikazeCDN

All those jumpscares you got in this movie are going to have you ready for spooky season lol. The guy with the wings is Ben Foster, he's been in a lot of things, often as a solid supporting role. Pandorum (2009), 30 Days of Night (2007) are a couple good movies he was in that would fit for the Halloween season. 3:10 to Yuma (2007) is a good movie as well. He's honestly has a bunch of stuff that's worth a watch at some point. But I'm sure you've maybe seen him somewhere at some point as well. This movie did such a great job showcasing how powerful some of these mutants are. The Magneto bridge scene was so iconic for the time but also did a great job showing just how strong he is. But everything with Jean/Phoenix was so good and terrifying. Just how she messed with gravity, just everything starts floating up, including water or starts turning to dust and then just how her appearance changes...so good. I also really love the mirror they did with Professor Charles' "death" and Jean's with the smile. Charles looking to Logan giving him that smile just before he is "killed" does a nice job showing he didn't regret trying and was at peace. And then you had Jean's smile after Logan stabbed her again showcasing her peace with that moment...really nicely done. The Juggernaut is interesting in this one but he's a character that often has inconsistent appearances in movies. He's not actually a mutant despite making him one in this movie. His powers are magical and mystical rather than genetic like actual mutants BUT making him a mutant worked for this movie so it's fine. He is also Professor Charles' stepbrother as well, again not in this movie which is fine because that fact wouldn't have made a difference. Looking forward to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, not looking forward to the potential of people forgetting it'll be your first time watching and you aren't coming with comic book lore knowledge. Does it have issues? Sure, some worse than others but frankly all the X-Men movies do, even the best ones can get a bit messy. In the end most of them are at the very least entertaining to watch if you ignore lore inaccuracies and stuff like that.

mitchhamilton64

juggernaut couldnt go through the wall because the boys powers stopped his powers.

Mister Lou

Yes! I love X-Men movies! Im glad you're also liking them! I can not wait for the neXt-Men movie!

rubberkidney

Alright, we get a little dip here, but they pick up fast, so we should be good.

Bruce Steve

“Meat Missiles” 🤣🤣 You should completely skip Wolverine Origins and instead watch “The” Wolverine (2013) next as it’s the continuation of the Last Stand.

The Dingo

Countless mistakes

Matt Rowland

Stop telling her to skip movies. You watched it. Let her watch it too. You don't have to re-watch it. It literally impacts you zero.

Matt Rowland

They had 1 hour and 40 minutes. They were never going to adapt the full Phoenix story line. The film is what it is.

Matt Rowland

James Marsden couldn't commit to much of this film because he was filming Superman Returns at the same time.

Matt Rowland

Another great reaction Kali! Oh, and congrats on 100k subs on YouTube!

McShades

Keep in mind that Logan has been living at the mansion with Jean for 2-3 year, (From X-men to X-men Last Stand (story wise that is)). Although I think Logan kept his feelings it in check for the most part because of Scott. That said the comic version of Phoenix being a Cosmic Being that needs a host was more interesting then what they did with it in this movie, although they tried to fix it with a Ret-Con in X-Men Dark Phoenix but that was kind of a bad movie IMO. I still think X-3 was entertaining, but I get why people who read the Phoenix story in the comics would be disappointed with this version of it.

Robert da Spruce

So….not a stingray 😉😄 I forgot how savage this one was. People dying, losing their powers left and right. It’s been so long since I’ve watched any of these, I forgot what happens next! 😊 I guess I’ll find out when you do!

Alexander Ocean

I have never read the comics so I personally find this movie fun for what it is. Love your reactions and cant wait for the others!

McShades

I don't quite remember but didn't Charles eventually clone his original body and transferred his consciousness into it (at least in the comics?)

Paul Wright

Kali might remember her as Shala'Raan vas Tonbay in Mass Effect 2 and 3, or Tali's Auntie Raan.

Walker

I like that you saw the positive aspects of this movie. It definitely isn’t my favorite. I know a lot of people didn’t like this film but it had its moments. It was really sad to see the aspects of self loathing that some of the mutants have. We got a little bit of that from nightcrawler in the prior movie, but it seemed like he was inspired by Mystique and Storm. I was kind of disappointed we didn’t see him again.. I really liked how he had Nightcrawler kinda looks like a demon but was talking about faith and hope and then we had a storm. She looks like an angel but was talking about fear and hate interesting contradiction.

Darian Harman

I remember when X-Men Origins: Wolverine was announced, the running joke was, "Wait, didn't we already get three Wolverine movies?".

Joe W

So, Magneto didn't stop Jean cause he physically couldn't and Storm is mad because Jean has literally murdered people lol. I have some STRONG opinions on this movie 😂 The first two X-Men films worked for all the small faults they do have. They took their time with the story, the characters felt believable, and there was some real weight to the whole thing. But The Last Stand is on another level. It’s just poor all round. They ruined Scott completely. In the earlier films he was this steady, no-nonsense leader who held the team together. Here they sideline him straight away, give him almost nothing to do, and kill him off in the first ten minutes. I know that James Marsden was filming Superman Returns at the same time, which is why they limited his role so much. Fair enough, scheduling happens. But even so, the way they handled his death was rushed and disrespected the character he is based on... THE LEADER! lol And some of the lines are dreadful. Juggernaut smashing through the wall and yelling “I’m the Juggernaut, bitch!” was meant to be a big moment but it just lands as cheesy and completely out of place. The Phoenix storyline is rushed through and altered so much that it makes no sense. They kill off major characters left and right for cheap shock value, and the final battle with Magneto’s army feels lackluster. I just feel that Brett Ratner clearly didn’t understand what made the first two films good. It comes across as a hurried sequel that didn’t care about the characters or the story. Honestly, it’s easily the weakest of the three.

Jojo Garlin

No he hasn’t especially not story wise, he left after the first movie and he came back in the second, and then she left to find Kurt, then they met up and after a night of rest they went on a rescue mission to save Professor and Scott and then she died. So at the most he’s known her Logan has known her for a week or two and that’s being generous and assuming Logan spent a lot of time in the mansion at the first movie And the whole cosmic Host thing many people don’t realize but in the original comics Phoenix was just the personification of Jean reaching her infinite potential a metamorphosis. Phoenix didn’t become it’s own being until They decided to bring Jean back from death and wanted her to have a reason to not be held responsible for the Phoenix destroying a planet so they made the Phoenix its own entity and it went from there. So them choosing to make Phoenix a part of Jean’s psyche in of its self wasn’t a horrible decision it’s just that thy missed the point in the storyline and made Jean a minor character who barely did anything in the final battle

Alvin Cura

To this day I remember her best for ST:TNG

Alvin Cura

I think that this is the comment that I resonate the most with.

Alvin Cura

I must admit that the Dark Phoenix storyline was the point of the comics where I stopped following mutants, and reverted back to the Avengers and other solo titles. The Dark Phoenix storyline is where the mutantverse got really hard to follow what with the New Mutants and X Factor and other titles and storylines. The Eternals and Deviants and the death of Captain Mar-Vell we're happening at around the same time, and I resonated with those stor lines more for some reason.

soulspawn

"Not the Bees!" (haha sorry, the bee on his jacket comment reminded me of that meme) 😅

Łukasz Jarczewski

I last saw this movie about 15 years ago. And it’s still terrible in every way. Although there’s an even worse movie waiting for you XD And that moment when Magneto says, “Pawns go first”—it’s such a waste of a character. I’m surprised Ian McKellen didn’t protest that line. Unless he was told to. The comic book Magneto would have let himself be killed even for some minor mutant. And here? Facepalm And they really did a disservice to Scott throughout the whole trilogy. It’s a shame. In the original, he’s a better leader than Xavier, but here he’s just a whiny, jealous kid. Sigh

Lastboyscout73

I would highly suggest you watch the X-Men animated series, even if it's just on your own time (if you have any) to really know what the X-Men are all about. It will be much more educational than these movies of their origins and powers and such. Just a few of the episodes would give you a good idea about them. If the MCU continues on like I hope it will, the Mutant Saga is next and I have a feeling they will do it the right way. These movies are some of my favorites but they don't really describe the X-Men well.

Jojo Garlin

Technically it was, in the original run Phoenix was just her reaching her infinite potential, it wasn’t until after she died and was brought back that they started making Phoenix its own entity, and nowadays Marvel has kind of circled back to its original intent of Phoenix coming from Jean

Edgar Gonzalez

Hmmm, I've never heard of that. To my knowledge, Phoenix was always an entity. But it is what it is, the movie is made and nothing left to do but enjoy the reaction... The next one is X men origins, and that is the one that made me angriest of all. 😆

rSb - Rob Benjamin

Thank you Kali for starting your X-Men journey (which includes the Woverine films), which in a way, by doing so you stumbled into 20th Century Fox's own sort-of Marvel Universe, which some seemed to later refer it to as the Fox-verse. They included the two X-Men Trilogies & the Wolverine spinoffs, The Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Elektra, and rounding out with Deadpool. Unlike the MCU, the different entities for the most part kept their storylines untwined from each other, save for some exceptions. However, these entities were often identified as Fox's Marvel properties and I would highly suggest that once you are done with the X-Men/Wolverine franchise, that you essentially make this more of a Fox-verse journey, as the earlier entries of the Fox Marvel universe and New Line Cinema's only Marvel entity, the Blade Trilogy, helped shape MCU into what it became. The lessons learned in technology & storytelling of a superhero film and the impact of a star actor, or the growth of one, with any given superhero or villain were all identified in these films. Since you started with the MCU journey, you got to essentially experience the "dat good-good" when it comes to superhero movies because MCU is top of the line. But so far, you've really treated the X-Men Franchise with care and understanding and have not compared it to the MCU films, which I don't think it should be imo. You are essentially seeing the evolution of the superhero film by watching these. After the X-Men/Wolverine Franchise, I hope you continue this Fox-verse/early Marvel journey by hitting the Blade Trilogy next (New Line Cinema) and then hitting Fox's Daredevil and Elektra movies, The Fantastic Four and wrapping with the Deadpool franchise. With Marvel reacquiring all those entities now, any new MCU films from here on out might see the integration of any of these franchises, so having a bit of an understanding of all these superheroes would go a long way into your experience of them in the films to come. X-Men was my favorite superhero comic, so it was amazing seeing them come to brought to life on film! They were the one big dog entity that was outside of the MCU because of Fox owned those rights. For metaphorical/comparison sake... if you think of Thor, Iron Man, etc. as great singers of the music industry, think of X-Men as the big name band/group of the music industry. Since Marvel reacquired those rights, that is why we saw Xavier in the Wanda movie. That sort of integration is only the beginning...

kaliwali

Same! I haven't read the comics either so I didn't see anything wrong with it 🤣😅

kaliwali

Oh woah, you're right! I haven't seen The Expanse or Wheel of Time tho

kaliwali

Honesty same but I'm scared to say that now LOL

kaliwali

she never used her powers in this movie, so wym?

Maerandir Eldar

"It's like she has the Force" ... ::me, exploding at how on the nose that comment was::

Justyn

I never realized just how good the score in this is godDAMN

Joe Mallard

Remember the name Moriah McTaggart for a future movie.

Edgar Gonzalez

Another fact... Juggernaut is not a mutant, his powers are magical. They come from that helmet of his... He also happens to be Professor Xavier's brother.

rubberkidney

Boy, "Dickhead" really is directly on the dickhead for Juggernaut, man. I'm really sitting with that here for a second.

Daniel Morgan

😂 Wow. Welp. What caught me off guard was the post credits scene (cause let's just say I've been wondering about Professor X for some reason). I didn't even know this film had a post credits scene. AND I'm surprised to see Moira McTaggart. She was a consort of his in the comics, and a bada**, even if she's just human. 😎 And it isn't the last you'll see of her. Anyways, I'm so glad to join you on this X-Men journey. 🤗🤗 It was fun watching this trilogy with you, and part 3 was my most favorite (I tend to like movies that highlight me the most views in my younger years, especially 2014-15 movies, and some Marvel movies near 2009. And no matter how bad they seem.) I'm looking forward to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine, and X-Men: Days of Future Past (love that film).
